This is an unrelated rant, but wow the T has been hot garbage lately. Why am I waiting 20+ minutes for Red Line trains?
It's making me reconsider some Boston area shows in the next couple months.
i dont take the T anymore for this very reason, only time in the past like 5 years ive used it is for Boston Calling and to get to south station. its embarassingly bad

Loved taking the T when I lived in Boston, probably rode it at least once or twice almost every day for six/seven years. Its never been perfect, and I always complained about it, but bummer to hear its only gone downhill since.

its been in a really terrible place especially since the orange line train caught on fire, non stop delays and bizarre decisions made by the T. Issues go way beyond the normal delays you’d expect
Yep, very happy that they're coming to town, since I didn't dare go to shows at the height of Delta when they last played Boston. Two sets, no opener on this tour...apparently, they're going full jam band.

Taylor spent basically all of Newport Folk Fest weekend hanging out with the Goose guys, so this makes sense

The first time I heard of Goose is when Dawes announced that they were playing two sets at the Goose-curated Fred fest in VA a year or two ago. Then, once I heard that Goose was playing Boston Calling, I checked them out and liked what I heard.
I'm wondering if it's more cost-effective for Bowery Boston to do shows at Roadrunner instead of the Royale, even when the artist might not be able to sell out Roadrunner, because Bowery/AEG owns Roadrunner, so they don't have to give a share of ticket sales to whomever owns the Royale and Bowery/AEG also gets 100% of the alcohol sales.
Both LiveNation and AEG have made an increasing priority in the last few years of doing shows in their owned venues whenever possible, probably because drink sales are a huge part of their own profit margin. The artist may get most of the ticket sales and merch sales, but whomever gets the alcohol sales is probably making the most money, at least at shows with ticket prices under $50 per ticket. Why let whomever owns the Royale or the MSG-owned Wang Theater receive all of the alcohol profits, when you can do the show in a building that you own outright or for which you pay a fixed rent?
dead & co prices are insane, even though its their final tour im passing on this, nothing under 200 for floor. glad i saw them this year
I think that Phil Lesh had a brilliant idea. Rather than tour with a fixed lineup like Dead & Company, he goes out and does multiple night stands in various cities with a different lineup of musicians in every city and often using musicians from bands whose appeal moves beyond the usual Dead audience (Wilco, Dawes, Goose).

Plus, Royale is used for other events and/or club nights - so probably easier for promoters like AEG to just go somewhere where that's not an issue.
I was absolutely sure they'd have to add a second Maggie Rogers night at Roadrunner, but they just added a THIRD. wow. i wonder why she didn't just book somewhere larger. (i'm not complaining, pumped to see that show in that venue.)

Agganis? Lowell?
The DCU/AMP/SHNU tier might be too big
agganis prob would have made the most sense, i dont really care for her but it seems shes had a massive jump in popularity lately
