Looking at this lineup for me was how I imagine many people first watched The Phantom Menace. You believe so whole heartedly nothing but good is to come only to be slightly disappointed by your first viewing. Then, feeling like a spoiled child with your hopes having been set so high, you look again with reigned in expectations the second time around. Nope, the flaws are even more noticeable. Questions pester you in the back of your mind. Hey where's Sufjan Stevens? Why is Jar Jar still talking? Is Macklemore the best they could do? Sure they have LCD, Pearl Jam, and Darth Maul, but is that really enough to warrant me paying my own money for this? Finally after the third viewing, you can't outrun the truth.
This sucks and (if you bought pre sale) you just want a refund.

There's going to be some weird transitions if J Cole, Ellie Goulding, and Macklemore are supposed to pre-headliner for Pearl Jam, Dead & Co, and LCD Soundsystem.

After last year I had pretty much planned on skipping 2016 anyway. After seeing this lineup there are only two acts which I will regret not seeing and those acts are Ween and Dead & Co.. As much as I'd love to see "The Dead" on the farm (With John Mayer too!), I simply can't justify the money and a 14 hour drive for two acts.
Edit: What are the chances of a John Mayer set as well? Also, "The Dead" are there! Pretty much a shoe in for the Superjam, amiright?

I feel the exact same way except substitute Tame and CHVRCHES for Ween. And bonnaroo is a 45 minute drive for me!

Also, among my initial thoughts on this lineup is that it definitely has more good female artists than I can ever remember (although still not enough).

OMG what is the Carrie Underwood clue? So, it can't be Carrie Underwood right? Lineup is alright, waiting for headliners to drop though, and maybe they left a couple people off. We shall see.
I love this lineup. Sorry for y'all who don't. My picks:
Adventure Club Allen Stone Beach Fossils Big Grams Blood Orange Boy & Bear Bully BORNS Cashmere Cat Chris Stapelton CHVRCHES Circa Waves Civil Twilight Daughter Death cab for Cutie Ellie Goulding Father John Misty FIDLAR Flosstradamus Flux Capacitor Grace Potter GriZ Haim Hundred Waters J. Cole Jason Isbell Judah and the Lion (go Belmont!) Kamasi Washington Keys N Krates Leon Bridges Lord Huron Lucius M83 Mister Wives Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats Oh Wonder Purity Ring RL Grimes Saint Motel St Lucia Tame Impala (Late NIght Set) TWin Peaks Two Door Cinema Club Tyler the Creator Vince Staples Vulfpeck X Ambassadors Zeds Dead Pearl jam Dead lcd
Holy crap.... I'm gonna have a hard time with scheduling
The top three aren't missing. Nobody is going to be above Pearl Jam, Dead & Co, and LCD. That just makes no sense.
They weren't on the leaked lineup. That's what everyone means by saying the top 3 are missing. Two misunderstandings in a row is pretty bad... step up your game!
While I love Inforoo as an overall community, sometimes the pessimistic nature of a large bunch is overwhelming. Nonetheless, I'm pumped for all of the following acts and I'm excited to explore even more ... Don't knock the undercard until you've checked out every last one of these quackers!
allen stone - big grams - bluegrass situation superjam featuring ed helms - boy & bear - brett dennen - bully - borns - cashmere cat - chris stapleton - chvrches - con brio - daughter - death cab for cutie - father john misty - fidlar - goldlink - griz - j cole - jarryd james - jason isblell - judah & the lion - kamasi washington - leon bridges - lettuce - the london souls - lord huron - lucius - m83 - marian hill - miguel - nathaniel rateliff & the light sweats - the oh hellos - oh wonder - rayland baxter - saint motel - sam bush band - superjam - tame impala - third eye blind - twin peaks - two door cinema club - tyler the creator - vince staples - ween
In my book, that's a crazy good list to be STARTING with before even checking out the rest, and of course don't forget the later club stage additions, random additions (last year that brought us Kacey & DeAngelo) and whoever Conan will be sending our way (I'm more than happy if it's just the suspected headliners btw!).

Haha, the sad thing is I'm pretty sure half of them aren't joking about Drake.

Yeah! Why would these mother fuckers want Drake when they could get a J Cole/Macklemore double billing!?

Radiate Positivity mother quackers.
Totally agree. I don't get it when people freak just because their favorite band they wanted isn't there. If you don't recognize artists you like then you discover new ones. It blows my mind these guys are festival people.

It's a matter of potential vs. results. Beck is playing two fests the weekend before Roo, how didn't Roo get him? Grimes is playing shows right around Roo, with that weekend free, how did they miss her? Our top line features what might be the two worst popular rappers and neither of them are at any other fests, so Roo went out of their way to fucking book them. A lot of us recognize artists, we just don't like them. I'm middle of the road with this lineup, there's enough that I'll probably have something to see most of the weekend, but it's really just unexciting. Third Eye Blind is one of the most surprising names on there...
What's bad is that with the right four or so names (that are completely plausible) added this lineup could be great. Bonnaroo already has the most interesting top line, but one of the most "meh" undercards. I really didn't think they'd blow it with who is touring and with who is available and with Roo's budget. Hopefully we're missing a few names and get some choice additions. I'm not asking for anything major, just something to give it a little umph.

I think I will be opting for Mountain Jam this year where I will get to see Beck headline. If you're excited for Third Eye Blind, don't get your hopes up. I saw them 10 years ago and it was pretty bad, can't imagine they have gotten much better since then. Which hip hop acts are you referring to? Tyler and Macklemore? Tyler puts on a hell of a show but his last album was pretty meh. As for Macklemore... I didn't attend his set in 2013 but I heard nothing but great things.
