I get the feeling that Shaky is just gonna bury Roo worse than they did this year. This is probably the nail in the coffin for me and Roo if Shaky bests them again. I really want to go to ACL, since it's one I've never been to. Shaky always delivers too. Can't wait for the reveals in Jan!
I've seen the Shins, Phoenix, LCD, MGMT previously discussed on this thread as potential attendees...where did QOTSA come from? If it's just wishful thinking I'm there with you, but if it's been confirmed on another site, would like to know that as well before I get my son's hopes up...Thanks

I'm thinking they'll just not have a Buford stage, which makes me sad because I loved that stage.
...maybe just starting later on Friday?
Someone posted earlier in this thread that Centennial Park is getting a major renovation, including where the Buford stage was this year. So I'm assuming that stage is going away this year. But hopefully it'll return in 2018.

That was me. Shaky Beats is using that stage and it's the weekend before SK, so I don't think that's the case, but it could be.

2015 had the best lineup lets face it. the Strokes, the pixies, Ryan Adams, Noel Gallagher, Mastodon, Tame Impala, Old crow, NMH, Interpol, Brand New, TV on the radio, flogging molly, milky chance, Mac demarco, fuckin panda bear, American football, wavves, fidlar, speedy Ortiz. Not to mention BUILT TO SPILL AND FUCKIN SPIRITULIZED. Why did I have to work this weekend. Didn't Ride play too?? Holy fuck that fest will never have a better lineup than that.
Yup, that lineup was ridiculously good. I literally screeched irl when they posted that lineup, despite being the only person in the room at the time. Ride was pretty good and there wasn't a huge crowd for them so it was super easy to get close. Also central park was definitely a better location.

Renovations don't start til Fall 2017. Hopefully they'll just return to the central park / civic center location in 2018 though.
Yeah, 2015 was probably the best Shaky will ever be, thanks to the lineup and location. Ride was amazing and criminally under attended (and so was their show that Friday at Terminal West.) Also, they did NOT play roo that year.
I really don't think it's that stacked. You figure a majority of these acts played Roo in 2016, and will be touring next year. Then the bulk of your acts make sense at Shaky as well. QOTSA could probably be switched with APC, and then maybe it's less stacked. I do think it'll be very close to this. Jan can't come soon enough.
Friday Twin Peaks > Alvvays > Sun Kil Moon > Wolf Parade > Television > The Shins > Deerhunter > MGMT/QOTSA (because I've seen queens but everyone says mgmt blows live)
Saturday White Lung > Pond > Cloud Nothings > Jagwar Ma > Radio Dept. > Future Islands > The Jesus and Mary Chain > Animal Collective
Sunday Hinds > Kevin Morby > Whitney > King Gizz > Temples > Growlers > Grizzly Bear/ PTM > St. Vincent > LCD Soundsystem
andi would cross my fingers that Pond played an aftershow
Friday: Rainbow Kitten Surprise > Twin Peaks > PUP > Hamilton Leithauser > Modern Baseball > Wolf Parade > The Shins > QOTSA
Saturday: The Frights > White Lung > Pond/Car Seat Headrest (hopefully one would do a late night show) > Cloud Nothings > Catfish and the Bottlemen > BSS > Spoon > Phoenix
Sunday: White Reaper/Margo Price > Hinds > Kevin Morby > Whitney > King Gizzard > Temples/War on Drugs > The Growlers > Grizzly Bear > LCD
Yeah, I wanted to be optimistic but that's what I figured.
Nine Inch Nails - Queens of the Stone Age - Phoenix alt-J - The Shins - HAIM - St. Vincent
Pretty positive Bon Iver is one of the headliners. So QotSA is probably out
Honestly I was just trying to keep from posting another version of basically the same old mock I'd been posting. I love Bon Iver as well so I would be extremely happy either way. Any reasoning behind this or is it just a gut feeling?

well I do know he was approached by this fest. This was a bit ago. Who knows how it panned out. Mostly gut.

I'd take LCD over NIN any day. And is QOTSA even coming back next year? I know they're working on a new album, but I haven't heard anything about it for a couple months.
I'm also thinking Cage the Elephant and Death Cab for Cutie could be Piedmont stage headliners.

all I want for Christmas is LCD Soundsystem, Bon Iver and Phoenix for headliners and preferably MGMT, Animal Collective, Pond, King Gizzard and Whitney on the lineup somewhere. And no Metallica.
Also wish they'd stick to like purely EDM for Shaky Beats because I really don't want to pay for both, I haven't even looked at the prices for SB is it the same as SK? but Yeasayer and Starfucker being on SB's lineup last year made me sad because that would have helped SK's lineup out a lot for me... And what if they put LCD at Shaky Beats? Or Bon Iver? Both would fit. It's kinda frustrating how some could go either way.
