When looking back on it. It's pretty surprising someone like LiveNation didn't book a ridiculous amount of EDM at Roo. They are certainly a huge part of that bubble.
im betting that they bring in a lot more next year. more like 2015s level of edm.
would prefer: pretty lights, a flume return, porter, 2manydjs (a dream i know), louis the child, melvv, vanic, zhu, tchami, tycho
expecting: major lazer, zedd, chainsmokers, axwell ingrosso, dj mustard.
just really REALLY hoping they avoid wasting a HLer slot on calvin harris
eeeeeeeevery year I get that creepy feeling they'll pull the trigger on Aoki and thankfully they are smart enough not to do it. I'm kind of surprised they never do Tiesto or something like that. Not that I'm advocating that.

Is it possible to be worse than it was this year? Also are we ever going to get a late night/sunrise set DJ again on the which stage?
I don't necessarily have faith in them to book the right type of person to play that time slot. I could easily see them put like freaking Carnage or someone like that there.
Based on how packed the late night generic EDM was this year (Zeds Dead, Adventure Club, etc..), I'm prepared to see more of the same next year.
Adventure Club has been to town a few times but they are booked for the "Fashion Meets Music Festival" here in Columbus on Labor Day weekend and they are billed THIRD on it right under Passion Pit and Mat & Kim. Haha DJ Khaled is somehow billed below them even. I could probably name like 2 songs of theirs tops. What I'm getting at is I bet they are pretty brutal to have to sit through.

FMMF is also a joke of a "fest". I wouldn't compare anything they do to any other music function in the country.
Let's face it....this EDM domination is in fact fizzling. Finally.
Not at all. The EDM acts draw some of the biggest crowds at festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, etc. and EDC Vegas, Electric Forest, and Ultra are some of the few American festivals that legitimately sell out.

You said the EDM domination is fizzling, which is incorrect.
Ultra has been the same for the past few years. Last year they didn't sell out until the fest (aka fake sellout), but this year they sold out a few months in advance.

Tiesto was there in 2008. Glad he hasn't shown up again recently though.

In a perfect world....what would you book?
That's a good question. I mean who I would want the most isn't the type of people they would ever book (Fedde Le Grand, Eric Prydz, Mark Knight) so I'm not overly sure. I just think for as big of a festival as they are they could do better than what they had this year. But yeah, I mean I thought their lineup was pretty good EDM wise in 2015 and 2014 for the most part (i.e. the lower billed acts).

Ah they got him right around the time of Kaleidoscope! That's probably not a bad get for them at the time. Now that would be a horrible decision based on what he's done since all of that.

I personally think they should turn pod 1 into an electronic haven. Make it more than EDM. They could cater to more people without taking away from other genres at the stages. Put kalliope there too

Eric Prydz at Roo makes so much sense, but now with the festival forcing artists to end earlier in the tents there would be a lot of untapped potential there.

Right? Let him go wild with his lazers on the Which. Can't imagine he'd play more than 1.5 - 2 hours though.

Boyz Noize just did an RA podcast, listened to it in the way home. Pretty much all techno and industrial, really great stuff. I didn't dig his studio album from a few years back but I dug this.
I think I could appreciate an Above & Beyond booking. Would make sense too after booking Lane 8 this year seeing as he's on their label. Of course, getting Lane 8 again would also be pretty awesome.
