Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I went back through the /r/Bonnaroo posts and I think we are definitely missing the top lines. A lot of the artists on bonnagoos excel list were confirmed, and that's missing some, as well as multiple people saying that Portugal is for sure confirmed (a girlfriends friend aparantly). I think Bonnaroo may drop a bomb of surprise Tuesday. But either way I'm in.

I'm convinced that this isn't the final lineup. That Clue #7 is leaning towards Sujfan Stevens(Carrie & Lowell), plus his tour dates check out....and he has no south dates after his date at the gorge. Then currently the highest billed EDM act is Zedd's Dead or Flosstradamus? Nah that's not accurate at all. Here's what I think happened, I'd say there's about 50 acts here that will be on the initial lineup, and a majority of these acts that no one has heard of that are super small, and have less than like 2,000 listeners on Spotify are actually Club Stage acts that were accidentally leaked. As slim pickings as Roo may have had due to Shaky Knees, some parts of Hangout, not to mention whatever Beale St Music Fest has....there's still more to be desired than what has leaked. No way Ween and Mavis Staples, and Lamb of God are our legacy acts either. More is coming on Tues. Third Eye Blind listed that high? There's more coming. The first 2-3 lines will make all the difference, or maybe I'm just super optimistic because I know Roo can do better. We will find out!

Also if you try and do a mock schedule, at least 3/4 of the lineup are which, tent, or Thurs acts. That's how hard it is to take this leak fully seriously.
Excited for: Father John Misty Purity Ring Waxahatchee
Want to see but wouldn't be too disappointed if I missed: Bully Cashmere Cat Chvrches Daughter Death Cab For Cutie Ellie Goulding Kamasi Washington M83 Natalie Prass Tame Impala Third Eye Blind Ween
Ehh. Sure. Maybe. If I have nothing else to do: Beach Fossils Big Grams Blood Orange Brett Dennen Fidlar Grace Potter J. Cole Jason Isbell Lord Huron Miguel Tyler, The Creator Vince Staples
Fuck off: Haim Halsey Macklemore X Ambassadors
It is so crazy to me how quickly people can turn on a band. Maybe it's because I cradled X Ambassadors from 2012 to here, but how can they be a hate. Do people not like them? That is a band that is passionate about growing as musicians from the start and to me haven't lost what made them a good act. I remember I saw them open for The Lumineers in Dec 2012 and they were the better act. Maybe I am in denial, as I remember Imagine Dragons early fans getting swallowed in the nothingness, but I think X Ambassadors stands for something great. When I first heard them playing on popular radio I was beyond psyched.
Can someone explain the Thursday band thing? What makes a band a Thursday band? Have any of these bands even put on their tour schedule Thursday at roo as a place marker?

Well, all three of those bands you listed have less than stellar reps with the people I know that go to roo, so....

Honestly, I only know their song Renegades and I hate it

I personally don't understand the hate either. I only know their two singles(renegades and unsteady) while renegades is overplayed by now, I have no idea how they've reached any sort of level of hate.

Didn't think about it at first but this is 100% accurate. Like after the first 3 lines, how can you justify putting any of these acts on EITHER main stage. It just doesn't make sense. Could they possibly have the cafe and small stages booked already and some of those bottom feeders (and there are PLENTY of them) were part of the leak? Soooo hard to say. I know it's unrealistic in every sense of the word, but could this have been calculated to leak some names just to drum up any kind of buzz only to drop a far better grouping of acts on Conan (i.e. top 2 lines)?
Eh I'm going either way, it's my girlfriends first time, but figured it was worth holding out a slight bit of hope even though I'm pretty content with dealing with the fact it's just a total shitzy lineup compared to what they SHOULD have gotten.
Ok, so this is my last conspiracy theory (Coping Mechanism) about this not being the entire undercard. So everyone agrees that it's strange that the headliners were left off the app right? And I assume that Conan isn't going to sit there and announce 90+ acts on his show. My last conspiracy theory is that they left off the headliners and 2 or 3 other acts for Conan to announce and leaked the rest of the undercard through the app.
I know mosh pits and bro'in it up with your frat bros at Flosstradamus seems pretty turnt right now, but your best case scenario is that your 30-year old self looks back at your 20-year old self with a healthy dose of disdain and regret.
Embrace hope.
I'm just trying to explain their appeal. Music festivals are extremely popular with my age/demographic and this is the type of music that sells. I also really enjoy/prefer Dead & Co, pearl jam, and other solid names that bonnaroo got, but I also enjoy going to some EDM cheese shows as well. I don't understand where all of the hate comes from :/
You rage on before your knees cant handle it young renegade. Deep down all of us been there done that folk wish we could dive back into a pit once in awhile. Some may not be physically able to dance in such a manner anymore, mentally able to deal with you god damn kids, or audibly able to withstand the material. At least this guy knows this to be cheesey wobbles and shit and has better taste in music outside the bronado.
All of you that think this isn't a pretty much full lineup are nuts. This is the same thing that happened last year - people thought we'd be getting like 8-10 additions, and we got two.
It's funny that the people that are really psyched about this undercard also seem to be the ones that think there will be more acts. Why would they bother booking more if you're already gonna go based on what's been seen?
Totally cool with people if they like this lineup, but if you think this is a good lineup, at least for Bonnaroo's standards, you're just wrong.
Can someone explain the Thursday band thing? What makes a band a Thursday band? Have any of these bands even put on their tour schedule Thursday at roo as a place marker?
Thursday is mainly for the up and coming acts that have one, maybe two or three albums of material and are either just starting to break out or are on the cusp of it. Tove Lo and Courtney Barnett last year are perfect examples. Bands on the leaked lineup like Halsey, Leon Bridges, Misterwives, Natalie Prass, Hundred Waters, etc. seem like perfect Thursday bands, but this lineup feels like there's room for all of them from Friday through Sunday.

Once again this is just wishful thinking.
lol they didn't leak that out on purpose
I KNOW, RIDICULOUS THEORIES IS HOW IM COPING WITH THIS.
The acts that I'm excited to see (without doing any research)
Dead & Co Pearl Jam LCD Soundsystem (Maybe the best group of headliners for my taste) allen stone big grams blood orange bluegrass situation superjam featuring ed helms chris stapleton clutch death cab for cutie ellie goulding father john misty fidlar grace potter (even though the solo album does nothing for me) haim j cole jason isblell lamb of god leon bridges lettuce lizzo the london souls lord huron lucius m83 mavis staples nathaniel rateliff & the night sweats papadosio sam bush band sara watkins steep canyon rangers superjam tame impala third eye blind two door cinema club tyler the creator the wood brothers

Halsey and Leon Bridges on Thursday would be disastrous.

Does anyone think Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats will be a Thursday band? I feel like they'd be a fun band to close out one of the tents. With only one album, the only song that they have that's close to "mainstream radio" is S.O.B.

People said the same thing about Tove Lo and it turned out just fine ... I'm probably underestimating Halsey's popularity considering her billing at Coachella, but to me she's a perfect Thursday headliner. Leon Bridges has one album, as popular as it may be...I think giving him too high of a slot would be equally "disastrous."

Pretty sure Leon bridges is playing a show elsewhere on the Thursday of roo.

Uhhhh remember Hozier?
Yeah...I thought his billing was outrageous too. I suppose Halsey could get a slot like that, doesn't mean I have to think it's good.
EDIT: However you feel about certain bands I mentioned doesn't change my original point. If this is really the full undercard then we're going to have a lot of Thursday-caliber bands playing stages on Friday through Saturday...
Yeah...I thought his billing was outrageous too. I suppose Halsey could get a slot like that, doesn't mean I have to think it's good.
Halsey sold out her Madison Square Garden show like eight months in advance. Unless you're a huge band, that's basically unheard of for a young artist like that. She's gotta at least play Which.

Disdain and regret that his 20 year old self didn't get turnt in fratty mosh pits broin it up. Meanwhile, his 30 year old self can no longer hit on college girls without getting maced, and his feet and back are too soar after standing for the last 25 minutes watching some band with banjos noodle away on stage, and will be at the back in the shade if you need him.
Enjoy your youth and cheesey EDM. Nobody is too cool to throw down and rage every now and again. #stoprageshaming
Thank you and everyone else for all of the kind words. Can't wait for my first of hopefully many Roos. Here's to some more big name additions (PL, Portugal the man, ATCQ)

Fair enough, she's way bigger than I realized. But the other bands I mentioned are definitely Thursday-caliber on my opinion, but it feels like they almost HAVE to play Friday-Sunday.

Louisville with Andra Day- both will be weekend acts per scheduling
May Tycho May Phoenix June Rooo July MMJ and Margo Price August Queen with Adam Lambert August Roger Waters (Bucket list #1) August Spoon and Portugal the man Sept Depeche Mode Sept Pilgrimage Fest
Leon bridges will be in a tent at around 5-6 on Saturday probably. And Friday night he'll show up during Macklemore's set for that song about prescription drug abuse they do together
Just take Halsey and Leon Bridges out of it because I clearly underestimated their drawing power. I like Hundred Waters and Natalie Prass but they should be playing on Thursday, and if they do who is going to take up the afternoon spots Friday - Sunday? It's just a thin undercard however you look at it.

I figured they would be a Thursday act until i saw the leak. I think he fits into the "should be a Thursday act but will play the weekend because of a weak line up" category
Realistically people should accept this fest for what it is now. If there is affinity for the brand due to past glory and it's unique, unmatched atmosphere - that's great.
But as a business? It's Livenation's 3rd biggest fest in the US. It doesn't sell out, and it's on a farm in an area that's not surrounded by any of the biggest population centers. This is what it is.
