Tim and Ler live over there. It's convenient for them to play and get that paycheck. Pretty much why NYE show happens every year in Oakland. That's probably the only 2 shows Primus plays this year.
You have to beat me in a hell in the cell match first. I already have dibs.
Lmao. Cody moved in with his old lady a few blocks away so some of the Bayou posse can stay at his crib. I always got space for either one of you mfrs or both if necessary. It's not the greatest place because it's so old, but it is big and we have good bathroom hygiene and it's walking distance which is best of all. cmack was coming down too, but might not but also has space or a room if necessary. So it's all good. But it does bring back the point that Phi made for the value. I'd take it a step farther and say it would be hard to top the value in festival America this year than Voodoo (obviously assuming expensive lodging and transportation not being a factor). I paid a straight 99 (would totally lay down 140+fees) for Tool, Puscifer, STS9, Claypool/Lennon, Gramatik, Arcade Fire, Foals, Ghost, Cage, Mutemath, Excision, etc. i plan on having a mfn blast.
I booked a room at motel 8 off old gentilly months ago. My Voodoo sleeping hours are typically 6am-noon because of late night shenanigans. I have friends that I could stay with, but every time I stay with them I end up getting like 2 hours of sleep. I'd rather pony up $150 for 2 nights at indian slum lord hotel than get woken up by a kid, a dog, sunlight, talking, etc within an hour of passing out. Esteban is probably cracking beers at 9am.
Haha. Sometimes, yeah. Whiskey on corn flakes. Last year I was pretty dead from night shows from Wed/Thurs/Fri and slept in til 1030/11ish. Assuming we will get a Big G night show among others passing through or back from Hula for some late night shows.

That's where I went and sold my buku ticket, to those hippies, Uno and Charles... don't stay there.

We've stayed there multiple times. Nicest Motel 6 ever, the rooms are gigantic.
I stayed at the Sugar Bowl Motel one year. That shit was sketchy as hell. Legit crackheads knocking on the door at 3:30 am... It's closed now, but it was the motel that Heath Ledger was in in the opening of Monsters Ball.
Probably so. Ideally, Gramatik or STS9 opposes Weeknd. Nightmare scenario would be Weeknd v. Chainsmokers, but that would only be 9:30-11, and no doubt there would be something smaller at one of the other stages. All I know at the moment is that STS9 (other side of the nightmare coin is they oppose Tool ala Lettuce v. Ozzy) is in Live Oak on Friday. Tool is in Little Rock on Friday, so Puscifer/Tool, which I'm also assuming would be on different days (but who knows?). So either Weeknd or Arcade Fire on Friday; the other Saturday, and maybe Tool closes out Sunday <-- else Tool plays Saturday and Arcade Fire closes the festival out. Damnit, I hate wishing my mf'n life away, but come on Voodoo!
Saturday: Tool vs. The Chainsmokers vs. Porter Robinson
Sunday: Arcade Fire vs. G-Eazy
I would prefer Tool to close it out Sunday, but given the late showtimes on Sat, and the early ending on Sun, I think they would have Tool in the dark, and the new residents of NOLA in Arcade Fire put a bow on the proceedings.

Voodoo tweeted Porter is doing a live set which was a fairly massive production when I saw it at Buku in the Float Den 2015. So I don't think they or Chainsmokers would be on one of the small stages also due to both having probably large crowds. But then maybe Puscifer pre-headlines for Arcade Fire Sunday?
You're probably right that they would want Tool in the dark, and since Daylight Savings Time doesn't end til after Halloween, it will still be light on Sunday til near the end.
He likes to open them in front of your sleeping face, too, to wake you up.
3post1jack1 this is why me and Long don't get along as well. I'm fighting to keep up with Esteban and happily joining in his marathon exercise in drugs and alcohol.
