Holy shit. I mean, it was an obvious downgrade, but putting them side by side like that...Jesus Christ. They could have literally just rebooked the hip-hop and EDM acts from last year and it would still be more exciting than this year's.

Honestly, the hip hop undercard isn't all that bad this year. There obviously no comparison between J Cole and any of the former top hip hop acts, but I think people will feel differently about Post Malone, Goldlink, and Lizzo by June.
If you swapped Chance the Rapper with one of the top 2 acts, it'd be on par other years.
I honestly doubt the Bonnaroo app developers are trolling us, but it stands to reason that if the headliners weren't added to this list, the list is incomplete. 100% Wishful thinking, but just maybe there are a couple artists besides the headliners who aren't on this list, to make the lineup just a little bit less crap.
I actually think there's a decent chance this is the case. Granted, I really do like this lineup and think people are writing it off because they either don't know a lot of names on the list, or know a decent number but don't like some of the ones that they DO know. Still, I think an addition of a couple solid names in addition to the headliners could up the game of this lineup significantly. Maybe enough to muffle the angry yells of the inforoo mob.

2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
Not a very likely theory here, but more than a straight fake. Maybe half the lineup is real and half isn't. Not sure why they would do that, but it makes more sense than it accidently being released. It seems like they would have learned from the last time the lineup was leaked.

That's fair - I've never heard of those three acts. Chance would be great though.
There's a lot of acts that your a lot that I want to see here. So I'm still a little disappointed but I can def get my money's worth. But just a few acts out of this list would have pushed it from eh to must go ELO Ryan Adams Joey Bada$$ Modest Mouse Action Bronson Doomtree Young Fathers The Arcs Bob Moses
At less we have amazing headliners
Book this festival and let me know when and where I need to be! I'll pay for camping even.
Happy to have Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats on the lineup. Hope they get to have an evening/night slot in a tent.
The Wood Brothers are another act that Bonnaroo introduced me too (still remember the goosebumps of hearing them play on of the first sets I saw at what was my first Bonnaroo. They've only gotten better since then. They'll likely be a Sunday day act.....maybe the Bluegrass tent even though they aren't really bluegrass.
Wood Brothers was one of my favorite discoveries from 2014. It was the perfect set to catch immediately after I had finished watching the ball of energy that is St Paul and the Broken Bones for the first time. A great cool down and really dug their live sound. Plus, knowing all my friends told me I was stupid to not stay at the Other Tent and watch Sam Smith makes me even more sure I made the right choice in reterospect.

I agree with this. Honestly wish Chance were in place of Macklemore.
Also super pumped to hopefully see Vince Staples again, barring conflicts.

Thanks for pointing out some of the lesser known (to me, anyway) rap acts. I feel like such an old man going through a big list of band names that I can't tell are for shoegaze or EDM or rap acts or weird finnish yodeling twins. Will have to check those out.

Of the 21 initial acts I liked, I have seen none of them live yet (although I will have seen Vince Staples by June) and I've already found some other stuff on the lineup that I haven't heard of that I like as well. Any other additions will be extra bonuses for me, I'm not expecting anything huge though. This lineup does way more for me than 2015, I actually like it quite a bit.
This lineup seems to be aimed squarely at the "college kids who say they listen to all genres of music but really just listen to the radio" demographic. And they did a bang up job.
Hahahah ok ok I agree with you. But I gotta challenge you as well. How is this that bad for a festival then? Throwback headliners, main demographic appeal undercard, and then a few sprinkled surprises (vulf) in there. So the artists are just not your tea, or the spread of type of artists?

Every name on there will be playing. They aren't going to list names that won't be there.
The only thing that I could buy into would be that they left off a few acts besides the headliners but I don't think it's likely.
I know billing ultimately doesn't really matter, but ... how the hell is this thing going to be billed? I'm struggling to find who would be from 7-20, assuming Ellie/J Cole/Tame is the 4-6.
Pearl Jam * Dead and Company * LCD Soundsystem * J. Cole Ellie Goulding * Tame Impala * Macklemore & Ryan Lewis * Death Cab For Cutie
...
M83 * Ween * CHVRCHES * Miguel * Big Grams * Flosstradamus? Is this really our second/third line?
I know. How dare these people have a certain level of expectation for a festival that now costs more than $400 to attend. The vibes alone are worth the cost of a GA ticket.
I get it, y'all like to pick on me because I actually enjoy the little community Bonnaroo creates just as much as the lineup. I have seen a bunch of these artists before. But I'm excited to see them at Roo specifically. I'd personally pick a roo show over a regular show anytime, just because in my Nashville experience, people get more excited for the artist at this festival than at a show. But that may be Nashville being too pretentious.
Dude, it's not about picking on you. My post has more to do with your comment: "It blows my mind that these are festival people". From my perspective, you're suggesting that people who enjoy going to festivals should just suck it up and fork over $400 regardless of how much they like the lineup "because it's Bonnaroo!" I'm sorry you're having difficulty understanding that some people simply don't want to drop $400 on a festival for acts they're not interested in.

in 2014, the scheduled was leaked the same way, via the bonnaroo app. I have no doubt this list is real. No need to make up scenarios. It's not the full line up, but these names are real.

I don't actually think this is a "main demographic appeal" undercard. The 4-15ish stretch is really lacking and doesn't have many of the proven old-timers you except from Bonnaroo. I'd always bag on them for booking too many old men headliners, but booking stuff like ZZ Top, Alice Cooper, Lionel Richie, Beach Boys, Billy Idol, EWF, and Tears for Fears in the undercard was what set Bonnaroo apart from other festivals and made them unique. This year it's, what, Mavis Staples and Steve Martin? Third Eye Blind? Meh.
The bottom 15 or so names might be a big improvement this year, but there's no meat on the bones in the middle.

i posted GoldLink's newest album in 2015 Album of the Month, on one of the last few pages. Go listen to it
Watching everyone move through the stages of grief really is quite amazing.
I did pre-sale so I'm committed at this point. No grief here. I've spent the morning setting up playlists on spotify and getting familiar with new artists. It's not the best lineup imo but after researching the lineup, I'm sure I'll find plenty of new artists to go see. And if I don't find any, I will get to spend more time exploring the farm and doing things I've yet to do.

Which is why I said it seems like they would have learned from that. Just throwing some ideas out there. I'm sure this is the lineup, but for those that hate it its not official until its official. Just hoping for more than the 3 acts we know and maybe 3 more that won't sway anyone one way or the other.

If the headliners really are LCD, Pearl Jam and Dead and Co then this lineup can't really come as a surprise. It reminds me of a reddit thread I read a few weeks ago entitled "Is Bonnaroo Gonna Get Anyone From this Decade?!?!", where the poster lamented the fact that none of those headliners are cornerstones of modern radio. I'd bet he/she is over the moon now.
We got what we wanted out of the headliners. Now let the kids have their second and third lines.
