I was kinda hoping they would try somewhere new.
Since I missed OBH1 I'm ok with it being at HR RM again, but I understand the fatigue from those who have gone to both. The concert courtyard is pretty much perfect, and I felt the food there was slightly better than most all-inclusive resorts. The lack of a "true" beach is a bit of a bummer though.
I think it's highly likely OBH4 will be at a new location.
So I read through the previous thread for this and I am a little confused and just looking to clear it up. Rooms are sold to pairs of 2. So really, the cheapest room would be $1300 from me and $1300 from a friend. Also, even if a room that could sleep 6 was booked, they would only sell tickets in pairs- so the cost of the room can not be split at all. Do I understand this all correctly?

That's right ... one person has to accept responsibility for a room which the cheapest is basically $2,600 that covers 2 people for all food, unlimited drink and shows.
They offered a flying solo option the last two years where you only pay $1,300 but you are assigned a random roomie.
The first year they had 3 person options but not last year so to take 4 people it isn't $1,300 x 4 ... b/c the quad rooms start at around $2,500 each so the cheapest to have 4 people in the same room is $10k it's cheaper just to book two doubles.
I went both times in the cheapest room option and have zero regrets the price was fair considering the food and top shelf drinks avail - plan extra for airport transfers and I recommend coming in one day early otherwise you are run down for the first show.

Nice! Thank you for clarifying. It really doesn't seem like a bad deal at all considering what is included. Was for sure planning on doing at least 1 extra day.
I am in! OBH was out the first 2 years because it was my busy season at work. This year I changed positions, but they took the year off, so 2017 here I come!
And thanks for the info on the rooms- the info offered here actually answered some of my questions as well.

Gotta convince the wife to go back. She convinced me the first year by getting me drunk and pulling out the credit card. We shall see if that works for me this year.
Gonna be graduating and probably moving cross country around the new year, so I may need every extra penny. Should have taken better advantage of the year off and stashed more dough.

The first year kinda late, after I'd already paid two installments I think. Last time I remember they announced not long before bonnaroo, because I was trying to convince people in my roo crew to go during Dr. Dog.

That makes sense. I tried to search for it and there was a post by Bacon talking about Dr. Dog et al in late May, but it didn't specifically say that was the announcement. Thanks! (you guys better make it happen! I can't do Roo this year, so I would love some OBH with you!)

For those who are interested in this and never been, I definitely think the price is worthwhile. We got a day before and a day after, and that made the whole thing resemble a vacation. We also didn't feel rushed doing it that way. On the day before, we took a cab to Riviera Maya, did some shopping for "supplies" and walked the beach, ate some killer food and pretty much acted like wide-eyed tourists. On the day after, we used some of our resort credits to take a full-day snorkeling excursion that started in a spring in the jungle before opening up into an enormous bay filled with colorful fish, cliffs, ropes, etc. At the resort, itself, you get to drink and eat all you want. I still shake a little thinking about all the Don Julio margaritas I had. ... The pools at the resort were great and the beach area had some surprisingly impressive snorkeling, considering its makeup. I saw eel and fish of all shapes and sizes. Also, nothing beat sitting on the white sand beach and having someone bring you fancy drinks. Here, I posted all that and didn't mention the music. If you are a MMJ fan and can afford it, it's a blast. ...

It sold out in October last time, and the first one was either not sold out or only sold out at the last minute. I suspect this one will sell out well before October.

While I'm not the worlds biggest MMJ fan, I love the rest of the lineup and I love all of you and I'm going to try to convince my other half to do this.
