For my tastes shaky knees won the undercard battle and Boston calling won the headliners battle. Going to both.
Going for muse day to FF. That's it. It is so easy for me. I have a hotel reserved on points. It's a simple straight 2 hour drive. And I have no idea how I would fill a full 3.5 days at this. Discovery is fun. But it shouldn't be 3/4 of the event
exactly. thats what the people on FB/reddit bitching about the people who dont like the lineup need to understand.

Discovery is fun when you can be reasonably confident about the quality of acts on the lineup (which tends to be the case with niche fests such as Primavera). Firefly clearly fails this litmus test.
But yeah, lol at FB/Reddit people. Avoiding those comments is good for your mental well-being.
I've spent my entire day in fear of being Sasquatch'd, so I came up with this, which is part hope, part fear
The Weeknd - LCD Soundsystem - 21 Pilots - Chance the Rapper The Flaming Lips - The XX - The Lumineers - Lorde - Flume - The Shins - Animal Collective - Dillon Francis Head and the Heart - All American Rejects - Glass Animals - Future Islands - Galantis - Tory Lanez- Young the Giant Big Gigantic - Silverson Pickups - Phantogram - Michael Franti - Sigur Ros - Vince Staples - Needtobreathe - Illenium STRFKR - Claude VonStroke - Misterwives - Banks - Lil Dicky - Galactic - The Revivalists - Jagwar Ma - Capital Cities - The Strumbellas Francis and the Lights - Rainbow Kitten Surprise - Matoma - Foreign Air - Manic Focus - Judah and the Lion - Ganja White Night - White Panda
Just threw up in my mouth
For the record this made me throw up in my mouth and it ended up being substantially better than the final lineup

I was excited to discover the Coachella lineup, I made spotify playlists with 5 songs from every artist. I have no desire to do that with the FF lineup.
But I think the consensus with my group is to head down Friday afternoon and leave early on Sunday to minimize PTO. I'll have more fun hanging out drinking and playing games at camp and going in at 6 than seeing no name bands and spending money inside the fest.

Any time people are trying to minimize there time at a fest and it doesn't seem like a bad idea, things have gone significantly wrong on the bookings

Saw this on reddit - thoughts? Some good acts were removed, but I can absolutely appreciate getting rid of Kesha/TI/40 hub acts, and the top line at least appears to be more Firefly branded

at first glance it looks a lot better, then i get past the shins and realize there is absolutely nothing for me.
Honestly, Kesha was one of the cooler bookings. I'm confused though, it's the same lineup with stuff slid around a little bit and Kesha taken out, why would that be better?

im pretty sure kesha legally cant even play her own music.

That new poster def looks better but I'm not sure how? Maybe it's just the lack of clutter.also feel like there's a significant drop off after weezer as far as big names go but it's also heavier on the top two so who knows. I'm thinking that leaves room for a few decent ads. After a weeknd with it, its grown on me.

You can put a lipstick on a pig but it'll still smell like shit

Where on earth did you come up with that? She can and she does.

When I saw her at Music Midtown she couldn't. That's why she played some covers.
I think it's she can't play new music that has been written and recorded, but the studio hasn't authorized release due to the legal issues. All the hits are fair game.
I think this is decent for a 104.5 bday show, but literally 10 out of those 11 acts have been at Firefly in the last 2 years, so I wouldn't have really wanted to see any of these acts on the lineup this year, except for Empire of the Sun. Also, Bleachers and Kaleo are on the lineup again this year.

How is Empire of the Sun being billed above the 1975?

June 11th is good. The May show has EOTS and Fitz. That's about it.
I saw Fitz at FF last year for the first time and I thought they were terrible. I liked a lot of their tunes before the show as well, and was looking forward to it, but it just really turned me off from them.

Anyone have any idea when they're going to release the daily schedules? I mean, they did it in November last year like a day after.
I just need to know if Muse is actually playing Sunday, because if they are I'm not going to any of this. For some reason I still don't believe they'll play Sunday, it just doesn't make sense to make them close the fest out. I'd put Chance and Dylan on Sunday to keep everyone (both old and young) at the fest.

its kinda wild how much 104.5's budget has grown though. in 2015 foster the people headlined the bday show, now they have 2 days and legitimate headliners each day. i;ve met the people who run the show over there a few times, really nice people. good for them.

I think it's pretty likely Muse will close out. Remember they originally wanted it to be Beyonce-Muse-21P-Chance. So they figured on Beyonce Friday, 21P and Chance Saturday, and Muse closing it out. Dylan shows Saturday on his website, so that's probably his day. I think they put 21P and the Weeknd on Friday and then add Chance to play after Dylan on Saturday.

correction* 2 years ago Of monsters and men/death cab headlined, year before was foster the people. still wild how much their budget has grown.

That's odd because the one time I saw them they were incredible. Great energy, definitely feeding off the audience, sounded great. Though this wasn't at a big venue
