Some guy over on the Osheaga FB event is claiming to know for a fact that The Red Hot Chili Peppers are headlining Friday night... Who knows if it's true or not, but I think it would be pretty cool if it is... It would definitely help to get my gf on board with the trip, too, one of her favorites

Id be happy with that but Im sure most others wouldn't from the typical reactions to them on this board. They're at Rock on the Range. They arent super tier moneymakers anymore. As a #3 that would be great for me. Never seen them and know enough songs to drunkenly sing along.
They had also announced some acts by this time last year. Soon.....
Any opinions on whether Osheaga VIP is worth it? More for the viewing spot than any other perks.
You only have close viewing at the "main" main stage (they have a double main stage area). But, the "gold" terrace option (what I would call VIP) isn't super expensive. They have a platinum option that supposedly had viewing for both main stages, but I couldn't tell where that was. I will say, if you want to be close for the headliners, it's worth it. The way the stage is set, there is not a whole lot of space to get close
Any chance Lolla has the right to announce first considering how many crossover acts there are?
They have released before lolla for at least the last 5 years - sometimes well before. before last year, they used to release about 80% of the lineup, then add about 20 acts after lolla. Last year they teased with an pretty early announce of 10 acts, since it was the 10th anniversary, and then the full lineup the end of march, with no late additions.
Damn hotels in Montreal are dirt fucking cheap. I guess thats because of the exchange rate. I went ahead and booked a hotel just in case they have a better lineup than Lolla somehow. But flights to Chicago for me are MUCH cheaper.
I'm still going to Osh, because I love Montreal and the whole vibe, but I think Lolla's going to hard to beat simply because they'll be a four day fest this year.

They announced Schoolboy Q on 2/12 last year so technically we are already behind on getting some type of info.

I could still see them doing something prior to full release or game release or whatever they do this year..
Are Alabama Shakes headliner worthy? I've never listened but they seem in line with Florence. Their tour dates seem to line up with an Osheaga appearance.
What is your success rate on Airbnb? Ive put in four requests so far. Two got no response and two I got a response for four times the original price. Getting discouraged and may just book a hotel.

Stage closer on that other main stage, during dusk/sunset. They're big, but not a headlining draw.

Less than 50% success rate for me. All those cheap ones right near the bridge arent being taken because they are looking for long term tenants, or so they say.
How much are hotels per night in the area? The thing is you can be a couple miles away from the venue and easily take the metro in as long as you are close to a stop. I lucked out and got a place for cheap, guy raised his rates right after he accepted me so I'm worried he will end up canceling on me and I'll be fucked out of a living situation at an innoportune time. That's why I'm currently looking for a backup, I would say the closer to summer we get the more legitimate places will pop up.

Hotels are from $35/night for a shared bath type thing then up. Most seem to be in the 50-100 per night range. Not bad at all but still more than an Airbnb rental. I havent even been looking all that close to the bridge. Mostly Latin Quarter and Little Italy areas so towards the fest but not walking distance.
They just replied to someone on Facebook and said there will be no lineup announcement before Tuesday and it will be a "one-two punch" of lineup and tickets at the same time (Noon Tuesday).

Definitely did not see this or see any verification of this. I didn't find anything on Twitter and you'd think it would be all over.
