I'm really digging Omar S. Anybody else on the Jungle lineup I should check out? I'm not all to familiar with electronic music.
Idk. Some people said DVS1 and Nightmares on Wax was cool, but I don't know anyone at that stage. I will know in early February if I'm going or not, and if not I'll give the board first crack for face and shipping before putting it out there.
If you do end up making it, I think we should all have an inforoo meet up. That might be cool?
For sure. Everyone I ever met off the site or knew already is cool as fuck. It's pretty easy to make friends and party with mfs who are into live music because it's a shared interest that is often lively and participatory. It's not usually super easy to pull off except early time shows.

I'm down as well! I'm roadtrippin down from MD. Can't wait.
BTW anyone read through the Reddit AMA from the talent buyer? I have a hard time beliveing that KoL-Usher+Roots-Bassnectar was what they wanted all along but that;s what he said. Anyway if anyone is interested here's the full chat:

Also with each festival lineup that comes out, I feel better and better about what Okeechobee has (looking at Sasquatch today). It was easy to feel disappointed when Okeechobee came out as it was the first festival to release their lineup. Now that we know that most lineups aren't really wowing anyone this year anyway, Okeechobee looks just fine.

I feel the same way! Now if they can just expand a little each year, trying to grab a bigger headliner, etc, they will be moving in the right direction. Hopefully they continue to book quality acts, and stay away from the shitty filler EDM.

DVS1 and Nightmares on Wax are the big ones.. Minilogue Live should be a treat! Ryan Elliott is also great, and is a resident at Berghain. Everyone falls under techno/tech house/deep house genre in the Jungle. It gets weird.

I'm really digging Nightmares on Wax! He's listed twice...Do you think he'll play with a live band and then do the DJ set in the Jungle?

He was listed on the initial lineup as a DJ set, so I'm thinking if anything he'd do a DJ set in jungle 51 and a DJ set on one of the main stages.

Hmm, I don't see him on the general lineup, just for Jungle 51 so I assume it'll just be the DJ set in the Jungle. Be prepared for something a little more techno-y

Oh! Maybe he was just supposed to be on the jungle lineup the whole time? So who do you guys think will be playing the beach stage?

Well it's pretty obvious Tauk will be on Thursday. Aside from that I'm not sure.
They haven't announced anything on them yet, so presumably they'll be available for a while. They posted out that only 500 3 days remained sometime on Friday. Now they're saying the 3's will be sold by the end of the day if they make it that far. 4's are on Tier 2 which are $269+fees. Presumably these would sell out too if there is a smaller allotment than the number of 3 day passes and if people move toward that structure because they can't get a 3 anymore. It's only a $20.00 difference, so I don't think people would mind absorbing those. I just don't know if they plan to also offer a by-day pass.
Their clock says 31 days, 32 minutes and 05 seconds!
Right on. That's good to see that ticket sales are going well for this. But I hope next year they do a bit better with that top line. We shall see. It's still going to be a fun weekend, and it's only 2 hours from me.
Yeah I think last year had about 30k or so. The layout was pretty good, though I did wish at times that the stages were just a bit more spaced out between each other because during the headlining sets it was pretty dang packed. That being said, there wasnt a bad spot to view the stages at so you wouldnt have to show up too terribly early to get a good spot. Last year I strolled up maybe 15 minutes beforehand and got good spots.
i didn't go last year, how's the layout for the stages? lots of space for shows? do you have to go early like you do at roo?
The three main stages are almost side by side but angled differently and have barriers and trees and vendors in between so there really isnt any terrible sound bleed. The 'Here' stage is the middle one and I did notice a tiny bit of sound bleed when something really, really loud was on the 'Now' stage to its left but nothing that moving a few feet away couldn't solve. There are some areas of congestion near the back row of vendors at night but other than that I didn't notice any real problems. Nothing like trying to cross the ditch at Roo in the evening.
As far as going early, do you mean arrive on site early or head to a stage for a set early?
Also, last year 32-35k were estimated bu this year attendance has been capped at 30k per the city of Okeechobee so expect less congestion.
