No way I can make a case with the hubs, the only intriguing acts on the lineup for us we have already seen (most multiple times) and it's just too big an expense for us both to travel from CA. Can't justify it this time around.
Some good acts for sure, just not enough panache for the cash.

For someone who hasn't been to many, if any, festivals - this is solid. Headliners are great, there are some sets in here that are going to be stellar (M83, Tame Impala, Kamasi, Father John).
For anyone who's been going to festivals the past few years, I'd say this is uninspired at best. Bonnaroo has higher expectations for me than other festivals would, ex: Governor's Ball, Shaky, Hangout. This is the 15th Anniversary and this is what they pull together?
- Easily the weakest year for metal/heavier acts. Clutch and Lamb of God is pretty disappointing - EDM is full of generic crap acts: Adventure Club, Floss, Keys n Krates, RL Grime, Griz - two of these would be okay, but not five, especially when there's nothing to balance them out - Chvrches is one of the worst festival acts I've seen, waste of a spot especially since there's a lack of Grimes
I agree with everything except the last point. CHVRCHES is phenomenal live.
Yeah I'm not really sure why some people around here despise CHVRCHES.
Snagging like 3rd row from rail at Landmark for their show was my highlight of that weekend. They were incredible live
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

That's the big thing. I'll probably end up going even though I shouldn't spend the money but I love the atmosphere/meet-up as much as the fest but this year they are making me work to defend it haha. Unless big additions or unknowns were included it's a very basic lineup.
They are usually the acts I look most forward to. It felt like previous years they were repeating some acts that had already played Thursday. As long as I have 4 or 5 acts I want to see I'll be set but I need to do my homework.
22 acts I'm interested in seeing without the headliners and before my pre-fest research. That'll do just fine.
Same here.
Not to say I'm not disappointed but I'm like Charlie Brown with the Roo lineup and I get that lineup football pulled out from under me every year. At some point I have to stop blaming them for my disappointment.

Bingo! It wouldn't surprise me that the folks who put on Roo count on this big time.
I have and I agree, they have a crappy atmosphere. It's swimming with entitled snobbish rude teenagers.
...sounds like you haven't been to Bonnaroo, or any festival, lately.
I would have to agree that one annoying drawback of coachella is the young crowd and their lack of respect. It wasn't completely invisible at roo but it was drastically less than coachella. I believe it's that driving and camping commitment that keeps out the dipshits. The setting is nice at coachella. I like the food and beverage options and the Yuma is awesome. Most of the sets I go to at coachella are much chiller but if you hit up anything popular you can guarantee some little dipshit and her dipshit friends rolling through like they run the joint.

me neither. This is disapointing, but a bit of a relief at the same time. I had to take a year off at some point. Looks like this is the one.

Outside of the headliners, I find this lineup to be incredibly weak, uninspiring, and unexciting. J. Cole AND Macklemore? You've got to be freaking kidding me. And is Bonnaroo ever going to bring back Beck, Modest Mouse, and Hot Chip?
I gotta say this is the lineup I know the least about, but my girlfriend is already excited fer a few acts so that's cool. I might have to do some research finally, especially as to Thursday acts.

Wait, have you guys seriously never run into the "massive group of bros and broettes locking arms and pushing through the crowd" at Bonnaroo? It happens constantly. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. There are just as many dipshits at Bonnaroo as anywhere else.
Yes. There certainly are.
Obviously everyone's yearly experiences are different but there are plenty of bullshit "shouting matches" around who has been holding what spot for how long and then groups of assholes who think it's totally cool to force their way through a crowd just because "they really GET the music more, maaaaan". I've seen people moved to tears over dealing with assholes who kept pushing and pushing and bullying their way to a better spot.

I just went from disappointed to pissed off. I need you both!

Having been to both multiple times, can confirm this as my experience at both fests. If anything I feel less squished/pushed at Coachella because the crowd is a bit more spread out due to the screens/larger tents.

Have you been to Bonnaroo within the past five years? Honest question, not trying to be confrontational. You tend to brag about not attending Bonnaroo, so I'm just curious.

Heck, CPK almost sent a man to the moon over this kind of thing at moogfest (the dummy called me a b word for resting my feet in between bands in the MIDDLE of a group of about 20 of our friends, after he kept pushing them into me), and that was just about the most laid back festival I've ever been to. Assholes are in every large/semi-large crowd. It's unfortunately unavoidable.
dungen - ellie goulding - father john misty - jason isbell - kamasi washington - leon bridges - lettuce - m83 - papadosio - tame impala - tyler the creator - ween
acts i am familiar with and am interested in seeing. so that's 12 acts, plus 3 headliners, 15 acts i'm familiar with and am interested in seeing. but i am very excited about all 3 headliners.
dungen is the only act on the list that is surprising and exciting.
