yup, i've accepted who i am and i'm not ashamed of it at all. i turn 30 in a couple weeks here and i know what i enjoy doing and it is what it is.
Okay my dude you need to give this shit up then. You're basically the old guy at the club now.
meh. i'm 31 and don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. someone's gotta be the responsible mom at these events. or the old lady on the rail. either way.
quacking lol. some people just can't listen to the same mindless, trite garbage for a whole weekend. It's cool if ya dig it, but we will continue to call a spade a spade
yup, i've accepted who i am and i'm not ashamed of it at all. i turn 30 in a couple weeks here and i know what i enjoy doing and it is what it is. i tend to not talk about it much here cuz people here don't like it so i just keep to myself for the most part. i'm also not one to say that these edm acts are super talented or anything along those lines, it's just fun and i like it
"indie" music bores the hell out of me. it's gonna be lit, light me up, don't care :-)
you're a good guy though fore, respect for you
thanks man, and the same to you. I was being genuine. I totally get wanting to just go cut lose and dance and act a fool at a show. Hell, I've seen Major Laser and had a grand time. The mass EDM just became so monotonous to me that I couldn't attend those kinda shows for very long and have as great of a time as I originally did. Plus, I love indie music (mostly 80's-mid 00's) because I enjoy the complex emotions and thought process and analyzing music more than just going wild (most of the time.) I still love dancing my ass off a lot though (just saw Justice in NYC and it was possibly my favorite show of 2016.) It's just the electronic stuff that Roo got this year does nothing for me, aside from Crystal Castles and even that isn't much because they don't have Alice anymore.
But, I hope that you and everyone else that goes has the time of your lives this year! Deep down, I'm extremely sad as I doubt I'll ever be back on the Farm and I hate that because it is my favorite place on Earth
I said it in the lineup thread but as an EDM fan and somebody who typically goes to "EDM fests" this is atrocious. I'm the type that if I walk past a set that seems high-energy I'll give it a shot no matter who it is and I usually have a good time for at least a little while (even if it's someone like Getter or Borgore). But they made it obvious that EDM was a focus this year and added a huge load of hot garbage.
G Jones: like his stuff and it's really different, I just don't see how he fits on any Roo lineup.
G Jones fits well on the Farm more than almost any other EDM artist. He's Bassnectar Junior.

and i grew up with my dad's favorite bands being rush, aerosmith, zeppelin so i've listened to all sorts of stuff my whole life. just go drawn to edm. i've been front row for slipknot, i've seen tool a handful of times, hell i've been to a new found glory/alkaline trio concert (love trio). so i like all sorts of stuff and am really pumped to see U2 on the farm, saw them on 360 tour and that was so incredible. i love music, music is the best, edm isn't really music but i like it. my brain tells me i like it, it is what it is

Okay my dude you need to give this shit up then. You're basically the old guy at the club now.
And you're basically just a dick on an internet message board for a festival you don't plan on attending. Stop shitting on everyone else's tastes and go over to a forum for whatever fest you plan on attending. You're just insufferable.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Everyone so sensitive today!
Juggs, give this bunny a hug.
most of us are in a pretty good mood ;-) just poking back at the bear a little, he'll be awake soon i'm sure
So I'm only a very casual EDM fan, but doesn't the amount of EDM on the lineup kinda suck for even the dedicated fans? Think about all the EDM on the bottom 2/3 of this lineup you're excited for (I've wanted to see Goldfish for a while)... now think about the fact that they'll all be scheduled between 3pm and 7pm.
My favorite DJ's/electronic artists are Flying Lotus, Jamie Xx, Four Tet, Justice, Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Washed Out and Tycho (if you count them).
I went through all the more EDM type artists on the lineup last night and gave them a shot. I liked Flume and Big Gigantic already, but ended up also liking Rezz and Claude Von Stroke. I had a few that I didn't like, didn't dislike: Han Solo, Illenium, and G Jones.
The rest was not my style. I'm over trap at this point, and also not really into repetitive drops that sound like vomiting and/or cats screeching.

Trap and dubstep is to the point now where it feels like 2002 nu-metal and all the Limp Bizkit and Korn ripoffs went from playing to 20,000 people at Ozzfest to playing 500 capacity clubs 3 years later
