LOL. Not sure what's going on this year, or what the hell kind of audience Bonnaroo is trying to appeal to, but that Saturday late night lineup is looking as bad as Saturday LN 2012, minus a D'Angelo Superjam.
Friday (7) Tame Impala Bryson Tiller The Chainsmokers Purity Ring Zeds Dead Blood Orange Bob Moses
Saturday (5) Miguel SuperJam Big Grams Adventure Club RL Grime
Apparently I have terrible taste in music compared to most of you because I'm pretty excited by these late nights. I usually try to see full sets during late night so I can usually only check out 2-3 sets each night. Tame Impala, Purity Ring, Blood Orange, and Bob fucking Moses on Friday looks fantastic for me. Miguel, Superjam, and Big Grams will keep me more than happy on Saturday as well.

Skrillex in 2012 is better than every late night EDM playing this year save maybe RL Grime. That night also had Alice Cooper and GZA doing Liquid Swords.
Also, I find it really hard to support any festival that booked all of the following: Macklemore, Halsey, Sam Hunt, X Ambassadors, Goldlink, The Chainsmokers, Post Malone and Bryson Tiller.
Never heard of Bryson, but this dude is just a D-grade Weeknd.

I also have passionate opinions about artists I'd never heard of until 5 minutes ago.

It's not even close.
Just now realizing why that Skrillex '12 set was so insanely packed......most of bonnaroo didn't know what the hell else was happening

Hoping this means Claypool can be involved in the superjam.
edit: Claypool-Lennon Delirium has a show on Sunday, June 12th in St. Louis. So I dunno if Les Claypool is gonna wanna be up all night the night before.
then again, he did tell the crowd he was tripping really hard on mushrooms at Primus LN in 2004, so maybe he gets a little loosey goosey.
I feel like Bonnaroo late night used to be downright magical. Great artists, the chance for a legendary set if you were in the right place at the right time...
Tame Impala has that chance this year. And maybe the Superjam, maybe.
Tame will be great but they just play the same setlist at every show. It'll just be a good Tame Impala show but after midnight.
My expectations for the Superjam are super duper super duper duper low. Like they'll get one of the Chainsmokers to curate it and have Post Malone lip sync Billy Ocean songs while Sam Hunt takes his shirt off and walks around smiling.

If I could somehow catch Tame Impala and Bob Moses I'd be pretty pleased with my Friday LN experience. Problem with Tame Impala is they'll be LN Which and by the time I leave LCD it'll be too crowded to hear anything (yay which stage).
Saturday RL Grime is the only act I'm particularly excited about. So positive postjack says at least there won't be any conflicts.
So which acts this year get screwed playing a daylight set when they should obviously be LN? Not being snarky, I'm seriously curious as to what you folks think.

Alright - the real question here is why has Bonnaroo seemingly given up on unique gets?
I'm not talking about Pearl Jam and Dead & Co. They're already touring and Bonnaroo veterans.
But the days of finding things you can ONLY see at Bonnaroo are pretty much gone. I would think it was a by-product of an oversaturated market if Coachell and Jazzfest weren't still pulling it off.

Blood Orange is a set I would have been satisfied with being in a daytime tent spot. Now, I hope he doesn't conflict with Tame Impala who I'm already worried about overlapping with LCD. Saturday I only really care for two of the late nights, so I guess I'll be at Miguel and/or Big Grams who I also think would have been fine in the day. Maybe it's just because of their song Fell In The Sun and I can picture people flying down the water slide while Miguel performs Waves.
I like Big Grams but at the end of the day they only have 7 songs. Do they play Phantogram/Big Boi songs too? Or else you're looking at a 35 minute set, if that.

Maybe because no one shows up? How many times can you book acts like Nick Cave and Atomic Bomb and see them play to a half empty tent before you decide fuck it. Unlike other festivals Bonnaroo has to worry about ticket sales.

Ween, Lettuce, Claypool Lennon Delirium, Cymande, M83, Hell Dosio on Thursday means their set probably wont be longer than an hour and they deserve to play till sunrise. Kind of a downer wanted to get down to Lettuce till 4 AM too.
This must have been their intentions so we can all watch Dead n Co play for 6 hours straight, which is about the only thing that would make this acceptable.

I'd assume Lettuce will be in the Superjam again, so two LNs would be overkill.

Sad, but way too true.
We're the ones that have been deceiving ourselves for years. It's just so obvious at this point that you can't hide from it.

Lots of opportunity for napping during the acts booked to play Sunday as well.

If Miguel and the Superjam have minimal overlap, it might be a decent night.
Remember when Bonnaroo booked Skrillex' Superjam, Flaming Lips, Frank Ocean and Nick Cave to play the same time slot, and inforoo could not stop bitching about it?

Alas, there are still fests like Levitation, FYF, Fun Fun Fun, Moog, Pickathon, and Big Ears for us.
