Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'll be honest. I am not opposed to a bunch of 25 year old girls all over the farm. Though it always tends to be a very even split guys/girls. Maybe a bit more guys.
I'm interested to se how many more minutes they cut off the tent acts this year. 45 mins for the majority last year. Then again the undercard is stacked with bands that barely have more than 45mins of recorded material
45min for the majority on Thursday, Fri-Sun they were mostly 60min.
There seems to be a lot of backlash everywhere. I'm just wondering, was it just as bad last year? I know there was backlash on inforoo, but I was generally still pretty excited. In fact the only real issue I had was DeadMau5 being number 3. Then when I went to Bonnaroo last year, having a weaker lineup didn't really affect the experience at all. I just wonder if it's worse this year and if I'll see a noticeable difference at Bonnaroo.

I think more backlash this year.
But similar to last year things are calming down pretty quick. The people who aren't going to Roo discuss other festivals, the ones who are going to Roo start exploring the lineup and speculating about the schedule.
Come June there will be a shitload of people at the farm. Most that go will have a blast and come back here and talk about it, those that don't will have fun at other festivals and come back here and talk about it. We'll all say to each other "cool glad you had fun" then start 2017 speculation.

I'm really actually happy that it happened but can anyone explain what happened with the leak and why Craplemore and Ryan Lewis weren't on the lineup ?

They are in the lineup. Try looking under "M" instead of "C," maybe?

Yup. They've (unfortunately) been there the entire time.

Help guys, I can't find Crackleberry & Lawrence Reptar
Started going thru the artists on Spotify with the girl I wanna come with...she's blonde and 25...
She knows most the artists on the lineup and loves them if she knows them.
So blonde 25 year old girls are who Bonnaroo is catering to.
Does hair color influence music taste? Learn something new every day!!!!
The age demographic part is valid - but specifying that it particularly appeals to BLONDE 25 year olds? Do the brunette 25 year olds have noticeably more refined music tastes? Come on dude
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Everyone needs to fight for a cause. Even when they don't

Yeah the Sam Hunt-Flosstradamus-Zeds Dead-Adventure Club wall of shit is where it completely falls off. My stomach flips every time I read that line going down
Financially, I'm sure whoever put this lineup together thought they were in a good place. From the perspective of people who have good music taste, they went off the deep end.
The lineup is just chock full of new age pop that's of questionable taste. Acts like Halsey, Macklemore, Sam Hunt, Brett Dennen, Marian Hill, The Chainsmokers, X Ambassadors, Ellie Goulding, Misterwives, Saint Motel - flavor of the year, generic stuff.
The middle of the lineup is what's suffering this year, whereas last year it was more of the upper-mid tier that was disappointing. Headliners + Tame + M83 + Band of Horses + Death Cab + Miguel is pretty solid for me. Not on par with previous years, but good enough.
The middle is just awful - Tyler, Lamb of God and Blood Orange aren't enough to salvage lines 6-11 on the poster.

I just got an email from Bonnaroo reminding me tickets were on sale, emphasizing "that weird night in the campgrounds". If the overall lineup is lackluster, I can still have the experience.

To me that reads as: "Shit, we kinda shat the bed this year, guys. Let's email blast all the people from previous years and remind them that the real fun is in the campgrounds! (And hopefully they won't notice an additional fee to camp now!)"
I've defended the Bonnaroo lineup since day 1. But with every 2nd and 3rd(?) teir fest that announces LCD as a headliner, the bonnaroo lineup looks weaker and weaker.
Yeah, they seem to really be pushing ticket sales harder than previous years. I suppose they just aren't selling well because of the price increase + car passes and this being a good year for nearly every other festival. But I think the most affecting aspect is the Bonnaroo Identity crisis that's happening right now. I see either people complaining about the headliners or the undercard, but not really anyone who is in favor of both. I think it can best be illustrated with a Simpsons reference:
They keep adding crap music to get people who don't go to festivals to come, but they're driving off people who want something better, alas what this leads to is two half dead aquatic creatures.

I'll probably take some heat for this, but this lineup is not nearly as bad as it was when I was freaking out about the app leak. None of us really felt like the acts missing from the leak helped the cause of the lineup much.
But thinking back on that leak, here is who has been added since:
Band of Horses, Charles Bradley, Bob Moses, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, The Internet, Steve Gunn, Lane 8, Promised Land Sound, Hinds, Polyenso, and a few more promising club acts.
It seems like most of us have also uncovered major gems that we weren't familiar with previously. I know this happens every year, but it was more important for it to happen this year. Cymande, Vulfpeck, Con Brio, and Dungen come to mind for me.
Pearl Jam * Dead & Co * LCD Soundsystem * Tame Impala
Death Cab for Cutie * M83 * Ween * Jason Isbell * CHVCHES * Miguel * Chris Stapleton * Band of Horses
Leon Bridges * Father John Misty * Purity Ring * The Claypool Lennon Delirium * Tyler The Creator
Charles Bradley * Kurt Vile * Blood Orange * Bluegrass Situation Superjam * Vince Staples * Cymande
Lettuce * Cashmere Cat * Fidlar * Ibeyi * Sam Bush * Wood Brothers * Daughter * Kamasi Washington
Bob Moses * Shamir * Dungen * Steve Gunn * The Internet * Twin Peaks * Bully * Natalie Prass * Chicano Batman
Papadosio * Vulfpeck * The Knocks * Waxahatchee * Hundred Waters * The London Souls * Con Brio * New Breed Brass Band
Lane 8 * Hinds * Amasa Hines * Arkells * Polyenso * Promised Land Sound * Sun Club * Sunflower Bean * The Record Company
This is still the worst Bonnaroo in modern times, but I'd say the gap has closed between this year and last. Also, I no longer agree with everyone saying that all of the mid tier fests have better lineups. If those mid tier fests actually had this lineup (our headliners particularly), and expectations were corrected for, it would be looked at in a completely different light.

I still say it's better than last year. Last year I went back to camp every day except maybe Sunday. This year I'm not seeing where I will have any time to do that. Helps a great deal that the headliners aren't deadmau5 and Mumford but this undercard is deep where last year there were just a few undercard bands I was interested in though I had more interest in those than the best of the undercard this year.
Worth noting last year could have been much better but I missed the entirety of MMJ, Gary Clark Jr. and d'angelo due to sheduling (just that I recall off the top of my head) The shallow undercard becomes a huge issue when they all play at the same time. Sunday could still be totally ruined but I'll be busy for the first three days no matter how bad they fumble it.
Agreed. This will be my 4th consecutive year, and the only thing I'm sure of about is that it beats 2015. I figure I'll have to go to find out if it beats out 2014/2013.
