Got excited for a second. Then I thought about it and I think they mean that someone who's considered a "snapchat-artist" is taking over their snapchat to draw stuff or something.

It's probably a safe assumption we won't get the lineup until November. Last year wave two was announced after Hulaween. This year they already have the exposure they need so I can see them them just dropping the full lineup and then have a wave 2 that adds a couple more artists then the entire Jungle 51 and Aquachobee lineup

idk, i dont think they would be tweeting funy gifs at everyone who asks about the lineup if they didnt plan on releasing it somewhat soon.

Idk it's only two weeks away. Doesn't make sense to announce it then make another wave a week later. I can guarantee there is a lot of crossover with Hula

That's actually pretty good news. The Hulaween lineup is pretty great.
There's a lot I like on the Hula lineup but definitely not really what I was picturing to be on the Okee lineup.
Not in full obviously. But if you could pick 10 acts I'd want at any fest off of Hula's lineup (from the top of the lineup poster down), I'd take String Cheese, My Morning Jacket, Umphrey's, STS9, Big Gigantic featuring The Motet, Claypool/Lennon, Gramatik, Lettuce, Russo/Benevento/Burbridge and Snarky Puppy. I don't know enough about Disclosure or Logic to go with either of them, and though I've seen him a couple of times and will again next weekend, Anderson.Paak & Free Nationals are pretty overrated on Inforoo. Some people talk like they are the greatest act they've ever seen or whatever. No way. They are entertaining, but it's still festival-day filler IMHO.

Yea I'd take pretty much everything you have listed. Disclosure is a waste IMO if it isn't the live set. I could certainly see some crossover, but I can't imagine more than a handful.
at a quick glance i see no crossover between Hula and Okee last year other than Lettuce
Odesza and Big Wild also off the top of my head. I'm not saying it will be a ton of acts but I imagine there is someone on the top of the lineup like Odesza was last year that will show up at Okee and that's why they're waiting. Just intuition and some of the answers we've received in the street team chats.
Didn't mean to make it credible I'm just really confident after talking to many people who work with the fest. Sorry for the false alarm. Hulaween has 5 artists from this years Okee lineup as well Gramatik, Lettuce, Manic Focus, Big Gigantic and Twiddle.

If anything that means next year's Hula lineup will just have a lot of acts from next year's Okee.
none of those crossover acts are big enough to hold an announcement over.
Last year the initial announcement video had Odesza playing in the background but they weren't announced.. Right after Hulaween they announced the 2nd wave with Odesza.. So yeah I believe they were big enough.. I made the comparison because of how many acts they shared the first year. With Okeechobee and Hula both getting bigger and the success of the Hula artists playing at Okeechobee over acts like Robert Plant, Mumford, Hall & Oates etc I think it's safe to say this years lineup will be way more curated to that style of fest. But I guess we will know forrsure soon.

thats different than withholding the entire lineup if im understanding you right.

I doubt they do waves this year and just wait until after Hulaween to drop it all. Now that they have such a big presence and exposure it makes more sense to drop a full poster and catch attention rather then one that's not complete. I'm the street team leader of the Tampa area and on conference calls they weren't fond of the beef they were recieving for throwing the fest the same weekend as Bear Creek last year and always advised us to be really supportive of other fests throughout the year.

On another note if anyone has any local dj friends who play techno with a decent following send me a soundcloud/url etc. I just got a message from someone in booking saying they're looking for people to round out the Jungle 51 lineup right now.

Do you know if they'll have other late night options this year? Like, what if we don't want to listen to techno all night, rather an actual band play till the sunrise?

What do you mean throwing the fest the same weekend as bear creek? 2015 was cancled and 2016 was September 30th-October 1st
