i didn't go last year, how's the layout for the stages? lots of space for shows? do you have to go early like you do at roo?
The three main stages are almost side by side but angled differently and have barriers and trees and vendors in between so there really isnt any terrible sound bleed. The 'Here' stage is the middle one and I did notice a tiny bit of sound bleed when something really, really loud was on the 'Now' stage to its left but nothing that moving a few feet away couldn't solve. There are some areas of congestion near the back row of vendors at night but other than that I didn't notice any real problems. Nothing like trying to cross the ditch at Roo in the evening.
As far as going early, do you mean arrive on site early or head to a stage for a set early?
Also, last year 32-35k were estimated bu this year attendance has been capped at 30k per the city of Okeechobee so expect less congestion.
and i meant going early to shows to get a good spot for it. but 30k? thats pretty crazy. i thought this lineup was really good in comparison to most fests with more money and more attendees. that being said im very excited for the schedule to come out so i can make a realistic playlist for artists im actually gonna watch. im already scared for conflicts
The way it's set up sounds wonderful to me. I just hope that late night options don't end up getting to crazy packed.
Jungle 51 area can get pretty packed but that's kind of part of the vibe and it's really fun. The only other time I felt a bit overwhelmed by the crowd was during Bassnectar on the 'Be' stage but I mean...bassfam and all that. They weren't intolerable though.

I wouldn't worry about arriving at a set super early, crowds are manageable. If you want rail for a headliner maybe post up during the previous set but otherwise you should be fine. And there WILL be conflicts. Last year I went in expecting nothing and not making any plans for my schedule (other than Odesza) and I STILL had conflicts each day.

Nightmares on Wax at Jungle 51! Just go to that. Easy decision.
I'd have nothing to see until like 5pm every day. Kinda glad I passed on this. Also, please do NOT waste your time on The Knocks. I saw them at Roo last year and it was the worst/most amateur set I've ever seen in 10yrs of going to festivals.

How is that even possible? What type of music do you listen to? (edit to say this isn't intended as a dis question)

If I hadn't sold my ticket my schedule would've probably looked like...
Thurs: I literally don't know a single act on here besides Tauk/Conbrio and I believe they're kind of jammy (not my thing). Fri: Lewis Del Mar -> Mac DeMarco -> Cold War Kids -> Young The Giant -> Joywave Sat: The Revivalists -> Sleigh Bells -> Bassnectar -> Usher I guess? -> Porter Robinson Sun: Bleachers -> Pretty Lights

The PowWow > Sturgill > Usher overlap is really irritating on Saturday, but other than that I can't complain too much. BBNG overlapping with Mac hurts too.
Any recommendations for what to see early in the day on Friday? That's easily the weakest day for me personally.

Agreed. I've been semi digging Polyenso and Jacob Banks, but yeah not too much going on early that day.

12th Planet is pretty good Dub. I hadn't seen him since around 2011, but we caught a show a few weeks ago.
Perpetual Groove is an excellent jam band and very cool. Jabco caught them in November and told me they're pretty much not to be missed.
badbadnotgood is an awesome downbeat jazz/electronic band from (I think) Toronto. We saw them perform with Ghostface Killah a couple of years ago. Very, very talented group of younger musicians.
Those are all on my potential schedule plus WFF because he's always pretty fun live even though it's a lot of hype.
CBDB and Perpetual Groove are gonna be great on Friday. But honestly, this schedule is great but there is a couple really bad conflics and some things that don't make sense. Omar S, Nightmares on Wax and Pretty Lights on Sunday? Come on...BADBADNOTGOOD and Mac Demarco? Andersoon Paak and The Growlers? Powow and Sturgill Simpson? Bascially every artists I was really excited for is conflicting. I'm gonna have a great weekend, but these are hard choices, ladies and gents.

Sturgill Simpson and the Powow is the worst conflict. Isn't the Powwow usually later in the night? I wasn't even thinking of that conflicting with anything. I figured it'd be against Bassnectar or something. They really scheduled Saturday night weird as ****.
scheduling has us out - it's a pretty shallow lineup for me and I'd be missing half of the bands I wanted. Oh well.
I totally understand what you're saying. The scheduling just doesn't seem right in some places, but honestly it does work out great for me. Plus, I'm really interested to see what Sturgill's show is going to be like. I'm guessing he won't have a lot of people at the show, which will be that much better for me!
Fri- 12th Planet > Perpetual Groove > Funky Dawg Brass Band > VHS Collective > Badbadnotgood > Cold War Kids > Young the Giant > Flume > Vulpeck
Saturday- Louis Futon > George Clinton > The Floozies > Griz or Sleigh Bells > Snails > Powow > Sturgill Simpson > Usher or Ott > Porter > DVS1
Sunday- Jacuzzi Boys > SOJA > Moon Taxi > Bleachers > Anderson Paak > Lumineers > Pretty Lights > KoL (maybe) > Nightmares on Wax > Omar S
Other than some annoying 15 minute overlaps I made out okay with little conflicts.
My dude! That Thursday run is going to be epic. Can't wait for tauk into Con Brio! I'm also pretty stocked with Roosevelt Collier too. I've heard some great things about him.
Also, how's DVS1 for the uninitiated? I've been getting sooooooo into Omar S, and I gotta say i'm disappointed he's playing on Sunday. Still gonna be a great show, but wish he was on Saturday...

Great techno, if you like Omar you'll definitely like DVS1. Check out Ryan Elliot as well.
