Herbie's early-to-mid 70s Headhunters era jazzy funk is a lot of what I'm wanting my band to sound like.

Next Pick: Ginger Baker I have a lot of options for my last two picks, so I'm gonna go ahead and grab my drummer. Ginger is one of the true rock drumming gods, and one of the most influential drummers ever. His vast experience in jazz, blues, and psychedelic rock is just what I'm looking for in a drummer. This man also basically introduced rock and roll to the extended drum solo. Before him, drum soloing was mostly something that only jazz drummers did. He and Larry Graham give my band a thunderous rhythm section.

Believe me I was considering picking him up with one of my 1st two picks. Having to sweat out basically the whole 2nd and 3rd rounds was not fun.
