At least at a WSP show in the South, there is plenty of entertainment in the form of pink polo'd fake salt life brosephs wearing short fishing shorts and angrily stomping on counts 1 & 3. That's at least as entertaining as the White People Humor of Friends.
WSP sober is a great time to me. I ain't one of them yella ballooning it or anything but I have a great time whatever I do for the most part. I couldn't sit through Friends without booze. There's no perfect mix of anything that would make that show tolerable for me.
Postjack- Ouch at all of that
Jabco- I read that whole post thinking it was Longinus. HA! Cantankerous'd
Landing Fest is postponed due to construction of the new music area at South Shore Harbor. Look for them maybe back next year if they can finish the build out.
Fuck. I hope they will still get Ween to play in nola somehow if they were really booked for that fest.
Yeah I need to see them the way you guys rank them up with your top acts. This is great for the city if they can make that work. It is out of the way for catching people in town just walking the streets, but it's only 10 minutes from downtown. The plans are pretty ambitious, and obviously an amphitheater on the lake would be bad ass.

Well the not spending money thing went my way for once. I was worried about how great the lineup was going to be and I didn't buy those presale. So glad that they are improving the area, hopefully when they come back next year they'll have a pimp ass venue.
Yeah. They are supposed to do it in phases. I can't remember from when the contract was signed which order everything happens. Eventually they want a studio, bars/restaurants, amphitheater and all. Just the same, I'm committing to VIP for Bear Creek Bayou now. That's going to be the money shit. If the lineup and artists at large is anything like 14, and shit like Umphrey's, Lettuce, Budos Band, Earphunk and shit are what's up, they are paying me at that point.

I don't see how this could be possible at Mardi Gras World, but we'll see.
I hope it's the same guy booking and not someone else using the name. I forget his name but I was introduced to him at the Seafood Festival at City Park a couple of years ago and watched some of Shuggie Otis with him and his crew at HOB that night when I ran into them again. That show kicked fucking ass, June Yamagishi sat in with him, which was epic since he's my fav nola guitar player.
Yeah, things are a little secure at the entrance there.
I ran into June at T-Ray the Violinist at Jazz Fest. He came out from back stage to watch a few minutes and I saw him, and he saw me, so I had to go up and shake hands with him. He's such a great guitarist who understands the music though he is not native to the area. He isn't my top guitarist (I think Jimmy Robinson of old days and maybe Danny Abel modern/up and coming era).
I'm hoping that the timing of this Prophets of Rage news assault is not coincidental. With Voodoo right before the election... it wouldn't be a huge surprise!

Somebody was hating on it (....if you liked butt music that was Cypress Hill live at the Filmore), but I'd be completely down with Rage along with Chuck D (who is a f'n hero) and B. Real. I have zero problems with them as a headliner or sub-headliner.
In my opinion, they'd be the perfect Voodoo headliner this year... Tool for the hardcore rockers, Prophets of Rage for the fans of rap and rap-rock, any fucking DJ for the electro set, and maybe LCD Soundsystem because they're everywhere. HAH.
But seriously, they have enough pieces of the puzzle to inspire some serious ticket sales. I'd love to see it.

I would not be upset with that at all.
I hope Radiohead at least plays nola, been listening to their live shows a lot lately, really need to hear Lucky in person again.

You don't think that Big Grams has a higher chance of playing than Run the Jewels? I have seen Run the Jewels four times already, and I haven't gotten to see Big Grams yet. If the Superjam is awesome at Bonnaroo I might not see them there either.
