A quick thought about what could be on this setlist... Theme From Shaft Try A Little Tenderness Green Onions Soul Man Hold On, I'm Coming I'll Take You There Mr. Big Stuff Suspicious Minds
Also, Ben Harper is my guess for surprise guest. He doesn't have any tour dates during Bonnaroo and is signed by Concord (the present incarnation of Stax) along with Krasno/Soulive and Nathaniel Rateliff
Can we please get Mavis back on the lineup?
Did we ever get an explanation for why she was removed? Maybe she decided to pass on having her own set but wanted to be a part of this?
Fwiw, this clip is from the superjam Buku after party from March and includes Krasno, Griz, Zoidis and Bloom (Shady Horns) which are 4 of the announced participants. It's probably a little trippier than what most of the superjam ends up being, but it's a taste of some of the talent for those who are unfamiliar.

I think PJ may still be playing during a good portion of the SJ.
Seeing what the Superjam is, I am hoping for a 4+ hour PJ set.
Or a super secret Which stage Temple if the Dog reunion. Chris Cornell has a Roo sized hole in his schedule. It is Pearl Jam's 25th anniversary. They play Saturday night. Which stage is currently dark......
A Chris Cornell appearance would make it so worth it. There are a few SJ artists I'd like to see... Allen Stone and Vulfpeck specifically. This will be the first SJ that I specifically plan to see. I hope it's great.
Man, this sounds like an awesome show, definitely think it will be better than last years superjam (which I really liked). Really excited for Pearl Jam though, hope they push the superjam start date back a bit, I'll be at PJ for the whole time they're scheduled to play, then head straight for this.

All of this, alll of this, let this mofo go all night! If they don't change the set time I fear for a horrible spot otherwise, luckily the screens will help things if they actually use the camera unlike last year.
I'm getting more excited for this. Thinking it will be less packed then the last few years which would be nice. Also I didn't know Devonte Hynes = Blood Orange.
the consensus on reddit seems to be: where are all the famous people? the superjam is supposed to have awesome guests that aren't even on the lineup!
I wonder what they would have thought if they saw the lineup for the 2005 or 2006 superjam.
This Superjam would be less of a concern if the full Roo lineup were half as good as 2005 or 2006. I've warmed to a bit after doing some research, but there is still not a lot that makes me go "OOHHHH! I HAVE to see that," like there usually is. Same deal with the SJ, though I'll be there because it should be well done, even if the billing lists precisely zero artists I normally listen to. Star power is overrated, but you'd expect at least some.

Absolutely fantastic lineup. No claypool is my only complaint. They have the most talented musicians at the festival playing together. What on earth are people complaining about??

Agreed. I do hope Claypool pops in though. I know he has a show on Sunday so I'm not getting my hopes up.

No Claypool, No Mayer, No Gunn. How did this happen?
Claypool/Lennon have a gig in St. Louis Sunday night. Playing a late show probably isn't in their best interests, though they could potentially pop in.
I've thought a lot about the Mayer thing, and I know he is a talented cat, but I imagine he has his hands full learning Grateful Dead tunes. Again he could pop in, but I imagine it would be challenging to rehearse and learn (or re learn) a bunch of tunes to play for a one-off act.
In other speculation, I'm thinking "In The Midnight Hour" would be a rad way to open this up.

If Mayer's going be on the farm Saturday night, I could see him popping up for a solo or two during the superjam. He's got the chops to jump into a jam with little to no rehearsal, plus I'm sure he's got a few of the songs they'll be playing under his belt already. That being said, I'm not betting on him being there.

I don't think I'd bet on any one surprise person showing up at SJ. But I WOULD bet that SOMEONE cool (JT, Jack White, John Mayer, etc.) shows up.

Y'all are a bunch of starfuckers. I will take musicianship over name recognition all damn day. Maybe that's the divide as to why I'm not as pissed about the lineup in general as everyone.
