Pardon the bump but I had another great time at Life is Beautiful last month. What many people on this forum seem to miss (or fail to realize) is that unlike other music festivals, Life is Beautiful curates 4 different areas equally (Music, Art, Food, and Learning/Ideas). Whereas say, with ACL or Lollapalooza, if you don't have a great lineup, you're kinda screwed. But with this one, one could actually go through all 3 days of the festival without checking out 1 single musical act and still have a blast.
How many other festivals can you watch a cooking session by Iron Chef Cat Cora (and sample the food), then sit in on a TedTalks-like ideas/Q&A session with Bill Nye the Science Guy, Pussy Riot, or RuPaul, and walk by an art truck by Banksy before catching Stevie Wonder to close the night? You can't.
I just went to ACL Festival for the first time this past weekend and had a blast. They do their music top notch but other than that, there's really not much to ACL. One could arguably say the same thing to 90% of the festivals out there. Throw in some local eats, put up a few Instagram-photo setups for you to take selfies at, and call it a festival. That's not what Life is Beautiful does. Can they get better music acts? They have in the past (2014 had a STRONG top 6, and last year was great from top to bottom), but I'd rather them keep everything else which differentiates them from everyone else.
I don't mind the undercard, but that top nine is god awful. Not sure what the Lumineers have done to be billed that high at any fest.
They were 4th on Bottlerock this year. Also, given that they're currently doing big amphitheatres (for their new album) and have NEVER played Vegas before, I could understand the billing.
Lol, everything was higher this year than last year (attendance, pace of sales, social media shares/likes,etc). Unlike other festivals, music isn't the end-all-be-all for this unique fest.

Hey so myself and a couple friends are thinking about traveling for this fest this year. Do a Vegas trip and muaic fest all in a week. So wondering if anyone has a good bit of feedback and any rumors on this years lineup?

I have no clue on the lineup. Secretly hoping they'll book imagine dragons after hearing this new song, but it'd be back a little quick.

Yeah I'm not a huge ID fan but can feel that cuz I'm personally hoping for The Killers being one of my favorite bands and first Vegas trip but I know probably too soon for everyone else haha. Also would love any of these as headliners this year Green Day-RHCP-NIN-Tool-Metallica-Tom Petty-Soundgarden-Foo Fighters-Childish Gambino as random as all those are in sure. Plus would love on the undercard to have Cage the Elephant-Kid Cudi-The Avett Brothers-Asap Rocky-Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats-Of Monsters and Men-Run the Jewels-Coheed and Cambria-Danny Brown-Modest Mouse-Silversun Pickups-Logic-Live(reunion)-
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
I swear Chance is the most over rated artist out right now.
Well I have hung out with him before, hes a cool dude, and I am very happy for his success. Also I like his music, and it is astonishing what he has accomplished without any sort of record deal.
