i could see them scheduling Ellie and Macklemore on What/Which back2back like they did with Vampy Weeks and Phoenix in 2014. VW was billed 5, Phoenix 7. Ellie is billed 5, Mackles is 6.
back to back like they on the cover of lethal weapon back to back like when VW was 5 and Phoenix was 7 woah
Woah, very important and very pretentious Looking back you'd think Bonnaroo would've learned it's lesson Schedule's weighing heavy on my conscious Conflicts and there's way too many options

I think the hype around Macklemore has died a bit considering his latest album only sold about 50k first week. I could see him being put on the which with a lot of other acts going on at the same time.

Ya I just checked the '13 schedule, I didn't realize he was basically unopposed (that's weird), also had Lamar up next. I still think with the weakness of this year Mack will be What

The album is #4 on the billboard top 200
Debuting at #4 isn't impressive considering The 1975 debuted at #1 and Anthrax got to #9. Downtown is not nearly as big as any of his previous singles and those tracks are played out.
I'm working on a "worst case scenario" mock. Since Friday is the worst day for potential conflicts I've only completed that so far. Tell me what y'all think:
thanks guys glad y'all are enjoying the schedule. I've added worst case scenario Saturday.
These are brutal. Post Malone's hour and fifteen minute slot might be the worst thing about Saturday. Ween during Dead & Co. on Sunday genuinely made me laugh though.

I know it's worst case scenario but there's no way Post Malone gets over an hour. I'd be surprised if he got more then 45-50 minutes tbh. He barely has enough material to fill a half hour set
Sidenote, what a bad booking. If they wanted to get some of that sing-songy hip hop stuff without springing for Fetty Wap, they should've gone with ILOVEMAKONNEN

ah crap you are right about Post Malone. They may book him for 45 minutes tops but based on what I've read about his Okeechobee set they'll be about 30 minutes of "performance". I understand he does White Iverson, then plays some songs that aren't his while he walks around the stage, then does White Iverson again to close the set. Why this guy thinks he can tour on literally one song I don't know. I guess because festivals are dumb enough to pay him to do it.
Anyway this is intentionally a terrible schedule but it also needs to be somewhere in the realm of reality, so i shortened his set to 45 minutes, but I also still need to conflict RL Grime with Adventure Club so there is an unrealistic gap now between Post Malone and RL Grime.
Moments I'm particularly proud of are of course LCD conflicting with the majority of Tame, M83, and Vince, and a good chunk of Chvrches, while only leaving Flosstradmus and Chainsmokers after that. Also Pearl Jam conflicting with Lennon/Claypool and the Superjam.
And as already mentioned the hour on Saturday when only Macklemore is playing.
Ween conflicting with Dead & Co is my own personal nightmare I had to include. Will that happen? OK probably not. But if Ween closes Which I think there is a good chance they will bleed over into Dead & Co if they play over their scheduled set end time. And I can't leave until Ween closes with Poopship Destroyer.
But in all seriousness most mock schedules are created with a sense of optimism, and that's all well and good, but I think it is useful to consider worst case scenarios as well. I'm trying to make a schedule so bad that when the real schedule comes out I'll be like "well this isn't so bad".
on the schedule Pearl Jam will have no overlap. but there will be overlap
mumford did have some overlap last year. a tiny bit of slayer and a good chunk of tycho. i hope you are correct, i'm not a fan of opposed headliners, but it is possible.

Part of why i want Claypool/Lennon during the day is I dont want to have to decide when to leave Pearl Jam. Mostly it's that Les needs to lead the superjam (though Kpowers, i believe, offered the Claypool/Lennon seamlessly transitioning into the Superjam idea which would be a mighty fine thing.)
Made some changes to my mock. Mostly just rearranging acts so that the bigger acts are more generally evenly distributed later, plus Mackelmore playing an LN Which and some shifting around on Sunday to accommodate what appears to be Dead & Co.'s time slot:

sweet mock, i'd have a great time with a schedule like this.
Thursday: Con Brio > Vulfpeck > Papadosio > Hermitude/Bully > Cashmere Cat > The Floozies
Friday: Dungen > Kamasi > Tyler/Leon Bridges > M83 / Zeds Dead > LCD > Tame > Chvrches/Griz
Saturday: Chicano > Chris Stapleton > RL Grime > Ellie > Claypool > Pearl Jam > Clutch/Lamb of God or Superjam
Sunday: Bluegrass Tent > Ween > Dead & Co.
A schedule like this would leave me very satisfied. Being able to do M83 > LCD > Tame > Chvrches would make a lot of people happy. I think Chvrches would be a rad late night, and a good contrast to the womp womps going on elsewhere, but it feels more like they'll get an evening slot on a stage.

I don't understand why so many people think that M83 isn't going to get a late night set. Any other year there'd be zero mocks with them NOT playing late night, but I guess everyone is just deluding themselves into thinking they won't conflict with Tame Impala?
M83 is THE late night act. I can't think of any show I've been to that I felt would be more appropriate as a Bonnaroo LN set than M83.
Also, it's a shame this isn't the Hundred Waters that you're gonna be getting. Really wish they had booked this band two years ago, they're starting to lose their magic that made them such a hit in Florida. I guess LA will do that to you.

I think it's because (1) as you said, people don't want M83 and Tame to conflict, but also (2) it's hard to imagine M83 in a tent, and with Tame LN Which, M83 ends up Which pre-HL.

Wow, this is kind of a bitter sounding post and it doesn't even belong in this thread. I wholeheartedly disagree with your sentiment though, their sound may have changed a bit between albums but they still retain all the qualities that made them an interesting band and they're incredible live band now.

I totally understood what you were doing haha, I just thought some of them were intentionally funny. Yeah, Friday's LN mess is a worst case scenario for a lot of people haha.

Tame Impala LN What takes care of that.
Also, Frank Ocean got put in a tent. If that can happen, M83 could easily get a tent slot.

The schedule for that day is EDM heavy. So, I think that it is logical to believe that the the LN tents will be filled with button pushers. That leaves the pre-LCD slots to be chaos. This would have J Cole -M83 - Purity Ring conflicting. Honestly, I don't see Chvrches as a problem as they could play a stage during the time slot before the JCole/M83/Purity Ring conflict.
Regardless, Friday 7PM to 4AM should provide for 9 amazing hours.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Made some changes to my mock. Mostly just rearranging acts so that the bigger acts are more generally evenly distributed later, plus Mackelmore playing an LN Which and some shifting around on Sunday to accommodate what appears to be Dead & Co.'s time slot:
Saturday Steve Gunn -> camping at What (if I get to see/hear Nathaniel Rateliff & Chris Stapleton while securing a great spot for PJ, I will be very happy) -> Pearl Jam -> Superjam
Sunday John Moreland -> Jason Isbell -> Kurt Vile -> Father John Misty -> Dead & Co

At this point I think it's more likely they're not LN. For one, it would be insane to have them in a tent (I know, big acts have been in tents before..nevertheless) and there are a ton of LN tent potential acts scheduled for Friday: Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, Griz, CHVRCHES, Purity Ring. The Chainsmokers will for sure be a LN Which act. Last year when Deadmau5 was LN What, there was only 1 LN which act on that night...so even if Tame gets on What stage it's not guaranteed M83 will be playing LN Which.
And yes, nobody wants to see Tame and M83 conflict.

I think the other argument besides what others have said is that M83 has tour dates on Saturday and Sunday, too.
thepeppers Are you camping on Mike's or or Stone's side?
It will mostly depend on how early I get to What and how the crowd is forming. I would prefer to be on Mike's side, but would be happy either way.
Do you already have it planned out?
Probably Mike's side... I will be there probably about 30 minutes before they open up the What Stage field. You need to sprint to the pit line entrance once they let you in. I befriended an ex-Marine before '08. It turned out to have an unplanned benefit as he was fast as hell. I am slow and fat so I am screwed by how they open up the What stage.
