15 people in the whole venue at the sinclair for Sad night dynamite. they shoulda built up more of a fanbase in the US before touring. this is incredibly bad esp for a friday night. opener is on at 9 but still. its a shame bc theyre a good band with a lot of potential

somewhat random question - is the State Theatre in Portland always totally seated? pictures online look like it's all seats but i'm not sure if maybe some are removable or something..?
The Wonder Years just announced a tour and are playing there and i would like to go but that feels like an awful venue for that show if it's completely seated.

nope! very rarely is the entire venue seated, and when it is, its assigned. typical show layout is that the front half of the floor is standing room ga, and the back half of the floor and balcony is seated but GA first come first serve

I know could be a longshot, but did anybody get a pre-sale code for the Killers pre-sale tomorrow at Mohegan Sun on 3/17/23 that they aren't using? Apparently the Killers' MGMT decided that they won't be emailing codes to everyone on the list anymore, without telling anyone, and tried to base it off of people's zip codes. The issue is I got a code for their Vegas NYE show, but not Mohegan which is an hour 20 away lol. would be very appreciated! idk who else to ask haha

i was also sent a Vegas NYE presale code. haven't seen anything about Mohegan, but are you sure they sent the codes out already? might be trying to wait closer to presale time to avoid selling or whatever..?
DVS1 is playing lower level(cambridge elks) on thursday next week. i wanted to go but alas i’ll be on call. infra seems to have some neat stuff so i’d recommend following them if you have any interest in electronic

I've seen the Elks Lodge referred to as Hardcore Stadium recently, in a listing for an upcoming show with MJ Lenderman.
That's a really weird name for a venue, especially one of its size. I like it.
I caught my first indoor live music last night, for the first time in around three years.
I figured that I needed to dip my toes back in the water, so I went to see a musician I know play at TOAD last night. I had intended to catch the entire first set, but after a long wait for a bus, I got there 10 min late, but stayed for the rest of the set (half-hour or so).
I was literally the only masked person there.
I'm really hoping that I don't come down with COVID again in the next few days, after testing positive a couple of days after Boston Calling (back when we were all told that you can't catch it outdoors.)
Hopefully for me (and sadly for you guys), this means that I won't be giving away tickets in the foreseeable future.

If it makes you feel any better i only got covid once at either bright eyes or japanese breakfast in late july or august of 2021 and never got it again as far as i know. have been to possibly over 100 shows since including festivals and have not really masked at any since the mandate was removed

That's great and I'm glad that it's gone well for you, but every time an epidemiologist tweets that almost all of the COVID deaths are now among people 65 and over, I cringe (since I'm 64).
I knew that I had to get past the point of yelling at unmasked people before I'd feel comfortable enough to go to a show and, while I still recoil in horror when someone's face gets too close to mine, I'm no longer lashing out angrily, so I'm not going to spoil anyone's good time with my reaction to potential COVID exposure any longer. (When I saw Elvis C. at the pavilion in August, before the show, someone walked into the row in front of me to speak to the person sitting two seats to my right, and leaned over, to talk to her, putting his unmasked face around a foot-and-a-half away from mine. I told him to back the quack up. Pandemic or no pandemic, you don't put your face right in a stranger's face in a setting like this, where people aren't opting into a mosh pit or GA area right in front of the stage.)
Have a Nice Life @ The sinclair April 28. Definitely hopping on presale, thats an extremely rare act, deathconsciousness is a longtime fave of mine too

For me, anyway, March looks to be remarkably busy, with one show after another. Old favorites, new favorites, new artists who've just shown up on my radar. I wonder if this is a signal that 2023 is the year which we originally thought 2022 might be -- the year when *everybody* is touring. It seems like some artists who may have held off on snow belt dates before April and after October in the past might be booking gigs when the venues are available, and all of the action in March might indicate that the usual LiveNation and AEG venues have already booked the fuck out of April - October.
i think it's going to be biggg. there were talks about it being a potential Boston Calling site back in the day (which i think would've been cool), and with Roadrunner just opening at 3500 cap, i feel like this has to be at least 5000, right? depends on how much of the grounds they use, i guess.
no matter what, i'm just SO happy it's Bowery and not fucking Livenation/Ticketmaster
aeg/bowery has been by far the best booking agency here. after a year of LCD Soundsystem, Flume, Disclosure, Fred again, Mitski, Turnstile, Denzel Curry, Jbrekkie, Khruangbin, Stereolab, and Phoenix i cant wait to see what else they have coming up. i think a lot of BC acts we dont get will end up here as well
