Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
This is my only conflict. and you will enjoy Issac Corbitt on the harmonica.
To Many Zooz! Megan just mention we should check them out. Then she showed me the video, I had no idea those were the guys in a video I saw months ago, of two guys jamming in the subway or Union Square. Nice!
What are you guys seeing? Any recommendations on acts to check out?
Some obscure stuff out there in the lower card:
Jen Hartswick (Trey Band) and Roosevelt Collier. I'm assuming they will be frequent collaborators throughout the weekend in the Artist at Large vein. I don't know for sure but it doesn't list their own bands.
MZG - I don't like them. 2 brothers (90% sure) sort of like the Floozies except too disco, but they're also part of an in-hiatus band Greenhouse Lounge that I love.
Cure for the Common - A heavy electric funk band out of Montana. We saw them at a Waka preparty. Entertaining.
The Fritz is a cool ass funk band out of Ashville, NC. I've seen them a couple times.
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe - Top 2 for me at Bear Creek over some of my all time favorites. Sweet jazz
Future Rock is a livetronica trio from Chicago. They were pretty good at Euphoria.
Quixotic - if you haven't seen them, go back a couple of pages where I posted those live clips with the fire acrobats and ring acrobat. This is sure to be a freakshow which I think is late night. If you "vacation" (which I don't), do not miss this.
As for STS9, I didn't get your point. Is it you don't like Alana or don't like the new album? I don't like the new album much besides the new versions of some old songs. However, they have never been better live and continue to get better almost every show. This is likely a Top 3 set for Hulaween just like they and the crowd ruled Bonnaroo 15.
You know everyone else but if not, Sunsquabi is cool and I like Manic Focus and his Break Science collaboration of Manic Science. Big G live with the Motet (which is the band Dominic Lali cut his teeth with) is likely to be a top show as well.

esteban, thanks for the recommendations. I definitely planned on seeing Big G with Motet and Quixotic already. I've just enjoyed STS9 sets in the past but didn't dig the few songs I caught the last time they were at Roo. Karl Denson is greatly talented, just is normally low energy for me at a fest. I'm sure I'll end up seeing him anyway given who he is up against in that time slot. I'll check out some of the other recommendations later.

For sure. I'd say more commentary than recommendations though Karl is perfect in the afternoon for some chill. I'm a big fan of his guitarist DJ Williams..
I gotcha on Tribe. I actually thought it was the best set I saw at Bonnaroo 15, and the crowd was definitely the coolest and most interesting of any sets I saw there last year as well. Different strokes. We did see about 6 livestreams around Christmas and I've seen them 3 or 4 times this year (will again at Voodoo). If you end up with 5 minutes at the back, i think the newest light show will impress. I'd love to be going but it ain't happening. I've seen at least half the acts including almost all the top 7 or 8 rows. Oh yeah, we like Post Pluto. That's a cool up and coming band out of Pensacola.
Seems kinda odd they're ending with bluegrass every night but Sunday, but I'll check it out and see what the Silent Discos are about also.
WHOW. I obviously haven't been paying attention very closely, because I didn't realize Sunday was a thing. I guess I just assumed Hula was like Wanee and Sunday was music-free. Damn, I already don't have a lot of time to visit my sister after the fest. I now need to decided whether to skip Sunday or not.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I remember not being certain about music on Sunday, but had to double check before requesting time off. Good luck on your decision. Could you coax her into getting a single day ticket and experiencing full festy mode Bonnie?

She fully understands and actually did Hangout with me a few years ago (of course, we all know a city fest is different than a camping fest). She has a newborn, so a day pass wouldn't be in the cards, and that's also why I feel like I need the max amount of time with them. I thought I could stay the week at her house, but I realized the next weekend is Homecoming and I have to be back Wednesday night. I am spending 5 nights in Atlanta/Chattanooga before the fest, so 2 nights at her house would really make me look like I don't care... I have a liiiiitttle time to decide though...

So jealous of everyone going! Unfortunately its not in the cards for me this year. This is my favorite fest I've been too (besides roo 2012). Have fun everyone.
Checking out the schedule now. Hope I make it in and get set up in time for Marco Benevento or at least Con Brio on Thursday. Seems kinda odd they're ending with bluegrass every night but Sunday, but I'll check it out and see what the Silent Discos are about also. I'll start Friday out at Russo, Benevento, & Burbridge. I wish they would announce a replacement for Charles Bradley or at least take his name down from the schedule. That was going to be great. Walking into the What field following Cymande into Charles' set was a beautiful moment this past Roo. I probably would have caught Boys Noize but I'm not missing Anderson .Paak. Same with Claude Vonstroke. I'd see him again but he is up against MMJ. Antibalas is going to be a crunk way to start Saturday and Snarky Puppy right after is perfect for me. Will probably dip out on the first SCI set that day for Washed Out. Lettuce vs. RÜFÜS DU SOL sucks. I'll just have to decide that one in the moment. Bob Moses late night between the two SCI sets will be fun. Then I'll have a problem. I'm not into the new version of STS9 or Logic and that's about it for options after Cheese ends. I'll just wonder around or check out this Corbitt Clampett Experience at Campground Stage. Revivalist always put on a good show, but hard to imagine I'll skip Disclosure's DJ set for them, unless I just really feel like seeing a live band rock out. Then there is Sunday. Guess I'll be seeing Oh Wonder after all. Excited to see Claypool Lennon again. Riding out the storm at camp caused me to lose the pace I was keeping for it at Roo.

Gonna try our hardest to get in for Marco Benevento on Thurs. Its gonna be close!
Our cat Utah, wants you all to see HIS sand art table. Well, actually, it is Mike D 's Sandy Art Generator, but clearly by this picture, this table now belongs to our cat. Sorry MikeD Seriously though, Utah plays and rolls around on top of this table multiple times a day. He meows to go out to the door, that opens to the outdoor, yet enclosed, patio, so he can play on his sand light table.
Why am I posting a picture of my cat? Well, I have cat obsession issues for one, but this is more about self promoting Short Cut Camp and us being accepted to be part of Spirit Lake, again!!!
we hope you all will enjoy our 3 interactive installs: MikeD's Sandy Art Generator-come draw/play in the sand The Dragon-a tennis ball pendulum wave Lite Brite Wall-a jumbo lite brite, pegs are made from water bottles
Also, check out Morphing Mobiles!! by Nathan Miller.

Same, I was SO hoping to make it this year and it's just not going to happen.

Some things to note: Jen Hartswick is playing with The Revivalists in Mobile on Friday night of that weekend. So her at-large moments are sure to come later in the weekend.
MZG stands for Monozygotik, their full name. Monozygotic means identical twins developed from one zygote. They're identical twin brothers. One is Zach, the guitar/keys player from Greenhouse Lounge, and the other has a solo project called Sir Charles. Together they're MZG.
But I doubt they will be playing the Dallas game. Not because the Eagles and Cowboys suck, but more because it is an 8:30 night game.
I thought that might be why it was on, because it's prime time. I have no idea how the setup for these things are. I just recalled someone mentioning watching Florida Gator games at the park before.

They have the bar and restaurant by the general store, if those are open the TV will be on, but I just figured people would be closing around game time.
What's the weather usually like? I am headed south at the crack ass of dawn on Saturday, so I have to pack this week. Currently, the whole weekend is showing highs of low 80s, lows of around 60 and pretty dry. Does this seem accurate? Since I will be gone for so long, I'll need to pack a lot and would hate to waste space on extra fuzzy sweatshirts and such if I don't really need them.

They are projecting a cooling off this weekend. Lows in the 50s. It's too early to tell about Hulaween but you may want to wear more than your tutu this time.

I still say that my tutu kept me warmer than everyone else during ABB a few years ago! Everyone else was soaked and the tutu kept my leggings dry. Thanks, Cheshire Cat costume!
Thanks for the info. I'll have to put my thinking cap on. At Catskill Chill a few weeks ago, it got into the 30s at night, so I packed a lot of extra fleece lined garments and such. I don't think I will need to this time

The Late Night Suwannee Bluegrass Surprise artists have been announced! Stay up late and dance with Stickley And Keel's Guitar Freak Out, Jon Stickley Trio and Grass is Dead in Spirit Lake!
Caught The Grass is Dead a few weeks back in a little bar. Fun band if you're into the Dead and Bluegrass.

Last year was hot as balls. The year before, we froze every night. Watch the weather, and bring things you can layer.

For what it is worth, we have yet to put on pants this year, but I just ordered a cord of firewood.

Yeah, the problem is that I have to fit a week and a half's worth of clothes in one suit case including costume, warmth, nicer clothes... I have to be strategic! I have to be fully packed by tomorrow night and can't rely on watching the weather!
