For all of Muse's North America festivals (Bunbury, Firefly, Quebec) they have the Sunday of the fest listed on their website, which leads me to believe they are just placeholder dates.

Still think (and hoping) that Muse is on Friday.
I'm good with Muse playing Friday or Sunday. We have a wedding to attend in Va on Sat so if they play Sat night we have to race back up to the Woodlands.
Anyone who's been too a Fitz and the Tantrums show long enough to have an opinion on it is going about life so very wrong. These are the same people that went to a Passion Pit and Capital Cities show for any reason other than their significant other having shitty taste in music.

I've seen capital cities and Fitz live (both were free shows) and I don't think they are on the same level, capital cities put on a much more enjoyable show.

Yes, I stumbled upon Capital Cities playing the Miller Lite tent at roo back in 2013 and sat down for a bit. they put on a very enjoyable 30-45 minute show, which included one of the best Pink Floyd covers I have ever heard. Plus, they have a song with Andre 3000, so they can't be all bad.

Kind of ridiculous to lump Passion Pit in with the other two. Passion Pit's last album was pretty mediocre, but Manners and Gossamer were really solid. That being said, their live shows have a reputation for being shitty.

Their live shows are 100% dreadful
Couldn't agree more. Their singer is 100% studio magic, live it's really awful.

You're all wrong. The right answer is all three bands are shitty. It doesn't mean because you had fun at one of their show's they are good. These are the shows all you talkers enjoy because there's one place you can meet up and enjoy yourselves because who gives a flying fuck if you chat through "Kangaroo Court", you're all waiting for them too play that one hit we all knew they would play.
Sooo about that Clashfinder someone was making. I don't think I'll last till June discussing the merits of Capital Cities and Fitz and the Tantrums.
I make one every year but right now I'm stuck about 1/3 of the way done because I haven't found a list anywhere of the genre for each artist. It's so much harder to do without that (for the artists lower on the lineup that I don't know). If someone has one, please post it so I can use it.
Beyoncé having twins is actually making me think the rumors of her dropping out at the last minute are real.
This definitely happened. Beyonce dropped out, explaining the poor undercard, and then Firefly scrambled and booked The Weeknd and Bob Dylan.
The lineup release video gives it away. The Weeknd and Bob Dylan are just dropped in at the very end. You think you would have a song from your #1 headliner in the video, but White Panda clearly made the mix before all this. Also, Launchpad hinted weeks ago when he said 2 of the following would be at Firefly (TOP, Weeknd, Chainsmokers, Lumineers, Chance). Which makes me believe The Weeknd was added late.
The only thing going against that is The Weeknd's tour dates which were released months ago and skipped Baltimore/Philly. But he does have Atlantic City, DC, and a bunch of NY dates so maybe that was enough.
So....it seems like the theory was true. Damn what a shame. With the Beyonce payday they could have really built an impressive undercard, or done better than The Weeknd and Bob Dylan.
Not a Beyonce fan so I hope she takes time off with her twins after they're born or else you're looking at a 2018 headliner and another poorly-funded undercard.
So The Weeknd and Bob Dylan= the spend for Beyonce? I thought she'd be much more expensive than that. Tough luck tho for Firefly, was gonna have one of the most famous pop acts ever, then she has kids.

Most famous pop acts ever.... had to settle for Bob Dylan.
I get what you're saying but this wasn't worded the best way if you're talking ever.

She might be more - but it's probably not that far off. I honestly have no idea what Bob Dylan costs anymore. It's tough to guess for a legend who doesn't really perform well anymore.

Hi all, I finally made an account after lurking around for a while specifically to tell wufinancial to get over yourself, pal. Fitz and Cap Cities are both excellent live shows for the type of music that they play and if you don't agree then I'd have to guess you either haven't actually seen their shows and you is trollin', or you are the one who is going about life so very wrong. Lighten up a little, my man. Fitz and Cap Cities are just pop bands that make light-hearted music for people to dance to and they do a pretty good job of accomplishing that. It's alright for music to be a little mindless and fun every now and then. I wouldn't list either act among my absolute favorites but both shows are a good time. As somebody pointed out earlier, Cap Cities has an outstanding cover of Breathe by Floyd that features a Pac sample that works surprisingly well, and In A Tidal Wave of Mystery is a really catchy pop album from start to finish. Fitz has really dumbed down their music with each album they've released after their debut but their early stuff is very solid, as well as some of their second album. Take a chill pill and stop sippin' on that haterade, cuz.
P.S. - I like your username. Chappelle's Show is one of my all time favorite things in the whole world.

nah they're objectively garbage.
To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, "that word does not mean what you think it means." It's alright Ken, not everybody gets to be good at using words. What's important is that you showed up and gave it your best effort. Keep trying, you'll get the hang of vocabulary someday.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Tom, Ken and Wu seem like a really fun bunch. Just outta curiosity, would any of you 3 be willing to offer up any examples of acts that you don't consider to be hot garbage? Let's find some common ground here.
