i'd be thrilled to have Armin at Bonnaroo. #4 on DJ Mag list.
I agree if you could get 2000-2010 Armin. He hasn't produced any of his own music in a long time and it was somewhat public knowledge that Benno de Goeji produced the majority of his music (even before Mat Zo put it out there). In 2016 Armin is in the same category as Tiesto, a legend that made good music to a sellout that puts his name on mainstream sounds.

i've actually been listening to armin from ASOT stage at ultra lately at the gym, at least he still does trance where as tiesto just follows the mainstream as much as he can nowadays

Yeah he definitely isn't at the cailber of a "sellout" that Tiesto has hit, but you gotta admit that you'd take an old Armin set 10/10x over a current set. I don't hate those guys for becoming mainstream because they're making ridiculous money and are at "the top" of their industry. I just hate to look back and see what I missed in the 90s/early 00's when guys like Tiesto and Armin used to truly care about their music.

no doubt, i'd love to see some type of "parade of athletes" set, speaking about the album vs the actual olympic set he played

Sure, I can certainly appreciate your argument, but as stated he at least still has some trance elements in his sets. While he may spin some mainstream stuff, it's worlds better than whatever pop or trap DJ Bonnaroo is looking to book.
this set in particular i've listened to several times this year. It's definitely more party music than trance music but goddamn it's fun.

and now i'm listening to it, def been on this weird armin kick lately
Especially with the Grammy nominations I think Flume would be a good get. Dropped his new album since last time. Would be way more exciting than Major Lazer.
So I've been seeing a rumor our there on the interwebs that Skrillex may drop a new album in May................
I don't believe anything "youredm" writes about, but they even have said it appears to be fake. With that being said, he has snapped/been snapped with a lot of artists over his "break" the last month or so and I've seen some stuff about him writing some material for "From First to Last". With Skrillex I really don't think anybody knows. Hell, he could be working on stuff for another new group/moniker that we don't know about.

Touche, I didn't see that follow up article. I would prefer him coming out with some original stuff as opposed to more Jack U or him making stuff for rappers. I've never been into DogBlood but I know that is wildly popular when those 2 get together.
Speaking of which. When the hell can we get some new Duck Sauce?

Yeah I never got into Dog Blood when it was "big" but Skrillex is definitely my guilty pleasure as a solo artist. I hope Jack U dies permanently at the end of 2016 (thought I highly doubt it considering their commercial success) and Skrillex puts/is putting some serious time into a new album/EP and does a full US tour next year. I will probably be taking the year off for fests due to financial reasons but would LOVE to see him stop back in Columbus.

Lol enjoy that flume. Saw him twice last year. I'll never get that one back. First show was very wack but I chalked that up to just being the hangout tent and him playing on Sunday late afternoon but it was the same shit show 5 months later come acl.

Majorlazer, odesza, kygo, flume. In that order.
I saw him at stage ae and it was the best electronic show I've seen. There aren't a ton to compare it to but still

Finally got around to watching the documentary on the making of The Range's last album. It's really interesting and gave me a new appreciation for it. He basically scanned youtube for unsigned aspiring artists and sampled their vocals. The documentary is about him reaching out to those people to get permission and who they are and what their life is like.
Has that Australian artist Pogo who makes all the beats from Disney movie samples ever played anything? Or is he just an internet famous person? He would be a fun set.
