DV&LM always plays the various EDCs. Funny story about them, EDC 2015 they played a 30 minute set for some weird reason and my friend was there waiting for the next person to play I think it was Prydz next, but my friend was peaking at the time so he was just balling his eyes out to DV & LM even though he fucking hates them. I always laugh at him for it. The effects of drugs man.. lol
Does anyone know if Lane 8 ever did that Kalliope set?
Yep, he played Saturday night. Kalliope posted a schedule on their Facebook afterwards.
Do you know what time?
Hung out there from probably 330 til sunrise and definitely wasn't during that time. The DJs ending the night Sat left a bit to be desired from me. They'd have a good song or two in the set, but there was so much garbage thrown in. And ZERO mixing skills.
Going to be disappointed if I missed Lane 8 up there bc I was watching a Ring of Fire car crash.

I'd guess 2-3. I remember groovy house tunes coming from Kalliope around then. Afterwards was a b2b with London Bridge and Klu and some other guys.

Lane 8 definitely played Kalliope from 2 to 3 and I 100% agree that the DJ on Kalliope afterwards from 3-4 was hot garbage. Absolutely zero mixing skills. My friends and I unanimously decided to leave for the silent disco and DJ Taye. Ended up being a good decision, he was legit and smoked a B with him during his set.

I'm listening to the Beatles Love album (it's FINALLY on Spotify) and I'm pretty sure if they just had whoever mixed this album do it live in a tent that it would be better than 3/4s of whoever Bonnaroo will inevitably book in a DJ capacity in any given year.

Ive been watching Day 1 of the Electric Daisy Carnival online and 1. If Roo booked The Magician it would be awesome and 2. (I may take a hit for this one) I never thought I'd say this 3-5 years ago but I would be totally ok with them bringing in Martin Solveig. He played a pretty groovy set with a few bass moments sprinkled within.

I love that album. They could literally just play it at a tent with no one on stage after the LNs and I'd probably go.

Someone oughta suggest this. LOVE singalong at the cinema tent, super late night.

Soooooooo the answer is yes. Hahahaha it's a shame they wouldn't have him come on after the SJ. That's just bad musical planning. The people after SJ on Kalliope sucked, was the main reason I left early.

Damn smoking a blunt with a silent disco artist sounds like a dream. Really wish I would have remembered the silent disco existed in my state of mind at 3:30am haha

We hit up the Silent Disco after venturing away from the SJ, but the DJ there at that point was no good either. Waaaaay too many air horns and the like, not what I was going for.
If only we had done Kalliope > Silent Disco instead of the other way around!

Fuck. If he played 2-3 while we were wandering around hoping/praying for something more compelling than the SJ to start up....only to keep coming back to the SJ tent after all haha, well, that makes me very very sad.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Next time I plan on having a list of all the late night things to do so when I am in a less than sober state it will be easier to make those decisions. Ah well, casualties of Bonnaroo. Bound to miss out on some great stuff

Seriously. wave of regret hitting me now.
The dj playing silent disco when we checked it out around 230 or whenever was not doing it for me. And so given my mindset at the time, that was enough to dissuade me from going back in there the rest of the night.

We r fools.
I know. Ya, those air horns from that one Silent Disco DJ killed it for the rest of the night in my mind.
I place all the blame squarely on the shoulders of Stephan Jenkins, the music legend from Third Eye Blind.

Second year in a row doing this to close out Saturday night. Becoming a nice little tradition.
Did you guys see the thing with Hippie Sabotage beating up festival security over the weekend? What a bunch of morons.
Saw that this morning. Definitely retracting my previous statement about them being at Roo in any way shape or form. What a bunch of entitled assholes.

Damn, that's really shitty. :/
Ed- What they did, not what you said haha.
I was never really educated on them at all in terms of music or personalities other than I've heard their name before but I mean. Good luck them ever getting booked anywhere else, absolutely ridiculous. And the Dancing Astronaut article I read had quotes from them after it and made it seem like they weren't apologetic at all and didn't even bother to bring up the assault part and that they were "put in a dangerous situation" ?! haaaaaaaa
Don't listen to much EDM anymore, but I saw wax tailor a couple years ago in San Fran and he was really good. Played with a live band, and did a lot of scratching. Not a lot of DJs out there like that anymore. Check him out, you guys might like him.
Chances of DJ Shadow at Roo? This new record is fantastic.
I've been enjoying it too. Most relevant and interesting release this side of Endtroducing. I think he played Roo a while ago, but I'm not sure what type of fests he plays these days. I looked up his current tour dates, and they're Europe-heavy, at least this year.
