Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
People are reading way too much into the bus times. There probably was some sort of inability to secure buses for later than 2AM. That simple.
Lack of buses would be a stupid problem to have for a festival that knows what it is doing a year in advance. But the way Roo has botched things this year so far, it would not be surprising.

I don't know what would be worse - ending the music at 1:00 a.m. when you have a private farm in the middle of nowhere with zero applicable noise ordinances, or being unable to secure buses and forcing anyone who isn't staying on site to miss music or risk getting stranded.

With several updates on the Schedule Confirmation Thread, I revamped my mock.
A few notes on some of the changes:
1. I originally had JCole>LCD on Friday and Pearl Jam on Saturday, but I swapped these to see what it'd look like. Dead&Co stays on Sunday for me.
2. Moved Macklemore to Pre-HL before PJ. I feel like he's too high on the bill to not be a Pre-HLer. There are other possibilities, but I'm going with this.
3. Moved Lettuce from LN to Which opener. This leaves a LN jam band gap, but maybe the SuperJam will be it this year (or perhaps an artist addition?).
4. Moved Ween to Sunday Which closer. I guess this could be someone like Macklemore or even Death Cab, but Ween kind of makes sense to me there.
5. Kept Ellie Goulding at Sunday What Pre-HLer. Schedule Confirmation Thread has her at Saturday, but Sunday still a possibility and fits the Florence spot from last year.
6. I left a couple of spots for Artist Additions, but I could definitely see there being none this year (other than café/comedy), assuming they stick with similar numbers as last year.

Lennon/Claypool during LCD? What terrors hath thou wrought good sir?!

Love Thursday (Vulfpeck -> Twin Peaks -> Bully -> Fidlar) and Sunday (The Wood Brothers -> Chris Stapleton -> Ween -> Dead & Co.). Friday would be a clusterfuck, as I would have to miss M83 in that scenario and have a shitty spot for Tame. Saturday would be very light for me...would def be in the pit for LCD.
Random little bit of info for mock-makers: Post Malone has a thirty minute set at Okeechobee, so I wouldn't expect him to be anywhere but Thursday.
The bus thing, if not just a typo, has the potential to make this Saturday LN worse than 2012 Saturday LN. It also makes me wonder if there's more of a reason why they put the late night designation by Tame Impala

Based on that article, where Cos said "Ween are playing long reunion sets", anything other than LN would be silly IMO.
Also as stacked as Friday is looking, I still think Friday will be
J. Cole 8:30-10:00 (What) vs Chvrches 8:45-10:00 (Which)
LCD 11:00-1:00(What) vs Chainsmokers 11:30-1:00 (Which)
Tame 1:30-3:00 (Which) vs most likely M83 in a tent (2:15-3:30)
Who goes on What before J. Cole then? Last year it was Alabama Shakes > Kendrick, I think CHVRCHES > J. Cole makes a lot of sense, and then they can give that Which spot to M83

Two Door Cinema Club could easily work 6:30-7:30. I'm still insistent that CHVRCHES wouldn't go over well on the main stage in mostly daylight.
Personally I was thinking
What Stage: Two Door Cinema Club 5:45-7:00, J.Cole 8:15-9:45, LCD Soundsystem 10:45-12:45am Which Stage: CHVRCHES 7:00-8:15, M83 9:00-10:15, Tame Impala 1:30-3:00am
For me that would work because after being up front for CHVRCHES I could stick around and have an amazing spot for M83, with still plenty of time to head over to LCD Soundsystem. Or I could just work my way up to the pit line during J.Cole. But anyways you could even throw The Chainsmokers in between M83 and Tame Impala on the Which Stage during LCD Soundsystem.
Friday and Saturday Pre-Pre-Headliners the last two years (with their billing in parentheses)...
Friday 2014: Janelle Monae (30ish)
Saturday 2014: Damon Albarn (15)
Friday 2015: Alabama Shakes (9)
Saturday 2015: Hozier (12)
Friday 2016, my current mock: Haim (10)
Saturday 2016, my current mock: Halsey (11)
Jason Isbell (13) and Chvrches (14) are also excellent Pre-Pre-HLer candidates. Two Door Cinema Club would fit the Janelle Monae billing (30ish), as well as my personal taste. I'd love to see them on Which or What, as the last time I saw them at Roo was in a really hot tent early in the day.

Two Door before J. Cole makes sense, because Two door at Lolla 2013 had an even bigger crowd than Chvrches in 2014 at Lolla, and had a bigger crowd than VW who pre-headlined in 2013 Lolla. I'm still convinced that as amazing as M83 is, they're not getting Which. I mean their slot is the same as where Frank Ocean was, and he was in the other. Doubt they'd be in the other, but I think closing This is a huge possibility.

Chvrches isn't as easily accessible as VW, Avett Brothers, Alabama Shakes. They're not main stage ready, even with their high billing. Which pre-headliner makes sense. Two Door isn't as big as VW, but their audience is pretty damn similar. Just not sold on Chvrches on What.

I would agree with that, and Chvrches will stay on Which or maybe move to a tent closer in my mock.
I could easily see shuffling around Haim/Chvrches/Two Door Cinema Club in mine so it looks like:
WHAT: Two Door Cinema Club > Macklemore > Pearl Jam

I still think there is a chance (unless info has came out that I haven't read about) that Tame Impala plays on What. In both last year and in 2014, there was only 1 act that was billed in the top 7 that wasn't on What....and neither was LN (Robert Plant 2015 & Phoenix 2014). I also think it's kinda odd they put Late Night beside their name on the poster.
I could see Macklemore/J. Cole 7:30 - 8:45 --> LCD 9:45 - 11:30 --> Tame Impala 12:30 - 2:00 on Friday, Ellie Goulding --> Pearl Jam on Saturday, J. Cole/Macklemore --> Dead on Sunday. The pre-headliner on What for Sunday is usually a big act...3 out of the last 4 years it has been somebody billed in the top 6.

Ouch. Kamasi Washington vs Blood Orange vs Dungen? Super freaking painful. If you can switch Saint Motel with Blood Orange, I'd be ok with that. Which stage all day. Pearl Jam isn't in the best place for me so I'll have to miss em. Also Lennon vs LCD? Thats another kick in the balls.
Thurs: Roman GianArthur > Givers > Vulfpeck > Twin Peaks > (end of) BORNS > Papadosio Fri: Kamasi Washington (part set) > Blood Orange (part set) > Saint Motel > Mavis Staples > CHVRCHES > M83 (pit) > Tame Impala (pit) > Superjam Sat: Steve Gunn (part set) > Chicano Batman (part set) > Lettuce > Kurt Vile > (sit in pit line all day until) LCD Sun: Ibeyi > Cymande > Lord Huron > Ween > Dead and Co.
24 shows but really 19 full shows. This schedule would be amazing if it wasn't for those two heavy conflicts
Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.
Sorry. Didn't see where Dead were confirmed closing.
Not "confirmed" but pretty close. There is a link in the Dead and Co thread from a fan site that had tour dates listed. That list matched the tour announcement form earlier this week. On that list it had Bonnaroo listed for Sunday.

I made this statement about three weeks ago in the Tame Impala thread and it didn't seem to gain any traction on the board.
It is definitely a risk, but Kevin Parker has a lot of things going his way right now. With Rihanna's cover, MArk Ronson connections he is slowly drifting towards the "pop" world. By June, it may be a no-brainer to have them on What. For now, I tend to agree with the consensus of Which, but it wouldn't shock me at all for them to get the big late night show. Plus it is guaranteed entertainment, the sonic element is great and the light show will transfix eyeballs.
They have the third most adds on the line-up currently behind Pearl Jam and Death Cab if that is any indication.
