As someone who's going for his first time you guys are depressing the fuck out of me
Don't let the man get you down. Last year they were all like this too, it was my first year and I was a little worried it wouldn't be what I had built up in my mind. There was no need to worry, we had an amazing time, saw some music we really loved, and I was very glad we went. I'm pretty sure this year will be the same
....when you say "they", we're all Bonnaroo attendees like you are. We just know the festival can, and has, done better.
They would never go live with an incomplete lineup. Opps we just happened to go live without any headliners. What someone bummed their chair and hit publish just before typing the headliners
You do realize that festival lineups have been unintentionally leaked on apps before, right? This isn't unprecedented.
didn't this happen last year too? Or maybe the year before?
Here's my attempt to reingratiate myself: Purity Ring fucking blows
I like Purity Ring. The singer is very talented, and their live show is mesmerizing. Really neat lights, and when I saw them, their singer Megan crowd-surfed. It was pretty interesting. What do you hate about Purity Ring? I'm genuinely curious. I get their newest album isn't great, but their first one is really great.
2017: 2/24 Twenty One Pilots 4/1 Radiohead 6/7 Glass Animals 9/10 Modest Mouse 9/21 Arcade Fire 9/29 Kings of Leon 10/3 Foster the People 10/17 The xx 10/22 LCD Soundsystem 11/8 Bon Iver

I love them but I hate that they're taking up space on the mid to high tiers of festivals. If you've seen em once, I feel like there's no reason to see them again.

Yeah, that's Bonnaroo's fault. I would much rather Grimes be in their place, but I'm just going to make the most out of an OK lineup and enjoy myself.

for a third opinion: hi, my username is 'shuck' And I Love Purity Ring
(I even liked Another Eternity, but admittedly I think that's because I think I have more of a fondness for Alice Deejay/Scooter synths more than most people do.)

Oh dear, I picked the only band people like, haha. Apart from the name and album artwork (which is obviously secondary, papadosio seems kind of fun despite Jesus Christ that's a shitty name) they sound like a watered down CHVRCHES - a band I already don't like.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Shrines was a really solid album, Grandloves is one of my favorite synth-pop songs. Second album is just kinda derivative, none of the new songs come close to highlights from Shrines.

The Bonnaroo lineup has leaked many times.
One of the earliest I remember is they put the lineup up on the site early (similar to this app business....but it was back in like 2007 or something when apps weren't even a thing) and someone happened to be checking the lineup page at the right time.
It was leaked on Myspace a few years after that when someone from The Roots (I think the Roots...maybe someone else) posted the full lineup on their myspace page too early.
It was leaked in the past based on Bonnaroo's twitter page all of a sudden following a ton of suspected/likely artists on Twitter (and when they found out we were watching they started to follow obvious fakes like Ricky Martin and Backstreet Boys and stuff).
It was leaked on the local news site that promotes Bonnaroo when they were uploading a bunch of images in preparation for the articles (and we noticed).

Haha that's the first I've heard of this. That's grand.

I forget what year it was but it was a few ago. Probably when Twitter was first getting really big. But yea....at some point they started following ridiculous bands and we were like "They're onto us".

I was searching for the year where we found out Bonnaroo's twitter started following artists that would be on the upcoming lineup. I stumbled upon this and it's amazing on a few different levels:

It leaks a lot.
I meant leaking in this exact way last year or the year before. By someone checking the app at the right time and screenshotting what was there. I think it may have been incomplete, but I feel like this exact scenarios happened last year too. But yea, Roo's line up always gets out early. It honestly makes it all so anticlimactic, even when it's a good line up. I sorta prefer the build up or BLAM or the sudden, random, drop like Coach.

I don't remember what you guys are talking about. Besides what Insider gave us I don't recall getting a full leak since before Blam started. Out of those years, 2014 was the only one I didn't pay much attention to, but I don't recall hearing about one that year.

Well yea, but who's fault is that? It's our own.
That's like if you were to follow along with all of the trailers, TV clips, and other news articles about the new Star Wars movie and reading theories/storyline articles that are based on rumors and piecing together the plot based on what you know and then being disappointed that the movie didn't surprise you.
If we spent less time on here and obsessing over who may/may not play the festival and just let the lineup drop happen it'd be a huge difference.
