I hate having to fully miss Rebelution, but I want some of Excision and some of Ghost. You haven't seen Tool yet, so it's probably just as well if you post up. I'm just heading for as much of the front left as I can get and still be fairly near a bar and bathroom for the Tool set. Ghost will be to the right of Tool, and Rebelution will be to the left (facing the stage).
Saturday is going to be a f'n zoo. I'll be a caged animal. ----------------------------------- Republic announced a night show on Friday "Hosted by G. Easy." It doesn't give much other information, but I'm guessing he'll probably have other rappers and musicians come out and rap or sing with him?
WHOA! I somehow just blew right past this post. I have NEVER seen them sell out anything. That is awesome. This makes me much more likely to get LOA again in the future.
I got my Jackie O styled granny wig and cat eye glasses. I need to work on my moo moo dress now. Those f'n things are expensive!!! Shame on you ladies for not demanding cheaper apparel!

lmfao. I'm going to hit Walmart either this afternoon or tomorrow while at work. I'll be also looking for an elderly woman's sweater. Most of the muu muus are one size fits all, and I'm not /that/ tall, but I don't want to end up in a miniskirt and have small men's hands from guys in Trump costumes going up my dress and grabbing my *****.
Anyone purchase tickets for Mutemath pre show? This will be my 7th then 8th time seeing them. #fanboy
No. We are doing the House of Shock at 7pm that night (it is the 27th right?). I have tried to change the event from private to public but have been unsuccessful. I think that it is dumb that I can invite people through text or email address but I can't change the event to public.

Ohhh, I kinda want to do that this year! I never got a chance to last year. Are they open that Thur before the festival? And do you have to make reservations?

It's Vieux's birthday party and you could probably meet them over there. It used to be Top 1 in America and was co-founded by metal heads here including Phil Anselmo. It's on the dark/evil side but it's probably worth a visit if you haven't gone.

The House of Shock? Yes, open Thursday before voodoo and other week nights. No reservations but you can buy tickets in advance. Even with an advanced purchase it is a couple hours wait. If you're interested, we have a large group and you're more than welcome to get scary with us. Sarge and his lady meet us last year.
Maynard James Keenan, Puscifer, humanity and the chicks of UFC vs Donald Trumpzilla. Spoiler, Rhonda is still standing. Thank you Puscifer and why Voodoo is >.
Yeah, you can ride them in JP. They just can't come specifically to the airport I don't think (though the article below says that it's a $0.50 user fee per pickup there so apparently that's changed). That's the last I heard. I'm sure the Taxi Cab companies are fighting it as they always do. www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/09/jefferson_legalizes_ride-shari.html
Also I was looking at Voodoo's Twitter. Someone asked yesterday when they were replacing Charles Bradley, and they responded that he has not cancelled his Voodoo Fest concert. I find it hard to believe. I'll be at Puscifer but I might have walked over for a song if he really was still intending to play that one show.
Just got the email with the full map with all the icons on it, can't remember if it was already on here.
How much are the Zippos, for those of y'all that get them? $50 or so? Looks like there is more to do inside in terms of activities and art. They have "The Mortuary" inside the fest so that could def be a fun distraction, as this schedule includes many hours of downtime/dicking around. Def plan on exploring the fest fully.
The "pepsi" stage (FOH) is right next to the entrance, might get a little bottlenecky right there. The LOA set up looks like an improvement, and looks like it connects South Course and Altar stages so you just have to be inside to go to either's front row area. The map has to be misleading on the amount of turf the LOA is taking up at the main stage. Either way, the right flank looks like there will be plenty of wiggle room to get up close for that epic Weeknd set.
So... anyone going to Mid-City Masquerade this weekend?
I just heard about that. Dan Deacon is playing. It's a few blocks from my house and I think at the end of the block with Liuzza's. I had no idea that place even existed. We're doing GRiZ Friday, and a couple of my kids are going to G. Jones Saturday. I was trying to lay low and not do **** else until Voodoo weekend, but if you come and bang on the door and get me off the couch, I might be willing to go.
I don't know. I figured they were free for an email or $10.00 or something. I'm not paying $50.
LOA got them free this year, in advance but you had to fill out a form or something by some date. I saw an email that they are going to be sold. I am glad that I have gotten them in the past and I don't really need one.
Hopefully they will have the bandanas for free at the Toyota tent. I will not pay for that but I love having them.
EDIT: Just read the free stuff and BANDANAS are back!! I am so happy.

So I'm going to this fest for the first time this year (coming from Florida). What's a decent/average price to stay in the city? All the hotels I've seen are a few hundred per night, so I don't know if that's really the only or best choice. Any help is appreciated.
I've got a buddy headed down there that just sent me clips of All Them Witches. (He's forgotten that I sent him clips after SK.) He said he's been obsessed with them for a month and it's the show he's most excited about.

It's Top 3 or 4 for me easily. I was jamming on them last night.

Halloween can be expensive here though probably not as expensive as Mardi Gras or the Sugar Bowl. I'd recommend you use Air B&B or one of those types of services. You'll get a better deal overall in my opinion. Hotels here are always expensive (I think they're building like 5 new ones at the moment). If you don't need to care about drinking and driving, just stay in Metairie and drive or bike in every morning.
