Right now I'm driving up with friends who are passing through the NYC/NJ area, but if that falls through I'll look for the guy watching Adventure Time.

Friday: Silversun Pickups > Wolf Parade > hit up some bars unless my friends make me go watch Flume
Saturday: Tennyson/Hiatus Kaiyote > Lucius > The Barr Brothers > Logic > The Arcs > Best Coast/Mura Masa > Kaytranada > Todd Terje and the Olsens/the greatest fireworks display in the world
Sunday: MØ > Lane 8/The Cat Empire > Foals/RÜFÜS DU SOL > Skepta > Grimes > M83 > Disclosure > Radiohead!!!
Im still super conflicted about Friday night. Saturday and Sunday are planned out though. Skepta->Radiohead is such a great run of acts
I mean I am sure you could string together an okay schedule out of Friday... But honestly, nothing on there screams at me personally as something I have to go see.. Except for Wolf Parade playing in their hometown. That's a must.
Friday: Elephant Stone > Elle King > SOPHIE > Wolf Parade > Cypress Hill into Paul Kalkbrenner I guess, idk > Vince Staples
Saturday: Misterwives > Hiatus Kaiyote > Lucius > Frightened Rabbit > Kurt Vile > The Arcs > Best Coast > The Last Shadow Puppets > Todd Terje & the Olsens > Fireworks
Sunday: Alex G > Børns > Foals > Leon Bridges/Skepta > Grimes > M83 > Radiohead
Going to be a p incredible run of music between this and Radiohead at MSG on the 27th. Not to mention seeing DRA/Kurt Vile on 7/22 and Panorama on 7/23. So stoked!

i haven't prepared for this trip at all yet, even though it's only a week and a half away. i've also never been further into canada than niagara falls with my family. how do you guys recommend exchanging cash? should i figure out how to do it before i leave or bring cash and exchange once i cross the border into canada? roughly how much money should i bring (i don't really drink and will probably be getting dinner in/around the festival each day)?
Wow best afterparty news so far. Excessively pumped for this you guys! Plus now I get to check out a full set from Death Cab and still get my Kaytranada

I opted to use my debit card there to get cash, which I think ended up being cheaper than bringing cash to get exchanged.

Call your bank ahead of time and let them know you are travelling and then just use ATMs. Last time I think I only spent like $180 USD the whole weekend; but I also did alot of bar hopping.

Like others said, don't exchange cash. You get a much better rate just pulling what you need from an ATM. If you have a credit card, check to see if you have pay a foreign transaction fee in Canada.

As others have mentioned you will get a better exchange rate from ATMs, however it could be more expensive if your bank charges foreign exchange fees for doing so. Chase for example charges $5 for each transaction plus 3% of whatever you take out.
There is a Barr Brothers after show on Saturday night now at Theatre Fairmount.
Also for those arriving to Montreal early, Just for Laughs festival will be going on until July 30 and part of that is Bouffon Montreal which is a food truck festival. Lots of great eats, beer and wine to be had at the Quartiers des Spectacles. bouffons.ca/en

Sounds like the majority of my money will be spent on great food, thanks for the heads up on this one. Hope they have some tasty ciders.

So I just found out there's this huge comedy festival going on in Montreal the last two weeks of July. I'm arriving next Wednesday so I ended up spending roughly $100 American dollars to see a bunch of stand up before osh. Here's what I'm gonna see from Wednesday to Thursday - Jimmy Carr, Lewis Black, Tom Green, Andy Dick, Ari Shaffir, and Midnight Surprise hosted by Blake Griffin (lol). Pretty incredible if you ask me. The comedy festival is called Just For Laughs and it runs until Sunday the 31st if any of you guys are interested.
