Haven't seen the snapchat thing but I'll take everyone's word it's lame. Missed opportunity there, not sure if other festivals have used snapchat like that. It would have been a cool way to release clues of artists.
On another note if anyone has any local dj friends who play techno with a decent following send me a soundcloud/url etc. I just got a message from someone in booking saying they're looking for people to round out the Jungle 51 lineup right now.
The Techno Jungle alone makes me want to check out this festival.
Eh, to be honest the lineup for it was a huge let down. I anticipated that would be what would get me to the fest but I think Damian Lazarus was the only name I knew.
I doubt they do waves this year and just wait until after Hulaween to drop it all. Now that they have such a big presence and exposure it makes more sense to drop a full poster and catch attention rather then one that's not complete. I'm the street team leader of the Tampa area and on conference calls they weren't fond of the beef they were recieving for throwing the fest the same weekend as Bear Creek last year and always advised us to be really supportive of other fests throughout the year.
What do you mean throwing the fest the same weekend as bear creek? 2015 was cancled and 2016 was September 30th-October 1st
Sorry I meant AURA. I get the Suwannee fests mixed up. I haven't been since Blackwater

Wasn't Derrick fuggin May on it? And Im saying this because the lineup (main one as well) looked decent last year and having an all night techno stage would be well worth the ~$350

That lineup was sick. Coachella and FYF are the only other multigenre festivals that would book the likes of Voiski, DJ Three, Marcel Fengler, a three-hour Derrick May set and more.

Was Derrick May a late add? I sure as hell dont remember him on the initial release.

For what it's worth I asked when to expect a lineup to booking today and I got "Can't say. The initial lineup is about to be complete." Today they asked people & organized a huge promoting team for Hullaween. Not sure if that means we get the lineup before/after.

Does Soundslinger do Hulaween as well? Either way sounds to me that the lineup wouldn't be coming until after Halloween.

No. Hula is Sliver Wrapper and Purple Hat productions.
I'm not sure what this means, but I don't imagine it's very encouraging.
They have acts booked for this coming year. So it'll def be back. But it is a little baffling; the whole thing seemed like it was Paul's baby. Kinda weird that he would bail. Wonder what went down.

"Philosophical differences" meaning Paul Peck wants to continue booking good acts while everyone else wants this to become Hangout Festival?
probably
Peck: "Radiohead, Arcade Fire, and Chance the rapper would do really well!" Everyone else: "We'll give you chance, but kings of leon and calvin harris are 'a better fit'"

You have got to be kidding me. I move to Florida. Get excited that I actually live within a few hours from an interesting and promising festival for the first time in my life. And his happens? Can someone at least bring Big Guava back...
