He already released I think. Pretty sure he released when Trump was elected. I would rather have no new Wu - Tang
He only released clips. He tried putting on a "lecture" at Webster Hall where he said hed play the whole thing. But Webster cancelled because they didnt want to be associated with him.
By many accounts the album was a marketing gimmick and not particularly good.

Right on. I still would have liked to hear it. I dig RZA's beats. Some of the snippets sounded tight.
Its still so awesome to me whenever I hear Chance on the radio or in the news. A few years ago that was the dude standing near the fountain at Bonnaroo spraying ppl with a super soaker. So crazy. Never would have thought he'd blow up like that. Happy for his success.
That definitely plays a big role in my fandom of him, even when I don't love Coloring Book. Just a pure admiration for how he's led his career and the success he's gotten. I remember talking to a friend of mine three years ago saying I think he'll headline Lolla by 2020. Looks like I underestimated him

Alright! Extra day off granted and i'm officially in for Friday! Bought my ticket and ferry pass today.
So my plan so far is to head straight to the island after the land at LaGuardia at 10:20. I figure a bus or an Uber would be best to get over there. Hoping for some decent after shows for Friday night since I'll have some time to kill before my late night train to Philly. Since I have to get back over to Manhattan that evening, purchasing the ferry pass was the best option right?
Now give me some late night shows at Webster or something.. Always wanted to see a show there

As a reminder to all, Norm MacDonald is at Caroline's on Broadway on Thursday night. That's my Thursday night plan, if anyone else is doing it and wants to meet up let me know.

Truthfully if you are only going Friday and only needed the ferry pass for the end of the night.. You really didnt need a ferry pass at all. They only check for it during the day when arriving to Randalls. Nobody really checks for it at the end of the night when everyone is leaving. Its just too crazy then. Everyone just walks right onto the boat. But really it's such a clusterfuck that, I don't even think that's worth it. I usually just walk the bridge back to Manhattan and catch a Lyft (fuck Uber) to where ever I am headed. Just doing that would spare you the crazy wait and be much cheaper.
It's looking more likely that the wife and I will be going to New York May 31st, with some of my family for my dad's birthday that weekend. We'll be hitting up the city the first couple days, but then trekking out West to Niagara, and ziplining (when my sister showed my dad a clip of ziplining at Niagara Falls, he said he wanted to do that - he is 73, so we had to make it happen.)
Anyway, we will be returning to NYC Saturday night. The rest of the family is leaving Sunday morning, but my wife and I want to stay for the GovBall Sunday.
So, what is the best route for Sunday night - specifically leaving the island and heading towards LaGuardia? Ferry, bridge, pick-up, helicopter, teleportation?

Are you going straight from the fest to the airport? If so, walk the RFK bridge and catch a Lyft.

Typically, Fridays after shows are artists that play earlier in the day, as well as Saturday artists correct? Saint Motel from Saturday could be cool too
Air is number 1. They haven't played a New York city show since March 2010 and they are long overdue for a headlining show.
Charles Bradley - hasn't played a headlining show in the city since getting sick and it would be great to see on his own that Thursday before the festival (or sometime late night that weekend).
Franz Ferdinand - They have two open dates after their sunday set at Gov Ball before they head to CT. They could certainly do an extra show or a late night show.
Local Natives - Would be cool although it would be a tight squeeze as they are playing that same weekend at Primavera Sound in Spain.
Warpaint - they have plenty of open dates around the festival.

To be fair, that was only like 6 months ago and I don't know if he's played any shows anywhere since then. And he had a NYC show like a year ago. But I would also love an extra chance to see him!

True but for a guy who plays in the NYC all the time, that's like an eternity for him. I'm just happy that he is back and able to tour. His last album was great and he and his band put on an awesome show!
