SO who do you guys think will play this year? I'm hoping STS9 is back and maybe Tame Impala?
Portugal the Man I would love some Tame Impala. M83 or Ghostland Observatory, I think either would be great, if anything GLO will bring the lasers Gary Clark Jr or Sturgil Simpson would make oh so very, very happy.
I like where you're minds at! I'm hoping we get some more indie rock this year too.

Sturgill in the MMJ spot would be awesome, not sure if he's big enough to "headline" or no though.
I hope they continue to add more indie to the mix, getting Washed Out and Oh Wonder last year was a cool little addition. I could see PTM fitting well, same with Glass Animals that's thrown around a lot recently.
Was hoping it would drop today but maybe tomorrow now?
Pre-sale tickets on Thursday, guessing lineup will be next week.
Usually Hulaween releases a lineup before ticket sales start. Last year it was 2 days before. If I had to guess, I'd expect it today or tomorrow.
We already know what most of the lineup is going to be. And we also already know that it's going to be good. I'll be hoping Sober Goat videos many of the sets as he is known to do. That eases the pain a little for having to miss one of my favorite lineups every year.

No doubt....sci, jamgrass, edm. The outliers were great last year...MMJ, Anderson Paak, Revivalists, Passafire, Claypool/Lennon. I think they'll need more of that to pull me down for 3 in a row.
Nevermind...looks like the announcement will be somewhat delayed.
From facebook hula group:
Interesting, I'm guessing its Phish.
Any other guesses?
I'm guessing anyone else you can think of is more likely than phish...with the caveat that there is a 25k capacity so anyone that would play a fest that size.

I'm only basing that on another comment I saw somewhere else, I have nothing else to go on there.
Who else would fit that? I wouldn't think Widespread, and I don't think the Disco Biscuits would fit that mold either. Could it be Dead and Co? Or Maybe its skewing way more Indie and its someone like Tame Impala or something?

I don't know, just spitballing.
Phish can go sell out 3 or 4 nights wherever they want to for their Halloween run. Pretty sure wsp already has Halloween dates and would also be unlikely....I think generally, SCI wants to be the biggest jam band there so a different genre is likely...but, no guarantee they get another 'mmj' to do a late night. I mean, you could use the opposite logic of the facebook poster and say they're holding the lineup back because there is no 'bang' and they want to lock as many people in early as possible. But, I think/hope there will be someone cool in the mmj slot.
No on WSP, Wanee is their SOSMP gig, and I think soon it will Dead and Co's. No RHCP, unless they can bring the light show, which they can not. No DMB. LCD would be a fun show and a great addition to Hula. I always saw Alabama Shakes at Wanee, but they would get weird at Hula. Some one may have mentioned Leon Bridges before and I agree and will add a late dose of Amos Lee.
LOL oh man. You actually got me for half a second there. My reaction was "WHAT?! Well, ok, I'm all about it, but most of the fan base will be pisssseddd"
So far alls I know is 7 sets of cheese and Nick Murphy(fka Chet Faker) are billed, Ima do more searching into it, see if anyone else has put it on their tour posters or online.
He killed it at Shaky Knees so I'm stoked to see what he does at Hula, it also leads me to believe they're going to go very indie for this years line up.

I think they got Bassnectar, or at least are seriously considering booking him in the future. Paul was staunchly defending the idea of Bassnectar playing at Hula on Reddit
Some direct quotes, all in direct response to criticism of the idea of booking bassnectar: "To say that Hula doesn't need his energy or like his fanbas is a pretty broad statement and clearly just a personal opinion. It does not reflect the feelings of the promoters in any way." "I've been in the crowd at several Bassnectar shows and tons of festivals over the last 35 years. I live in the Music Park. I think I have a sense for vibe and what will work at Suwannee. I say that Suwannee family won't allow any group of fans to kill a vibe. I appreciate your support and look forward to having a conversation one day, should we ever go there. Also, part of the reason for a no line-up presale could be to hedge the bets on something like this. I think Hula 2017 will be our best yet."
