I saw Quixotic at Waka '11. I enjoyed it. It was a nice Cirque du Soleil like change of the pace to the rest of the fest. I remember it was almost ruined for me before it started. I was lying up front waiting and conversation and some security guy came up and kicked the rail and yelled "Go to your tent if you want to sleep!". Those around me told hime I was just resting and was talking to them. The show started shortly after that. I won't have to worry about that nonsense at Suwanee.
LOL. I'll take Mulberry over Suwanee any day. That's not popular here, but I didn't get to Waka until 2014. Apparently by then, the security was only there for safety reasons. They don't harass anyone there anymore. But that still sucks. They did a 2:30-4:00 AM show in 2015 in the Revival Tent. It was definitely a freak show, and I'm not necessarily talking about Quixotic. They were a little freaky too with the eastern inspired Violin work. But the crowd was out there. Haha

I don't know what was up with that guy. Security wasn't any type of hassle that year. They barely looked in vehicles upon entry and only glanced in bags but never reached inside when entering the venue. That is until Saturday when someone set off a cherry bomb in a porta potty with some kid inside of it. Security got strict with their checks after that, rightfully so.
I read a SCI interview recently where they indicated they were doing Ghoul Train again, they said there was just a ton of material there to still work with. I loved last years set and won't mind at all if they do something similar.
I was lucky enough to meet and have short convo with Jason Hann July 3rd outside of Chastain Park and told him I'm a huge fan and told him last years ghoul train was one of the best set of music I've ever seen. He was super cool and down to earth and as of that night he said the theme was still up in the air but they are really considering another ghoul train because so many good songs to choose from and everyone loves funky jazzy disco.
I LOVED that set, but I would prefer something new and exciting. Hope they can top it.

One year at Waka, I was napping in the revival tent between sets towards the back, and a security dude got right in my face and yelled WAKE UP! Scared the shit out of me. I've seen a few dick security guards there. The worst I've experienced at Suwannee is the not letting me walk in with an open beer even when I bat my eyes and ask nicely.

^^^^^ I once saw them ask some old, fat and naked dude (not me) to please put his clothes back on. It was noon on a Friday and there were kids around, seemed reasonable. There were some shenanigans last year at Hulaween and the cops had to deal with a person or two that were completely out of control, but I've never seen security even participate in a situation like that at SOSMP.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Well they participate in several other situations that you'll never encounter at Waka. And those matter a little more IMHO.

Please clarify?
Stings and busts. I didn't have an issue when I was there but I've gotten first hand recaps from people who have had issues. Not downing on it at all. Shit happens. But those situations happen at Waka outside the gates and on the highways vs also inside the grounds at Suwanee. Obviously it goes back to don't be the low hanging fruit but that's not 100% gonna work all the time.

I just finally got around to looking into the Thursday pre-party lineup. Now I need to find a way to get there a day early for Umph, Marco Benevento, Con Brio and some bluegrass from Greensky and Fruition.

yeah, once the sched comes out i'll have to choose between Thurs and Sunday, and it's not looking like an easy choice.

Does anyone know what parking/ car camping will be like this year? I know they're changing it up a little. Me and my friends had a sweet spot on River Road last year and would love to be back near the river.

I heard it's going to be on the River Road side of the main stage and there will be a way to access it from Spirit Lake. My guess is it'll be more like a temp stage than an amphitheater. They have shut down the porch stage and music hall for hulaween so it kind of makes sense to open up something else that spreads things out a bit and this stage would certainly do that

I am thinking, if you are looking at the main stage, the new stage would be to your left, follow the trees around, to the left, on past the tree house and up in that area. There seems to be some space up in there.
That is not close to anything else and would kind of suck, although it gives people camped out that way a stage close by.
Yeah, I think the point of it is to spread out the area a bit. Plus, with it being so in the middle of nowhere, it would allow for later shows (like in the Spirit Lake.)

Spirit lake already has another, new stage there as well.

Perhaps I misunderstood what my friend was telling me. Only time will tell, I guess
