Ghost is Saturday 10/29 per tour e-poster. That means they'll be continuing with hard stuff on Saturday. Ghost into Tool would be nice.
That would be the most magical birthday present ever. I think I need to start getting my birthday, voodoo outfit together.
Nice, but you don't drink. So I can't buy you a birthday drink on the 29th. Maybe it's gonna have to be a red bull or bottled water. Haha. It's funny because all the were going to Hulaween people my kids run with are loving this lineup but hating Chainsmokers and Weeknd like most of us. You and Jeremy might have to stop by on the way to City Park for some pregaming. I'm only a few blocks away. Got my boy from Austin and his wife my little brother's Air B&B which is all of 3 blocks from the park. Mollymunchingmillenial and his gf are staying at our crib and possibly cmack if he comes to his senses. Haha.

I'm down with all that! Cmack needs to get it together, voodoo is going to be awesome. Is your house close enough to bike to voodoo?

Yeah. jabco I think did it when he was going to festivals. 1945???? We are right near Carrollton and Canal. We walk. Biking is ideal except I don't have one and don't want to wreck on the way home. . But yeah. You can get about 5-6 blocks closer than me, but we will talk before then and figure it out.
There was this one time I left ACL early when Arcade Fire was playing. My group and girlfriend at the time were tired. First festival mistakes waiting hula drop #2.
Fri : Arcade Fire / Lennon-Claypool / Chainsmokers / Band Of Horses Cage and Foals before Arcade Fire...........
Sat : Tool / Porter Robinson / STS9 / Tory Lanez Ghost and Die Antwoord before Tool........
Sun : Weekend / Pucifer / MuteMath /Gramatik G Eazt and Kevin Gates before Weekend............
Don't forget there will be several adds (Prophets..) But this would be great, would let me leave early on Sunday and get a good night's rest.
Do you think? I though they made it clear in a Facebook reply this was the lineup. Every other year I've gone they always added mid and upper mid talent, but with C3 running things, I am not sure. Of course there will be night shows so who knows.

Yeah, I saw a comment ask if there were any additions, and Voodoo replied to them saying 'this is the full lineup'. I'll look for it. They could be bluffing, but I doubt it. Prophets of Rage would be cool, especially considering the timing.

The Lineup by day and 1-Day Tickets will be available later this summer. Join the Voodoo Tribe E-List for update"
It's interesting how you can tell VooDoo, ACL and Lolla are all run by the same social media management. I don't know if I could handle the monotony of such a job. Who knows how many other accounts that person(s) is in charge of.

I think I'm gonna try to go to this for the first time! I almost went last year but I couldn't work it out. I've got a few people who are pretty interested in going. I just wanna be in New Orleans for Halloween, I've never been in general and I'm sure that's such a fun time to come!
As Longinus said, the social media account is clearly run by some dildo intern that is copy/pasting their posts to multiple fests.
I hope you're right!
Me too, but I am not very confident. I actually think that it is smart of Voodoo to scale back to fit the new fest grounds. They are saying 65 bands playing, whether the social media person sucks or not, they are getting that copy and pasting material from somewhere.
I'm not confident that there will be additions either. I just meant that you can't take their copy pasta responses as gospel. And I don't really care if they add anyone. It's already well worth my $100 GA pass.
Does anyone know how much single day tickets were last year ? If AF play Friday or Saturday I am considering just doing that day and then hanging out in NOLA the rest of the time since I have never been there
There are 69 acts on the 2015 lineup poster, and 67 on the 2016 poster. Take two bands off to put into Tool and Weeknd's asking prices. I think what we see is what we're getting.

Single days are like $100 at the gate. And not much cheaper online when they're released. Like maybe $10-15ish cheaper. You're better off getting a weekend pass and just going 2 days.
Sidenote: I'm f'n stoked that The Cult is opening for GNR in the Dome. They were the one band I was kindaaaa upset about missing due to the fest getting cancelled on Sunday last year. Just looked it up and Matt Sorum is no longer drumming for The Cult. Figured there might be a sit in or something with GNR if he was.
Super jelly about the likely Skrilldawg GNR sit-in in Houston.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is right across the board. It's super worth my $100. There will, however, be night bands added for the after-shows. Last year was blowaway. There should be some mashups (e.g. Funk Sabbath last year), electronica, a jam act or two particularly since people will be passing through or back for Hula.
So what I have so far, and I guess I'll start researching more in mid-July, is:
Tool/Puscifer - Out for Friday since they play Little Rock. I think Tool will either Headline Saturday or Sunday and expect Puscifer to be on the other date.

Just like longinus mentioned the day passes are overly expensive and you would be better off buying a weekend and then selling for a portion of the price and just going the day you want to go. They start out at $75/day before fees are by the month of the festival are up to $100. They weekend ticket is only $150 if you buy it now.

STS9 - Out for Friday (are in Live Oak, FL)
I agree, totally worth $100. The rumor I got (for outside of here) is that Tool is Saturday and Puscifer is Sunday. Considering that Puscifer is on the forth line of the poster, I would assume they would be a pre-pre-headlining show.
of Montreal playing Mobile Sunday night which I would love to haul ass back to town after Puscifer to see. Would be a difficult choice if it was anyone else headlining as I like OM 100x more than Tool or Arcade Fire, but I've seen them over 20x. Gonna depend on how much I like the new album that is about to drop and if I can make it to see them at the 40Watt in September.

Rumor of unknown validity is Prophets would be around 200k so out for any of the likely current venues. Champions Square is the right venue for them, but it's outside and Voodoo ends at 11. No go.
I guess Live Nation could (and they certainly fucking should) pick them up, but that's unlikely. Despite some off ticket sales in some markets, that's a show I want to see.
I don't think it's possible. Logic would say Weeknd is Friday. Tribe is in Live Oak. They will conflict with something Saturday or Sunday. The way shit is, I'm hoping for Gramatik to close Friday if vs Weeknd. 2nd option would be Porter Robinson Live.
Just bought my ticket for this. Any useful info to know for a first timer? Do they have after shows for this?
There are always shows around the city after. You should be able to find rock/jam, EDM, or a Superjam/mashup thing. I think they only Sanctioned a kickoff Thursday show in the past, and that has been selling out.
Some people wear costumes every day. It only takes a few minutes to get from stage to stage. Very few people go in early, so if you do, you can get rail easily for any show before 3:30 or so. That's about it except it's a party fest so expect lots of wasted people but generally not necessarily in a bad way. If you have any specific questions on the city or the fest someone will know.

What's the easiest way to get to and from the festival? Uber? I booked a hotel in NOLA but it's a hike from the festival ground.
