For those that don't want to wait for other shows around the city put on by Gov Ball, Norm MacDonald is headlining at Caroline's on Broadway the same weekend, starting on Thursday night. If I go I will see Norm Thursday before the fest.

It's cool to listen to their albums start to finish at first but if you want a tracklist spanning all their albums to start with, this is one I go back to all the time:
Sweat Opiate Jerk-Off Intolerance Prison Sex Sober Bottom Undertow Stinkfist Eulogy H. 46 & 2 Hooker With A Penis Jimmy Pushit Aenema Third Eye The Grudge The Patient Schism Parabola Ticks & Leeches Lateralus Vicarious Jambi The Pot Rosetta Stoned
This festival is June 2-4. My dad's birthday is Saturday, June 3rd. He and my family (from Texas) have expressed interest in going to Niagra Falls for his birthday. Tool is my favorite band, next to Radiohead. Trying to swing and balance all of that would to happen would take an absolute miracle. But I am definitely going to crunch the numbers and see how plausible. What would be the worst is if Tool is playing Saturday night.
Where to start with Tool: my default for any and all artists is in chronological order (Opiate). I have seen some die-hard pretentious Tool fans say they wish the band would go back to their supposed best sound/style (Undertow). Most commercial success/sold the most albums (Ænima). Most accessible for Tool - that's a good joke (Lateralus, I guess??). 10,000 Days is not favored among most, but it was personal significance for me as I could relate to some of its themes. I would not say I have an overall favorite album though.

Probably someone more modern to bring in a younger group since Tool definitely won't be filling that role. I'd say maybe Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, or Drake?

I don't think that is right. I'm thinking somebody like Kendrick, along with somebody like Kings of Leon

...Also I'm jealous af now.
this is a really solid list if you guys are wanting to start listening to Tool I will also add to listen to Parabol into Parabola, even though it's just a build up, it makes that song sound so much more complete. Also can't forget Right In Two. Schism, Lateralus, 46 & 2, and Right in a two are my personal favorites even if they are more known songs. If you were gonna listen to albums all the way throw Aenima, or lateralus for sure. Opiate is a short EP definitely worth listening too as well (although nothing done by Tool I would say is "short") if you want an idea what they will most likely play. Just look at their set lists on setlist.fm from Voodoo this past year. Saw them in Atlanta with primus this year as well, practically the same setlist but with some extra little gold in there.
