Muse is going to be touring US festivals next year and would absolutely get me here. They are one of the few bucket list acts that by the end of the year I haven't seen. I know you guys don't like them though.
They could do worse than Muse in same vein as Black Keys/GNR, but hopefully they counter program it well. Something like Chic or James Blake would be cool. Probably would be corny EDM though.
RHCP has 3 shows at MSG in Feb. Wouldn't that rule them out?
Black Keys played MSG and Barclays around the same time ahead of GovBall 2015, didn't seem like they cared. Plus I believe all of those shows are sold out.
I fully expect RCHP to be at either GovBall or Panorama in conjunction with playing another corp fest.
Phoenix preheadlined in 2014, if their new album is at least decent, I think they return as a headliner.
I don't think they'd move enough tickets for GovBall to consider them as a top 3 act, but they'll totally draw a big crowd whether they'd give them a pre-headlining spot or opposite a closer.

Kurt Vile > Janelle Monae > Washed Out > Julian Casablancas > La Roux > Phoenix > TV On The Radio > Outkast is still one of the greatest days of this fest ever.. Only overshadowed by the next day of the same year.

Black Keys played MSG in Sep 2014 andheadlined Gov Ball in June 2015. In 2012, they played MSG in Mar and Catalpta in July so.....maybe Panorama is possible for RHCP but I just don't see them coming back to the area so soon after 3 area shows. Muse seems like a perfect fit for Gov ball for the rock slot. "
i dont think you will ever Jay-Z play a US fest again as long as he is attached to MIA, at least not a summer one. Gov Ball and Pano make 0 sense being 2-3 months from MIA in the same region.

I had a much different schedule than you but agree that it was one of the best days I ever had at a fest.
Phoenix subbed in 2014 so can't see them moving to headliner in 2016, especially with the lukewarm reaction to Bankrupt. Feel like with FF and Eminem you'd need a newer, younger pop/EDM type headliner.
I may be alone in saying this, but I wouldn't care if Kendrick or Arcade Fire are booked for GovBall, in fact it would probably increase the chance I buy a ticket.
Beyonce isnt doing any NYC festivals.....she just did 2 nights at Citi Field and a night at Metlife.
Also I can't see Phoenix in a top 3 anytime soon. Bankrupt tanked in sales and their popularity dwindled pretty quick.
Bankrupt felt more like a continuation of their last record which was totally fine but didn't move them forward. Does anyone think Gov Ball could get, not as a headliner but as a fairly high sub, The Gaslight Anthem?
