It's also funny to me how the biggest names in rock history aren't enough to justify this for some of you, but adding MMJ would.
It's not about justifying it for me, just what I think is possible. I would love to go with 6 legends with or without the openers, but it probably won't be something i can budget. Plus I learned along time ago that the band playing my local club for $20 that has something to prove puts on a better show then the $100 arena show by an old legend.
I fully expected it to be just the 6, but after hearing some of the suggestions I do see how 1 opener for each day could've worked. Originally I couldn't conceive anyone who could add to this line up rather than cheapen it, but I do think that Ryan Adams is a good fit. Idk about any of the others thrown out though.
Anyways, I'm waiting for the official announcement from Goldenvoice about this. Hoping it comes this week or next after Coach wraps up. I just need to know when tickets are going on sale and how much they'll be. Because I need to start saving.

Really though, I live in NYC these days and there are some great clubs but it's always a dice roll. Of the 6 artists listed here, I know 5 are putting on an awesome show and hey! at least the other one's Bob Dylan
Really though, even at the clubs I like out here it's pick 1 on a good night, 2 on most nights:
God damnit why did I already book a trip to NOLA for Voodoo in October? It would take some serious mental and financial gymnastics to justify this... but IT'S.... SO... GOOD. Ugh.
Stevie is unquestionably a better performer than Bob Dylan these days. Dylan for sure a better songwriter and probably more influential, but I've seen both recently and I'd take Stevie any day.
As classic as Stevie is he is not in the same league as Bob fucking Dylan.
Why do you believe this? Stevie Wonder is just as important as Dylan, no question.
It's something that's impossible to quantify and therefore impossible to prove, but in my mind Dylan is far more important and influential to popular music than Stevie Wonder and it's not even that close. It's the Beatles and Dylan for 1 and 1a and the dropoff isn't insignificant to #2
