So what is up with the lineup? Voodoo lineup blows I may make this happen if it isn't too edm heavy.
It's a mix. You're going to get all the good jam and jamtronica shit I see all year long when I can like STS9, probably 3 nights of String Cheese, Papadosio, Floozies, etc. and probably some rock and rap acts (Primus and Chance played 2015, MMJ & Claypool/Lennon played last year). There will be DJ sets, but they usually veer toward the more eclectic stuff. You probably won't be bored, and it's always been the one festival I wish I could go to but likely never will because of the Voodoo conflict.

Spafford is playing - they have it on their fall tour poster.
I know I can't swing it this year due to Lockn and other fall plans I have in place, but if I like this year's lineup as much as last year then I may snag a ticket on pre-sale for 2018.

I saw this and I'm hoping it means we will finally get a lineup soon
It's still June. I think we'll be ok. Coming soon.
I agree. We got it at the end of June last year. I think it will Come and be promising. I've been to the last 3 Hula's and just like Roo even with a slight bad card. It's still so much fun.
Coming up on the 4-months to go mark. Have to wonder what is going on, promoters are not doing themselves any favors for holding out this long.
Paul said it was coming soon. I'm assuming he is "Paul." Heh. You already know the bulk of the lineup, and it is going to pretty much rule. So if you don't have other plans, just be preparing to go.

Not to be a d*ck, but what's a "slight bad card?" Hulaween pound for pound destroys Bonnaroo.

I'm sure if the lineup don't come this week it will be next. As far as knowing a lot of the lineup - I know you can count on SCI being on top and playing a lot of sets, and I know STS9 is regulars for the fest. That's about all I could tell you, granted I have never been and haven't been following Hulaween closely until moving recently. They have built a loyal fanbase and seem to deliver consistent lineups. It's just worth pointing out with the festival market being so saturated, having as much as time as possible to push tickets makes things a little easier in most cases.
If I dig this lineup as much as last year I will prob snag a ticket early as possible for 2018. Looks like a hell of a time.

I do agree. But What I meant was. Even if the line up is lackluster to some. It will still be an absolute blast and worth every penny. Ive been to Roo the last 4 years and yes it's gotten worse as bands. But it's still so much fun and the vibe is great. This year was amazing. And I expect the same from Hula even if the line up isn't the best I have no doubt it will be epic

Gotcha. Yeah, it's the usual jam and jamtronica with some great rock and rap thrown in. It pains me to never be able to go, because it's always gonna be great. Sort of Jam Cruise meets a little other stuff like MMJ/Primus/Chance/Claypool-Lennon, etc. But yeah, Cheese, then any combination of STS9, Umphrey's, Lettuce, Lotus, Griz, Gramatik, Tauk, Kung Fu, Pigeon's Playing Ping Pong, Dumpstaphunk, Floozies, Papadosio, Dopapod, Snarky Puppy, Naughty Professor, etc. are liable to be on the card with some other upper card rock acts. It will be good for sure. Edit to say I didn't realize that was you who I was responding to. Where did you move over to Tally, Jacksonville or Orlando?

Not that close, just down to Asheville. But I'm driving 5 hours for Lockn in two months, was driving 6 hours for Bonnaroo in the past. 7 hours is doable for me if I really dig the lineup, not to mention fall festivals work better with my schedule now.
Oh shit. Ashville rules. I haven't been back up that way in a few years, but we're talking about maybe doing Lock'n next year wrapped around a trip up to the Smoky's.

Plenty to see and do between the Asheville/Maggie Valley-Cherokee/Gatlinburg area. Don't know if you have ever did Lockn before, but it's a great time (prob not the thread to talk about it, oh well).

Word. I'll jump on that 18 thread when it's made. I haven't been yet, and it's at the top of my list for festivals I want to go to in America. If Waka isn't going to do 18, I'm 50/50.
Glad to see the lineup tomorrow for Hulaween. It's likely to be pretty great. Hopefully the usuals will be filming.

WUT. No voodoo for yoo? Hula looks dope so I might be down with skipping Voodoo next year, but the headliners this year were too good to skip.
No. It was an inadvertent Lock'n hijack. I'll probably never go to Hula because Im not going to miss Voodoo. I'll watch a ton of it on YouTube after the fact though. So I want just as good of a lineup as everyone who is going.
