No idea. But why would they have the entire lineup up on the app minus the headliners? Were the headliners not completely locked in? I've heard that it does come down to the wire like that sometimes. So I guess that's possible. Other than that, I have no explanation.
They obviously are testing the lineup on the hard core fans who frequent this message board year round to see if it's accepted and will ensure good vibez before deciding to let it ride or finalize the ink on the contracts for the big acts between LCD and Ellie Goulding.
I watched one of those "Rock it Out" blogs that they always post. Man that Alex Young guy really does come off extremely douchey and pretentious. Thought that criticism was just lobbed at him unfairly because he gets news from here. But some of the shit he was saying with a smug smile on his face had me cringing.
I found this article supremely irritating yesterday
Yeah I saw this yesterday too, and it pissed me off something fierce. I have to think Sam Smith was lying. Why he was lying? I don't know, other than maybe he was just trying to be funny but came off sounding like a moronic asshat.

Bob Seger and Dolly Parton are fucking shit up on the final poster, y'all will have me to thank.

I think he was pissed off because he just won a legit award for his song, and someone essentially asked him if Radiohead's version was better. It was a shitty question, I feel for the dude.
...what motivation would they have for leaking an incomplete lineup? And not just like a couple names to wet your whistle, but pretty much the entire goddamn thing?

Considering we don't have any clue what the process is for the Bonnaroo web team when it comes to updating the app and adding the bands to the lineup I'd say we shouldn't be assuming anything just because the headliners weren't there. It's possible there are a few other names missing from the "leak" but perhaps they add the headliners in last? Maybe they add them in a different way because they are in fact different from the rest of the lineup. There are a number of reasons that they could have left the headliners out of the lineup that was leaked.
I do not think it was intentional. I believe it was a mistake. It's possible we have a few other names than what we found on the app but I'm not holding out hope that there's going to be 5-10 game changers.
Correct we don't know the details. But speculation is what we do here. But if I start typing in names in alphabetical order, why leave out pearl jam ect. And don't tell me no headliners are locked in.
Who says they typed them in alphabetical order? Maybe the app just sorts them that way and they were given a list of bands without the headliners. Maybe they will display the headliners slightly differently (different color or an image/icon next to the name) so they weren't being worked on in the app yet. Maybe the press managers for the main acts didn't provide the specific bio/write-up they want for the festival. As I said.....there are a number of conceivable reasons for the top 3 names to not be included.
I believe headliners are locked in. LCD and Pearl Jam have basically been confirmed by various stories and news sites. Deadco seems likely and I doubt they'd be holding off signing on the dotted line for some reason.

Yeah that's true, it was a bad question to ask. Still no need to lie about not knowing who Thom Yorke is.
Pretty unbelievable that some people think Bonnaroo would leak a fake lineup with real names. Why would they needlessly drag these bands into their stupid prank when they're not really on the lineup? Best hope is that there are a few more names besides the headliners that didn't leak. Any other theory requires lots of tinfoil.
I agree. This is even more insane than when people thought 10,000 Days wasn't a real Tool album.
Fake, incomplete what's the difference. It's definitely not all there

Fake either implies that there are "leaked" names that won't be there, or that the image is unofficial. And while it might not be the entire lineup, it's likely only missing a handful of non-cafe and non-comedy acts.

By "definitely" you mean "hopefully"
We are most likely missing 1. The 3 headliners(which we already know) 2. One round of adds with the highest billed in the 15-20 range 3. Comedians 4. Cafe acts 5. Silent Disco/Jakes Christmas Barn DJs

Coming from someone who personally likes the line up. I do agree it is lacking in the top. I think they held back the top 2 lines, so 5-7 acts to save for a surprise on Conan. I am not really sure that this "leak" was accidental.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Are you seriously suggesting that J. Cole, Ellie Goulding, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Tame Impala won't be on the top 2 lines?

It totally was and they were pissed.
If only The Big Capp Dogg were here, he'd let us know what's really going on.
This happened to me last year. I ended up just staying up all night doing Christmas Barn, Kalliope, The Grove, etc. and then waking up in the afternoon. I just don't care to keep up with the latest iTunes commercial hipster pop. Nor do I feel like I'm missing out by not seeing Bleachers or whatever.
Im just curious as to how you were able to sleep into the afternoon in that oven that we call Bonnaroo
EZ-Up over my tent + battery powered fans. I still baked like a potato, but when you fall asleep at 6am, you still crash at least 6 hrs. You just wake up sweaty and dehydrated.

Macklemore wasn't last time, not really sure that he would this time. I am not into hip hop or rap. Based on my friends I would say J.cole would be. Ellie probably would be too. Not so sure Tame would be that high. But there is what 7 names in the top 2. I think there will be another EDM. I guess Floss could maybe, maybe be their biggest EDM. But that would make me sad. And I still am hoping for that Shpongle add.

I know I don't post here much, but since everyone is getting their tinfoil on I'm gonna through my educated guess in.
I don't think that Bonnaroo screwed up or it was a leak. I think that Bonnaroo had to live test the app to make sure that it actually worked and wouldn't crash (like HBO Go during the Game of Thrones premier) when everyone simultaneously logs on Tuesday night to see the lineup. Instead of putting every single name on, they added the majority in order to work out the bugs but still left off the more exclusive artists. This would explain why the headliners were left off, why the Superjam was so weird, and why the lineup looks so vanilla.
I mean, Bonnaroo is releasing the lineup on Conan, why would they intentionally leak their lineup when they have an exclusive contract to do it on national tv? They did it later at night hoping that no one would notice but if someone did and found out that Chvrches and Two Door Cinema Club are playing ANOTHER festival, who cares? Conan will still release the headliners and the 3-4 "surprise" acts on his show which will be great for him and Bonnaroo.

......or, I'm still in the denial stage.
This is a more feasible theory than a lot of others I've read.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
snarfdapig you're in denial stage still. I'm bouncing between that and realistic almost hourly.
Goddamnit.
I literally went through all 5 stages yesterday and accepted the fact that this lineup is bad but there are still quite a few bands that I'd really like to see and I'll have a great time. But now I'm back to denial again.
Bonnaroo: The only music festival that will make you go through the 5 Stages of Grief. Twice

I think that's the only feasible theory. But in that case why would they test it with 93 bands? Why not just like, 10?
