Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I kind of agree with both sides as you expect something really special for the 15th, but it's hard in this crazy festival world to really please everyone.
I'm still on the fence overall as I'm def doing shaky knees in my hometown and may try to travel to see PJ once they announce it.
Bonnaroo being in the heartland and not coastal in this growing festival landscape might be a disadvantage at this point. And I see no reason to expect anything for the 15th year. If anything, we should be excited for this being the first year of the new era of under LiveNation.
PJ will be touring, and apparently so will The Dead, and will be closer to you than Bonnaroo at some point.

Trying to deal with my denial and mixed emotions right now. Even considering selling my ticket once it arrives in the mail. Here's a question (looking for coddling and assurance answers): Is there any reason to believe that ROO may throw us a curveball and drop some big surprises, you know, given that it's the 15th Anniversary and all? Or is the whole "15th Anniversary" schtick just a hype marketing tactic? I find it hard to believe they could fuck up this bad. Their Reddit AMA that they did last year now appears to be naughty deception as it effectively got me all hyped up for this year.

Do you remember "The best is yet to come!" And then they gave us Billy Joel.

Well, after listening to at least a little bit of the 65(!) or so acts I hadn't knowingly heard before this week, I'd say I'm disappointed but remaining somewhat optimistic even if this is it plus rumored top 3. I'm still going to have some fun, but I'm going to have to work harder for it. So many acts with only one album to their name this year it seems and not much to go on as far as live expectations for a lot of them either. Might end up doing more 3-song-and-outs than ever or I might embrace more new music than ever like back when I first started this silly hobby but now with veteran guile.
It remains great to have all the headliners to look forward to plus ween near the top but that 5-20 range is sadly almost entirely not my bag. Haven't dealt with that before but I haven't wanted to see all the headliners before either. Good comedy and a couple legitimate additions and I won't even care. I'll be there anyways because these particular friends can't be convinced that other festivals exist and I don't see them otherwise. Schedule can (and so of course will) ruin all of this somewhat forced optimism in time.

Of course its a schtick. But ask yourself this at the moment. How many bands do you know on the current lineup, how many have you seen, and how many you want to see off the bat. Think about the headliners, and realize we most likely have a few more than the top 3 left to expose. Plus artist additions, comedy, and the superjam, plus if you are a Roo vet the new additions you will see on The Farm, is it worth it to not like this lineup? Keep in mind that the average person sees 25-35 acts out of the average 130.

So I have been to two flosstradamus shows, and they're pretty fucking intense. Their songs are basically just hype music, and while it might not be the deepest show in the world, if you are in the right mindset, it's a pretty fucking fun show. Crazy amounts of mosh pits. I'm also 20 and in a fraternity so I guess take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I know mosh pits and bro'in it up with your frat bros at Flosstradamus seems pretty turnt right now, but your best case scenario is that your 30-year old self looks back at your 20-year old self with a healthy dose of disdain and regret.

Very good points. There are definitely a few acts on this lineup that I consider to be top priority/bucket-list artists. Looking on the bright side of things, maybe I'll actually have more time to get rest on the farm and deal with fewer conflicts this time around. Last year wasn't my favorite either, but in the end, I still had fun.
I've done 7 straight Roos. With Wednesday arrivals and Monday exits, I've spent a month of my life on the farm. Bonnaroo is the brand I have the most loyalty to out of any product or event. There are years I've gone in the past when the lineup sucked but nothing as bad as what this lineup is. There's still so much excitement and nostalgia when I go back to Roo and that is the primary driver for me, not the lineup and that sucks. I'm worried that if I don't go this year that I might never go back. I'm glad I keep waiting on getting a Roo tattoo, it could be real embarrassing in 10 years if they keep trying to book Lolla lineups.
My virgin skin will probably remain tattoo-less because of my commitment issues or whatever, but otherwise this sums up exactly how I feel. I'll probably end up going and having a good time anyway, but there are so many other ways I could spend the money and the vacation time, neither of which I ever have extra of. I almost missed 2013 and was really glad I didn't, and I'm afraid if I skip one it will break the cycle and I'll be done with Roo, and I don't ever want that to happen. There are a few acts I'd love to see, and it is Roo after all, but the lineup is certainly not very compelling. Decisions, decisions...
Could it be possible that Bonnaroo heads pick headliners and Live Nation picks the undercard? Tin foil time
I think Bonnaroo picks the lineup while Live Nation siphons off $$$, kicks puppies, poisons children, and causes thunderstorms during Roo. At least that's what used to happen before the unholy alliance.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Embrace hope.
I'm just trying to explain their appeal. Music festivals are extremely popular with my age/demographic and this is the type of music that sells. I also really enjoy/prefer Dead & Co, pearl jam, and other solid names that bonnaroo got, but I also enjoy going to some EDM cheese shows as well. I don't understand where all of the hate comes from :/
Excited for: Father John Misty Purity Ring Waxahatchee
Want to see but wouldn't be too disappointed if I missed: Bully Cashmere Cat Chvrches Daughter Death Cab For Cutie Ellie Goulding Kamasi Washington M83 Natalie Prass Tame Impala Third Eye Blind Ween
Ehh. Sure. Maybe. If I have nothing else to do: Beach Fossils Big Grams Blood Orange Brett Dennen Fidlar Grace Potter J. Cole Jason Isbell Lord Huron Miguel Tyler, The Creator Vince Staples

Disdain and regret that his 20 year old self didn't get turnt in fratty mosh pits broin it up. Meanwhile, his 30 year old self can no longer hit on college girls without getting maced, and his feet and back are too soar after standing for the last 25 minutes watching some band with banjos noodle away on stage, and will be at the back in the shade if you need him.
Enjoy your youth and cheesey EDM. Nobody is too cool to throw down and rage every now and again. #stoprageshaming

Honestly....this may be part of the issue. I'm just getting too old.
Definitely a ton of acts I want to see and will have a great time at but Bonnaroo has been changing their target audience for a few years now and it's not necessarily for me. I'm more suited at Newport and Mountain Jam based on the last few years of lineups.

I just got chills thinking about hearing Vulfpeck on the farm.
You can shit on my electronic rock bands and my enjoyment of the experience and not just the lineup.... But shitting on vulf?! Come on. These guys are pretty much small town legends at this point, especially with the Jazz teaching community, I know music professors here that worship them. They're so talented and just love to have fun. Can't let you get away with saying that until you at least check out another song.

I I totally feel you dude. I remember seeing the leak and was pumped to talk about it with people on inforoo but they hated it... I was shocked. It's nearly a dream undercard for me. And I'm 21, and I have friends on social media looking to go because it's the first lineup that has wide enough appeal for our age group. I love the whole older artists too, but we are in a minority, and the older guys that care on here are in the minority of that minority. Plus with like death cab and two door and those indie acts, those were big in our formative middle school years so there's that recent nostalgia draw too. And people love to take their opinion as fact on this forum, but if somethings popular, there's gotta be at least a few people that like it.

X Ambassadors would somehow feel "right" at Bonnaroo if shoved towards the bottom of the lineup and 50 acts worth seeing above them. Instead it kinda exacerbates an already fledgling lineup.
Big let down. Thinking of passing on this year but this lineup has 2 things working in it's favor 1) LCD and PJ pit possibilities 2) The Fact that I know for sure I wont be able to make it in 2017 and 2018 cause a) 2017 there's a 98% chance my brothers graduation falls on that Bonnaroo weekend b) 2018 there's a world cup going on in Russia. Gonna really start digging deep through allot of these acts I don't know to justify making the trip and hope for a killer schedule. Or Primavera could drop a really killer lineup in the next couple of weeks and I'll see you all in 2019
Excited for Pearl Jam LCD Soundsystem Dead and Co Blood Orange
Nice bookings but I have plenty of other options to see them or have already seen them multiple times Kamasi Washington Tame Impala Vince Staples M83 Father John Misty Death Cab for Cutie The London Souls Leon Bridges Bully Chicano Batman Fidlar
This could be fun if I find the right level of drunkenness Jcole Shamir Kurt Vile and the Violators Two Door Cinema Club Big Grams Grace Potter Miguel Purity Ring Tyler the Creator
I guess I'm not as down on this lineup as others since I'm just not into Hip Hop or Electronic acts for the most part, which this lineup is severely lacking in those genres.
Acts i'm familiar/somewhat familiar with that i'd like to see:
Dead and Co Pearl Jam LCD Allen Stone Bluegrass Superjam Superjam Chvches Death cab for cutie Father John Misty Grace Potter Haim Jason Isbell Lettuce Mavis Staples Papadosio Sam Bush Band Tame Impala Ween The Wood Brothers
So 19 I know of, I don't know a lot of the names on it, with some research I'm sure I could find more I'd like on it. Also this is the first year in my five years that I've been genuinely excited for all 3 headliners, really contrasts with last years headliners which ranged from "alright" to "meh". Personally I think Inforoo is overreacting.

Your fuck off list. I like it
Tbh, 3/4 of those artists I only know one song, but I hate those songs with a fiery passion
