Fun story. My 11th grade pre-cal teacher facebook called me. She's going WK2 and is so excited. They splurged & are doing the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Travel Package for 2, sitting in the grandstands. We're going to meet for dinner soon to discuss. She's been following my festival experiences for years.
I just got in for the second time for weekend 1. GA is sold out. Standing Pit is sold out. There are a few reserved floor seats left and a few more grandstand seats but I imagine what is left will go soon. I feel lucky I got in earlier when I did.
Props to those who got tickets, but the fact that some people have now had two opportunities to buy tickets before some had even had one absolutely confounds me. I knew my guy was slow but now he's getting lapped?! Christ!

My guy isn't even half way and I got in the waiting room as soon as it opened. I guess at least you can't say the waiting room line wasn't randomly chosen?

I was on two different devices on different networks - desktop on the company network and tablet on the client wifi. I was in line on both before tickets went on sale. Probably small consolation but I didn't lap you!
My hope for tickets is on life support. If anyone has ANYTHING for weekend one, please let me know. Was hoping for four but now I'll just take anything one at a time. I will compensate fairly. Thank you!
Just a friendly reminder -- the next few days are the absolute worst time to buy tickets on the secondary market. Stay strong, folks! Prices will drop.

I know... I didn't even think I was going to have money to even try for tickets today, so when I did I got all excited that this was actually going to happen for me. Just to turn around and be disappointed like this.

These secondary market prices are insane. Hell, I'm tempted to list a ticket for $50K on StubHub and see if some goon buys it. If it sells, at least I can afford to buy another couple tickets and finance my trip. If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Seriously. I didn't think there'd be much of a market for this when it was only one weekend, but I guess there's a shit ton more people out there with Scrooge McDuck money pits than I originally thought.
With two weekends, could there really be 80,000+ people willing to fork out a grand for prime seats? The ticket junkie in me says no, but I've never dealt with LA-sized demand before. So who knows...
I just wanted to point out that this isn't just LA-sized demand. This was WORLDWIDE demand. Cap'n Mac told me that he had friends in Sydney trying for tickets... So I guess when I think about it like that I shouldn't be surprised I got shut out....
But I'm not going to lie. The fact that Cody was able to make it in twice while half of us sat in a paused line is bullshit. I'm not saying that against him personally or anything, I'm saying it about the way the site was working... I don't understand how that's even possible.
I wonder if they have resident tickets available the way that they do for Coachella. That could be an option...
They do have resident tickets available, but not till the week before. And you've gotta provide proof of zip code.
