Didn't mean they'd be number 1 ...just the three headliners....Muse would be the 1 here
they wouldnt headline at all, they're 9th at hangout. I know their billing isnt always perfect but sigur ro would most likely not even be top 5 at gov ball.

Ah fair point...just thought their show needs to be seen at night and their production would likely need the main stage...not that the target demo of 14-18 year olds would really care for their act anyway
I just realized, are LCD in play for this at all? I know they plan to do their own tour but if gov ball doesn't mind getting them a year after everyone else...
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief

So what are the remaining plausible headliner options for this festival? Is it just me, or is the list of remaining options pretty small?
Eminem Kanye (his day was cancelled this year) Metallica Pearl Jam Foo Fighters Muse Tom Petty Phish Mumford & Sons Kings of Leon Calvin Harris
Kendrick and LCD have nothing booked during Gov Ball, but it would be weird for them to play the same exact festival venue in consecutive years. Maybe something left-field like Soundgarden, Tool, Arctic Monkeys, or Lady Gaga?

Take off Metallica, add Jay-Z. Arcade Fire (same as LCD and Kendrick). Maybe Vampire Weekend. I'm not too sure on others that aren't left field. The Cure, Bruce, Paul etc. we will have an idea of Petty next week at least.

Safe to say Arcade Fire is out since they're playing Primavera Sound.

Vampire Weekend won't be playing stuff until next year.
Yeah, given the projected timeline for their new album, I think their best bet is to play some of the late summer/early autumn festivals. Festivals like Panorama, Wayhome, Lolla, Osheaga, Outside Lands, and ACL.
Where are they even billed anymore? They were eight on Okeechobee's lineup last year, but first at Forecastle.
I could see them close a stage again at GovBall in front of 100 people like they did against Kanye last time.
Ha, I was just going to bring that up. I was at that set but was so exhausted from the weekend that I left when they still had half hour to go. They've headlined MSG before so I suppose they could close out the stage again. I assume they're going up against a pop/edm/hip-hop style headliner. I have no idea who is still in play for this though I imagine they are having trouble lock down headliners at this point.
