Holy shit TAGABOW was my #1 discovery of last year, been urgently waiting for them to come to New England. Not familiar with the other artists on this lineup though, and FYI it's also in Turner's Falls which is pretty remote

I can't imagine that they're singlehandedly headlining Fenway, so I'm wondering whom else is performing.
Don't underestimate the selling power of 30-somethings full of nostalgia, FOMO, and disposable income.
They were second to Green Day on the bill at the Hella Mega tour Fenway date (but cancelled at the last minute, turning it into a Green Day/Weezer/The Interrupters show). I like FOB a lot, but don't see them as that huge. At the very least, they'd need a strong #2 at Fenway, someone who could sell out HoB or Roadrunner, if not MGM (just like P!nk has Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo or Brandi Carlile at #2 on her ballpark shows)

consensus is Bring Me to the Horizon, which combined will sell very *very* well
Herbie Hancock is playing a venue thats like a 10min walk from my partners apartment but tix are 130 for balcony and 150 for orchestra so fuck that lol
my pipe dream is that we get some kind of primavera esque festival at the stage at suffolk downs given its suitable for a festival venue
Suffolk Downs is perfect for a festival, but they'd need to use more than the 8,500 capacity infield, which is the capacity limit for the new venue. The only way something bigger happens is if the property development company that's partnering with Bowery/AEG OK's it. I could see that happening in 2024, after they see how the first season goes.
What was clear to me is that the Guinness Fleadh, which I attended there 20+ years ago, was using somewhere around a third of the grounds (not using the grandstand or infield at all or anything behind it, kind of like Boston Calling doesn't use the stadium) and capacity was 30K, with one main stage, a second stage in an area that could have accommodated around a thousand people at most, as well as a tent with what had to be 150 capacity or less. So, a music festival with access to all or most of the grounds could go as big as Boston Calling or bigger.
Has anyone been to that lodge in Central Square that sometimes uses the name Hardcore Stadium? I'm going to my first show there soon and was wondering what people thought of the venue.
boygenius Two nights of Brandi Carlile (They're probably looking to make a splash on their opening week, like they did with Roadrunner and Live Nation did with MGM, so this makes sense as far as leading with a big name or two to open. This would explain why she's not doing the P!nk shows at Fenway when she's doing most of the ballpark dates.) Pavement Big Thief Jack White Bob Dylan, with a strong opening act
Willie Nelson
Hozier
Olivia Rodrigo Neil Young Late summer Goose return Late summer King Gizzard return A bunch of mainstream country artists, the sort who'd be second on the bill to whomever's headlining at Fenway or Gillette. Similarly, a bunch of rap and EDM artists I probably couldn't name. A surprisingly large number of Latin artists, especially given the large and vibrant Latin communities fairly close to Suffolk Downs.

I don't have any idea how popular BMTH is. I've never listened to them. FOB/BMTH/Four Year Strong/Royal & the Serpent still feels like way too weak of a bill to fill up Fenway Park... but what do i know.

First shows at The Stage have somewhat been announced. Re:SET series:
boygenius with Clairo, Dijon, and Bartees Strange on June 18th
LCD Soundsystem with Jamie xx and IDLES on June 17th !!!!!!!!
Steve Lacy with James Blake, Toro y Moi, and Fousheé on June 16th.
If this sells well I hope it at least makes BC want to reconsider their current booking strategy. I know this is a nationwide thing but the headliners are so laser targeted to the tastes of Boston's student population I can't see this failing here

Call it a concert series, but this definitely feels like a festival. I just hope that this takes longer than a hot minute to sell out. It would be a shame if a lot of people got shut out.

Oh, I agree completely. FOB's appeal reaches beyond the traditional pop punk emo audience and, just like P!nk is doing, they may have been better served by broadening the lineup a bit. Maybe some old school punk or new wave from 70's-80's like Blondie would have been a nice fit.
Sent an email to the Sinclair asking if and/or when Suffolk Downs event tickets will be available to purchase at the Sinclair box office. Might just pay the fee for a digital ticket this time though in the event it sells out quick

every act is playing a full set, which is not something you get at a typical festival
someone brought up the good point that theres a techno night at phoenix landing thats been going on for over a decade thats also called re:set so its kinda shitty they named it this, hopefully they change the name

i dont think a national touring festival really cares (or should care) about a random Cambridge dive bar's theme night, lol
not technically live music, but still cool that Mulaney is taping his special here in less than a month
I've got other shows on my calendar for both nights, so I can't go (after giving away my ticket to see him in 2021, because that was just too soon for me to get back to indoor shows, at the height of Delta.)
