Not that anyone on here cares about Electric Forest, but I've lost absolutely all hope in them after seeing this phase 1. Same organizers, same organizing band, and they come out with THIS after an absolute goose-egg of an EF lineup!? Damn this will definitely be my last year in the forest and may have to replace it with a trip down to the swamp.
Suwanee sketches me out a little. I don't really like rural Leo mentality and covert operations. Heard a story of two about Full Moon.
I've never had an issue at Suwannee, nor have I ever seen anything really sketchy or covert. Security was way lax at Full Moon Gathering, IMO. They barely did pat-downs for the first rush of people into the fest, after that they didn't search anything other than bags and barely even looked at them. During Shpongle's sunrise set, I watched as several people smoked weed in the open with a half dozen cops sitting in golf carts 20 feet away laughing and joking about it without any concern. They didn't appear to harass anyone leaving that set either. I understand your concern with the small town LEOs, but they seem to know that a lot of these crowds don't get out of hand. It's the Suwannee River Jam/Country crowds (aka locals) who tend to cause much more ruckus. Last weekend was a cakewalk for them compared to what they will deal with when Skynyrd comes to town this weekend.

Don't want to post, and they said isolated, but there were some actions. I was cool with Bear Creek, but I get that way at Hangout too and I'm almost always legal.

Gotcha. It's totally warranted at Hangout. It's in my backyard and I stay as far away as possible now.
Bear Creek had the best atmosphere of any festival, IMO. Hard to top it. I heard they're capping this Hulaween to 20,000 people too. That should help a bit.
Initially I didn't think I'd get the time off to make it back this year, but some schedule changes worked into my favor. I'm hoping to get on a street team again. If so, I'll definitely be there.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
It's like MMJ is on the way to becoming a full-fledged jam scene act between this and Lockn'.
They did headline waka awhile back.
I was there. It was glorious. Lolla, ACL, and the others seem to skip over them now. I'm not complaining. SOSMP is my favorite festy venue. I'd love to see them there.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
I'd love to swing this, but with FYF the month before and finding someone to watch the tot and fly in from out west, logistically this seems hard to pull off. But it definitely is a great lineup, and SCI is probably my least faveorite "second wave" jam band
Do they have car camping? Voodoo will probably be my go to but Im not ruling out Hula.
Yes, and it's first-come-first-serve, so you can pretty much park wherever within reason. It's a camping park year-round too, so people get there 3-4 days early for the really good spots and just pay the park to camp.

Choosing between this and lockn is going to be real tough.
I'm planning on choosing both
Bonz how do you do these long distance fests? Do you not camp or do you have your festival camping rig down to a science like those people who pack for a month in Europe in a carry on?
