4. Revivalists - So apologies in advance but short story time. First time I saw them was at the Cafe Where Tent Bonnaroo 2013. Still to this day one of the best shows I've ever experienced with no more than 20-30 people there just losing their minds, I quickly became a huge fan. Saw them again in my hometown of St. Petersburg with no more than 30-40 people there around 6 months later, and I've probably seen them another 10-12 times since. I like their new album, certainly not as much jamming as they used to do, but still great and finally getting them some solid mainstream traction. So on Saturday at Shaky looking around at their set (in the rain nonetheless) there were literally thousands of people there singing along and having a great time and ending with Hey Jude was a great move. Anyways, long story short it was kinda like watching one of your little kids grow up, a pretty emotional experience for me.
I was at that Cafe Where set. Wild show!
I agree it's been great to see The Revivalists continue to gain traction. I'm honestly not a big fan of some of their song-writing choices, but they sure can fucking play.

So here's my random collection of bands: *Arctic Monkeys *Morrissey *Beck The National (Could they sub-headline? Or would they have to headline since they did last time?) Menomena (With The National, you get a free El Vy show) Feist Cat Power Elf Power of Montreal Thee Oh Sees Ty Segall Foster the People Tom Waits Eels Pinback Helio Sequence Wilco Polica Glass Animals Fear of Men Weaves Mothers Grizzly Bear Angel Olsen St. Vincent Beach House Porches Ra Ra Riot Rogue Wave Pavement Yo La Tengo War on Drugs Courtney Barnett Sunflower Bean

Here's our Sunday recap with some pics of Phoenix's setup and a couple Pond shots. It's not as good as the year Dave Maynar wrote it (that guy's smooth), but here it is.

Seems like Shaky for the past couple of years keeps the format of:
Female headliner - more hyped up band that plays for 2 hours - big indie band A couple of older rock acts, wildcards, and legacy acts - lots of youtube clicks (see Chet Faker/Walk the Moon)
And I feel like next year they might repeat a headliner. I kind of feel like Sweetwood would take every chance he could to book MMJ.
#2 - #3 spot headliners for next year: The National, Wilco, MMJ, Modest Mouse, Bon Iver, Flaming Lips, Fleet Foxes, Death Cab for Cutie (probably would pre-HL in Cage's spot from this year)
