Sunday of last year was so hot AF that my brother and I skipped the afternoon shows all together.
Despite the impending dumpster fires, part of me wishes I could attend again this year. Hope all y'all have a good time! Pro-tip: go to the Whole Foods nearby and eat a bunch of warm carbs before entering the festival. The prices and lines for food inside are abhorrent.

BTW in case anyone was wavering anyone who misses Gallant to go to Ferg or Anna Lunoe is going to miss the best non Twigs set of the Festival. The boy is gonna be huge, he is beyond unreal live.

The food trucks aren't terrible, but yes this is a great pro tip. My sister and I had lunch at whole foods before both days last year.

How does St. Lucia go from a late night set at Firefly, to a half hour set at 2pm at MIA.
Because Made in America is phasing out altrock/indie all together.
St Lucia at Firefly was incredible late night. A 2PM festival set is really brutal for anyone.
has nothing to do with the genre. the early acts have always gotten a half hour. the demand for St Lucia at Firefly is much greater than MIA. Foals played mid afternoon for 45-60min at every US fest this year but was given a 2 hour co-headlining spot at hangout. there is also more rock/indie this year than last.

Eve is a nice get, i wish she was playing Sunday so i could see her. i wonder why they dont book more of the Philly hip hop acts. How has there never been a State Property reunion at this fest either?!
im talking more acts like Beanie, Freeway, Peedi, Young Gunz, Omelio & Sparks, Cassidy. Im really surprised Lil dicky isnt playing this year. Had no idea Lil Utz whatever his name is from here too.
RE: Edward Sharpe vs Madeon, go to Madeon and then just show up at the end for Edward Sharpe to see them play Home.
RE: Philly hiphop, if that would entail more shitty acts like Meek Mill last year, then no thank you. But hope all y'all enjoy Eve.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, I wasn't sure who to see between seeing Edward Sharpe and when Madeon plays, I have like 2 and hours of nothing.
Checkout a little bit of twigs, I'm going to go check out basement, though I agree with you that's a weak time slot. My friends who are into EDM really like Salva. So if that's your jam check him out maybe.

Gotcha. I'd check out Travis Scott or Lil Yachty just for the crowd responses and the people watching.
I went to Travi$ at the Filmore and it had to be one of the craziest shows I've been to in a Rap/Trap (whatever you wanna call it) scene. The crowd is more like a hardcore show. I had a point were i had forget the music and concentrate on not dying. (being drunk and dehydrated doesn't help.)
Lil Yatchy prob be fun that dude is all about positivity and having fun. Prob see some funny dancing there.

Just watched Jay Electronica get shut down for telling the audience to rush the stage, that looked insane. I respect they guy for performing how he feels and wanting to be close to the audience, but that's just not a good idea telling everyone to rush the stage. As soon as he started telling people to get on stage I knew his show was going to get cut. As an artist he should have seen that coming too.
