In your opinion, do you think they'll put Childish and Chance on the same day? While it makes sense thematically, I would think you'd want to split them up so that people don't just overload on buying those day passes.
Would like to buy single day passes for the Phoenix Day and Childish day and maybe check out what Tool is all about if they play on one of those days.
Need to save Chance for Firefly so I can look forward to something besides Muse on that mess of a lineup.

You could just not go to Firefly...
I'm guessing Chance and Childish will be on the same day. Like when Jack White and The Strokes were on the same day in 2014
Tool at GovBall/Boston Calling is similar to U2 at Bonnaroo, in that they don't match the rest of the lineup in terms of their demographic.
That aside, this is an excellent opportunity for young people to discover Tool, and hopefully they will make the effort to do so.
I'm hoping I can force my 17 year old sister and her friend to sit through Tool and experience them. Almost more excited for that than for myself to experience Tool.

Strokes into Jack White Beck into Strokes I would say those make sense and could see it happening Gambino into Chance Wu Tang into Tool Lorde into Phoenix
What's the general "feel" of Gov Ball? I imagine it's a lot like Landmark Festival (DC) was in 2015 (focus is the music, fairly spread out, diverse crowd and not all teens like Firefly)?
Enjoying the city before/after the day's sets (big plus) and of course the fantastic lineup are the main selling points. What are some other factors I should take into consideration?
Thanks guys!
It can get young. I ran into my friends 16 year old sister last time I went and made sure she knew to find me if she had problems. It's not terribly young, unlike the second day at Meadows fest was, but I'd expect to see lots of mid 20s. It is like landmark, I was at that last year and hoped theyd do it again.
I like it. The perks are nice. You can bounce between stages and always have a good spot. No waiting on bathroom lines. The bar areas are cool. Some ppl complain about the crowds in GA being young. I dont really mind that; but if you do, VIP cuts down on those interactions.
If money is tight for you, I wouldnt do it. If you can swing it, its worth it for the perks.
1. Gambino - loved Awaken My Love and doesn't seem to have any other US dates announced as of right now (but I expect that to change). Would be great in the Beck spot
2. Mark Ronson vs. Kevin Parker - First US show of this. Have kept myself from looking up spoilers of how this show will be so I'm excited as to how it will turn out. I expect them in the Jamie XX spot
3. Cage the Elephant - REALLY hoping they don't conflict with anyone I haven't seen that I want to. But seeing as I've seen them 4 times already I may have to skip out on them:/ if I can catch them I may try to play with them
4. Phoenix - Never seen them! They were wrapping up their last festival run as I had just started going to smaller feats. Their live videos give me a lot to be excited about
5. Chance - Had a huge year last year. I have a feeling we are going to get a meadows redemption and have Kanye show up

Initially wasn't thrilled with the lineup (the second line in particular does nothing for me), but it's been growing on me. Really digging Parquet Courts' last album.
1) Tool. I have waited a long time for them to return to the east coast. When CoS confirmed them earlier I was going to Govball regardless of the rest of the lineup. I have been listening to them a lot lately and they are going to be absolutely amazing. Hoping for 46 and 2, parabola, and Lateralus. 2) the avalanches I have never seen them and if they are good live. I think this could be the most fun set of the weekend. 3) Parquet Courts They are amazing and I can't wait to see them. 4) Childish Gambino Saw him a few years ago and thought he was great. Love the album and think it's gonna translate so cool live. 5) Skepta Great album, good get for govball. Should be a lot of fun.
Honorable mention: royal blood, warpaint, and schoolboy q

Hey everyone, may be attending for the first time after the disaster known as the firefly lineup. Any tips and tricks for newcomers?
In terms of where to stay and how to get there, you can do a search for this thread as well as the Panorama thread (since that's on the same location).
Other tips and tricks... don't drink the $13 Miller Lites and you'll be all set!

Top 5 Sets: 1. Franz Ferdinand - This was one of my favorite bands growing up and cannot wait to finally see them.
2. The Avalanches - Since I Left You is a classic and there were some great songs on Wildflower too. Maybe Danny Brown will come out for Frankie Sinatra and Wozard of Iz.
3. Beach House - I saw them open for Future Islands at the Windrunner festival in Baltimore in 2015. They are just so moody and cool, hopefully this set will be after sundown.
4. Phoenix - Thomas Mars is a natural showmen and these guys bring a real lively show.
5. Mac Demarco - The odd stage banter alone will be legendary.
I would be pretty excited about this. A day pass on Sunday for Stormzy > Charlie XCX > Mark Ronson v Kev > Parquet Courts/Mac > The Avalanches > Air would be excellent.

I could keep going. This lineup rules.
Still wish it had one more alt-rock anchor in the top 2 lines and don't think it should have any Meadows crossover in the future, let alone 2 acts in the top 3 lines, but I'm coming around to it.
Here's my Top 15, very excited to see the daily breakdown:
1. Childish Gambino 2. Phoenix 3. Royal Blood 4. The Avalanches 5. Mac Demarco 6. Francis and the Lights 7. Bleachers 8. Chance 9. Franz Ferdinand 10. Beach House 11. KP vs MR 12. Air 13. Car Seat Headrest 14. Parquet Courts 15. The Orwells

Not attending, but top 5 most anticipated if I were:
1) TOOL
2) Beach House 3) Rufus Du Sol 4) Car Seat Headrest 5) The Avalanches
I would have loved to include Air since I still play their music regularly, but was bitterly disappointed when I saw them perform on the Pocket Symphony tour a decade ago. Their music did not translate live at all.
