It's honestly not that exciting... I bought my Gov Ball tix when Real Friends dropped, and it's hard for me to pick out artists on Roo's lineup that won't be there. I'll catch LCD at somet point, they're the only artist I'm missing here
(Late Night) is next to Tame Impala to take up space so you won't see how short the lineup is... the same reason "The Arch" and "The Fountain" are headlining a brand new 'experiences' section. There's just not much going on past the first 10 (very short) lines
That's the optimistic way to look at things. With J. Cole, Macklemore, Halsey, and The Chainsmokers in the top 20, how can Bonnaroo's undercard be any worse next year?

Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.
Has it been discussed if the Dead & Co. (2 sets) means two nights or will both sets come in same performance on a single night? I recall Phish in 2009 being on the poster with '(2 shows)' which was 4 sets but that was 7 years ago so don't know if we can trust it to be working the same. The main reason I ask this is can't tell if LCD will actually be a headliner or if they are effectively the #4 like Beastie Boys were in 2009. Guess it doesn't make that much difference though if headliners are no longer unopposed anyway.
Damn good lineup...geez...Pearl Jam, Dead and Company, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, Super Jams, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, dang...don't like it...stay at home and make some more room for those of us who do.

I'm interested to se how many more minutes they cut off the tent acts this year. 45 mins for the majority last year. Then again the undercard is stacked with bands that barely have more than 45mins of recorded material
God damnit, I can't take Bob. Many of us folks are clearly out because of the lineup, good for us. For those of you who do go, I hope you do enjoy LCD, PJ, Tame Impala, M83, Lennon/Claypool, and all the small acts and I can't wait to here how y'all had just as good of a time as any other year and how the Roo pit was the best place to see LCD in the country. Now give it up and take it to the respective threads... I'll see you sane folk in Panorama thread
2017: 2/24 Twenty One Pilots 4/1 Radiohead 6/7 Glass Animals 9/10 Modest Mouse 9/21 Arcade Fire 9/29 Kings of Leon 10/3 Foster the People 10/17 The xx 10/22 LCD Soundsystem 11/8 Bon Iver

This is a pretty fair point, the diminishing set times have been noticable for a while... When I started they were 75 min for most tent sets, but they've steadily dropped off to resemble other fests. It's too bad, because the long set times (and extended LN) was one of the biggest things that made Bonnaroo stand out a few years ago.

Aside from my friends going to Roo, that has always been my reason for preferring Bonnaroo over other fests. The short set times is the the number one reason I haven't been able to get myself to do Coachella. But, at this point, Roo is slowly just adopting the ways of all the other fests and it's a serious bummer. The latenights are still present but they lack the uniqueness and unpredictable nature that they they used to have.
The only good thing about The Chainsmokers playing Bonnaroo is that this song will be played loud af on the Which Stage muhahaha
There's another great thing about the CS's playing: they'll draw a huge crowd and leave lots of room for us to attend better sets in not too crowded tents.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
